When Rize Trade and your broker disagree on P&L, the gap usually comes from fees, which account you are viewing, how trades are grouped, timezone on import, missing fills that leave trades open, or which day the calendar assigns each trade to.
Quick checks before you dig in
- Open Settings > Import History and confirm the status, trade count and Duplicates.
- Use the account filter and pick the single account that matches the broker statement, not All Accounts.
- Compare the same date range on both sides.
Common reasons the numbers differ
Commissions and fees are estimated or missing
Net P&L is gross P&L minus total fees: commission, transaction fees and ECN fees.
Fix:
- Go to Settings > Commissions & Fees.
- Turn on Estimate Commissions when imports do not include fee data, and enter default rates.
- Turn on Use Broker Data when you want broker-reported commissions to override defaults.
- Click Save Import Settings, then re-import.
Duplicates or more than one account are inflating totals
With All Accounts selected, every account is shown together.
Fix: filter to one account. If the same file was imported into two accounts, keep the correct copy in one and delete the extras.
Trade grouping does not match how your broker lists fills
- Merge when possible — merges same-day executions into as few trades as possible.
- Split when possible — starts a new trade whenever a new execution arrives while your position is flat.
Fix: open Settings > Trade Processing and choose the grouping that matches how you review trades. The choice applies to future imports only.
Timezone on CSV import shifted dates or sessions
Fix: set the timezone dropdown to match the file. If data was already imported wrong, remove those trades and re-upload.
Missing executions left trades open
If an exit never imported, the trade stays open and closed P&L will not match.
Fix: find open trades in the range, check Import History for a Failed row, and re-import the missing range into the same account.
Calendar day does not match the broker's statement day
The calendar buckets each trade's net P&L by the trade's start date, not close or settlement date.
Fix: compare the broker's fills that opened that day, or compare full start-to-end range totals rather than forcing every calendar day to match.
