NinjaTrader Trading Journal

The first stop-out may be normal. The next three trades are where the session can unravel.

RizeTrade helps NinjaTrader traders review futures executions, contract size, and the behavior that follows a losing trade.

Futures Punish the Need to Be Right Quickly

You get stopped at a level you still believe in. Price comes back. The re-entry feels obvious.

If that second trade fails, the third can feel even more necessary.

What began as one valid setup becomes a sequence of attempts to prove the original idea was right.

See the Re-Entry Loop on the Chart

RizeTrade lets you return to the session and see each entry and exit in context.

You can compare the first trade with the second and third attempts. Did the setup reset? Did the stop change? Did contract size increase? Did the time between trades shrink?

The chart makes the progression visible.

Track Contract Size After Outcomes

One extra contract can change how a trade feels.

Track whether you size up after losses, after strong wins, or when you become more certain about a level. Then compare those trades with setup quality and rule adherence.

The useful question is not whether larger size is always bad. It is whether emotion is deciding when you use it.

Know When the Session Is Done

Futures traders need a personal stopping rule before the market gives them another reason to stay.

RizeTrade helps you compare trade count, time of day, emotions, and rule adherence. You may find that your best trading happens early, while later trades are mostly attempts to repair the day.

Knowing when to stop is part of the strategy.

Separate a Fresh Setup From the Same Idea Again

Re-entry is not automatically revenge trading.

The useful distinction is whether the market created a new reason to enter or whether you simply still wanted the original idea to work.

Record what changed before the second entry. Did price reset? Did your trigger return? Was there new confirmation? If nothing meaningful changed except the fact that you were stopped, the re-entry deserves a much harder review.

Ask Trading Mentor AI

Ask:

  • What happens after my first stop-out?
  • Do re-entries perform worse?
  • When do I increase contracts?
  • Which part of the session produces the most rule breaks?

Trade the next setup on its own terms, not as a response to the last one.

How it works

Three steps, then the reviewing starts. No spreadsheet, no manual entry.

  1. 1

    Bring your history in

Connect NinjaTrader or upload a CSV export. Executions are matched into trades automatically — partial fills and multi-leg options included.

  2. 2

    Tag what happened

Setup, emotion, rule followed, stop and target. A few fields per trade is enough to make the review meaningful later.

  3. 3

    Review the patterns

Filter by any variable and compare. The reports show which setups pay, which habits cost, and whether you followed your own plan.

Questions

Do you store my NinjaTrader password?
No. RizeTrade never stores broker credentials, and never places, modifies or touches an order in your account. The connection is read-only.
How do I get my NinjaTrader trades in?
Connect the account for automatic sync, or export a CSV and upload it. Either way your existing history comes in on the first import, not just trades from today onward.
Does it handle options and futures?
Yes. Verticals, condors, butterflies and diagonals are grouped as single positions rather than loose legs, and expired contracts close themselves. Futures carry their own multipliers and tick sizes.
What if I have years of history?
Import it all. A longer record makes the reports more useful, because patterns in setups, times of day and rule-breaking only become visible across a large sample.
Can I cancel?
Yes, at any time. There is also a 30-day money-back guarantee, so you can import your history and see your own numbers before committing.

Stop guessing. Review your trading.
