Yes. You can set up Rize Trade before you have any trades to import. An empty export file will not create trades, and that is expected.
What you can set up first
Add trading accounts or broker connections, write in your journal, and build playbooks so everything is ready when the first trades land.
Journal entries and playbooks do not require imported trades.
Empty import files do not add trades
If you upload a file with no trade data, you may see Empty File.
A file that only has a header row, or contains no valid trades for the range you exported, also fails import.
TopstepX and other exports with no trades
If an export comes back empty, widen the date range and try again.
Broker connections can save before accounts appear
Connecting a broker can succeed even when no accounts are linked yet. Wait for accounts to appear, then import or sync when trades exist.
Import History stays empty until the first import
Seeing No imports yet is normal if you have not imported anything.
