Which is the better fit?

Consider My Funded Futures

My Funded Futures is one of the stronger futures prop firm options in 2026 if your priorities are fast payouts, no activation fee and a choice between different drawdown structures. The Rapid plan is the standout for active traders because it offers daily payout eligibility, a 90/10 profit split and no consistency rule once you reach the simulated funded stage.

Consider Topstep

Topstep is one of the better futures prop firms for disciplined intraday traders, particularly if you value an established operator, a relatively straightforward evaluation and a genuine route from simulated funding to a Live Funded Account. The main drawbacks are its Maximum Loss Limit, strict intraday-only trading, payout conditions and a TopstepX-centric platform setup.

Which should you fund?

Topstep is the better futures prop firm for most traders, but MyFundedFutures is the better choice if fast payouts, zero activation fees and greater plan flexibility matter more to you.

For the average trader choosing between MyFundedFutures and Topstep, I would pick Topstep. Its $50K Trading Combine starts at $49 per month, the standard funded profit split is 90/10, traders can hold up to five Express Funded Accounts, and its Maximum Loss Limit uses an end-of-day trailing calculation rather than following unrealised profits upward throughout the session. Topstep also has a much longer operating history, with the business tracing its trading programme back to 2012.

MyFundedFutures Rapid is the stronger option for traders who prioritise getting paid quickly. MFFU Rapid offers daily payout eligibility, a 90/10 split, no activation fee and no consistency rule in the simulated funded stage. Its main trade-off is an intraday trailing drawdown during the standard Rapid simulated funded stage, which can punish strategies that build large unrealised winners and then give some profit back.

The important point is that MyFundedFutures is not one product. MFFU Rapid, Builder and Pro have materially different drawdown, payout and profit-sharing rules. Comparing "MFFU vs Topstep" without specifying the MFFU plan can therefore produce a misleading answer.

MFFU's current Rapid page lists the $50K plan at $209 with pricing starting around $105 under the promotion shown at the time of writing. Builder lists $125 with promotional pricing starting around $63. Topstep currently lists its $50K Trading Combine at $49 per month on the Standard Path or $95 per month on the No Activation Fee Path.

Prices and promotions change frequently, so compare the checkout price rather than relying on an old prop-firm review.

Which Is Better Overall: MyFundedFutures or Topstep?

Topstep is particularly attractive if you intend to run several accounts. A trader can hold up to five active Express Funded Accounts at once. MFFU also permits multiple accounts on certain plans, including up to five $25K or $50K Rapid simulated funded accounts, but its limits vary depending on plan and account size.

There is also an experience advantage. The business that became Topstep was established around professional futures trading in 2010, with Topstep Trader launching in 2012. That does not automatically make its rules better, but operating history is a reasonable consideration when choosing a firm that may owe you future payouts.

MFFU becomes more compelling when the question changes from "Which is best overall?" to "Which gets me from evaluation to withdrawing profits fastest?"

That is where Rapid is difficult to ignore.

MFFU Rapid vs Topstep: Which Has Better Payout Rules?

On MFFU Rapid, a trader can request payouts daily after satisfying the required buffer and minimum profit requirements. For a $50K Rapid account, the required buffer is currently $2,100, the minimum withdrawal is $500, and there is no funded-stage consistency rule. MFFU states that first payout eligibility can begin 24 hours after the first funded trade once those financial requirements are met.

Topstep's Standard Express Funded Account requires five winning days of at least $150 before a payout request. A trader can request up to 50% of the eligible account balance, subject to an account-size payout cap. On the standard $50K XFA, that cap is currently $2,000 per request. Topstep uses a 90/10 profit split.

Topstep also offers an XFA Consistency path. That route requires at least three trading days and a 40% consistency target, but offers higher payout caps than the Standard XFA.

If your objective is maximum payout frequency, MFFU Rapid wins.

If you prefer a more structured progression toward a Topstep Live Funded Account and do not mind accumulating qualifying days before withdrawals, Topstep remains competitive.

The Drawdown Rules Matter More Than the Headline Price

This is the part I would pay the most attention to.

Both firms can advertise a $2,000 maximum loss on a $50K evaluation, but how that loss threshold moves is more important than the number itself.

How Topstep's Maximum Loss Limit Works

Topstep's $50K Trading Combine has a $2,000 Maximum Loss Limit. The MLL moves upward based on the account's end-of-day balance and never moves back down. Once the MLL reaches the original starting balance, it stops trailing.

The limit is monitored in real time, so hitting the existing MLL with realised or unrealised P&L still causes a breach. The key distinction is that an unrealised intraday gain does not continually drag the loss floor upward behind it.

For traders who let winners run, that is useful.

Imagine you are up $1,500 intraday but close the session only $500 higher. An end-of-day trailing mechanism generally gives you more room than a system that raises the floor while the $1,500 unrealised gain is still open.

How MFFU Rapid Drawdown Works

MFFU Rapid uses an end-of-day drawdown during the evaluation, but the standard Rapid simulated-funded account switches to intraday trailing drawdown.

That means the funded loss floor can move upward alongside unrealised gains. MFFU states that the trailing mechanism eventually locks once the required safety buffer is built, after which the floor stops following profits upward.

This makes Rapid excellent for payout speed but less attractive for certain trading styles.

A scalper who books profits quickly may barely care.

A trader who regularly lets a strong NQ or ES winner run and gives part of the open profit back before exiting should care a lot.

MFFU also offers other structures, including Builder and an end-of-day Rapid variant, so do not assume the standard Rapid drawdown represents every MyFundedFutures account.

Which Is Cheaper: Topstep or MyFundedFutures?

Topstep's standard $50K Trading Combine currently costs $49 per month. However, passing that Standard Path creates a $149 activation fee for the Express Funded Account. A trader who passes during the first billing cycle therefore pays $198 before considering trading commissions or other optional costs.

Topstep's $95-per-month No Activation Fee Path removes the $149 charge after passing.

MFFU Rapid currently advertises its $50K evaluation at $209 list price with promotional pricing starting around $105, while charging no activation fee. The evaluation is sold as a one-time purchase rather than a recurring monthly subscription.

That creates three different answers to "Which is cheaper?"

  • Cheapest initial purchase: Topstep Standard at $49.
  • Cheap if you pass immediately: Topstep's $95 No Activation Fee option is extremely competitive.
  • Potentially cheaper if an evaluation takes several months: MFFU's one-time pricing avoids Topstep's monthly rebills, provided you do not breach and need another evaluation.

Do not compare only the number on the checkout button. Compare your expected cost to reach a funded account.

MFFU Builder vs Topstep: Which Is Better for a Lower-Cost Account?

The $50K MFFU Builder evaluation has a $3,000 target, $2,000 end-of-day trailing maximum loss, no evaluation consistency rule and a one-day minimum. It also uses a $1,000 soft daily loss pause rather than automatically killing the account when that daily threshold is reached.

Once simulated funded, Builder uses an 80/20 profit split and a 50% payout consistency rule. The $50K plan currently requires a $2,100 buffer, a minimum $500 withdrawal and caps each simulated payout at $2,000. After five approved simulated payouts, Builder has a defined transition into a live brokerage account.

Topstep therefore gives you the better 90/10 split, while Builder gives you a cheap one-time evaluation with no activation charge and a very explicit five-payout live progression.

I would choose Builder over Rapid if keeping the drawdown calculated end-of-day matters more than getting a 90% profit split.

Which Firm Has Better Trading Platform Support?

MyFundedFutures documents support for platforms and connections including Tradovate, NinjaTrader, Quantower, TradingView, ATAS and Volumetrica. TradingView can be connected through an MFFU Tradovate account.

Topstep describes TopstepX as its primary trading platform, although it also supports integrations such as Quantower using TopstepX credentials. TopstepX additionally includes built-in trade copying for Trading Combine and Express Funded Accounts.

If your execution workflow is already built around Tradovate, NinjaTrader or TradingView, MFFU has the advantage.

If you like TopstepX and want your prop accounts, analytics, risk controls and copier inside one ecosystem, that advantage matters less.

Who Should Choose Topstep?

Choose Topstep if you:

  • want the strongest all-round option rather than optimising for one feature;
  • want the lowest headline $50K evaluation cost;
  • prefer an end-of-day trailing Maximum Loss Limit;
  • want a 90/10 profit split;
  • plan to operate several Express Funded Accounts;
  • are comfortable earning five qualifying winning days before Standard XFA payouts;
  • value Topstep's longer operating history and established futures ecosystem.

For most traders comparing the two firms without a very specific requirement, Topstep would be my first choice.

Who Should Choose MyFundedFutures?

Choose MyFundedFutures if you:

  • want zero activation fees;
  • dislike recurring evaluation subscriptions;
  • want multiple plan structures rather than one main evaluation model;
  • need Tradovate, NinjaTrader, TradingView or other platform flexibility;
  • prioritise faster access to payouts;
  • specifically want the Rapid plan's daily payout structure;
  • prefer Builder's low-cost one-time evaluation and defined five-payout path to live funding.

For an experienced trader whose strategy fits the drawdown rules and whose priority is extracting profits quickly, MFFU Rapid can be better than Topstep.

My Funded Futures vs Topstep: Final Verdict

Topstep combines low evaluation pricing, a 90/10 profit split, up to five Express Funded Accounts and favourable end-of-day Maximum Loss Limit mechanics with more than a decade of operating history.

But this is not a landslide.

MyFundedFutures Rapid beats Topstep on payout speed and activation costs. Rapid gives traders daily payout opportunities, no funded consistency requirement and a 90/10 split without charging an activation fee. Its intraday trailing funded drawdown is the price you pay for those benefits.

MFFU Builder is the better MFFU alternative for traders who dislike Rapid's intraday trailing drawdown. Builder sacrifices some profit share and adds payout consistency requirements, but uses an end-of-day drawdown and provides a defined route from five simulated payouts to live capital.

So the decision is straightforward:

Choose Topstep for the best all-round package. Choose MyFundedFutures Rapid for payout speed. Choose MFFU Builder for a lower-cost, one-time route with end-of-day drawdown.

The wrong way to choose is by looking at account size or headline price alone. Compare the drawdown calculation, payout eligibility and total cost of reaching the funded stage against the way you actually trade.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is MyFundedFutures better than Topstep?

Topstep is better for most futures traders, while MyFundedFutures is better for traders prioritising fast payouts and zero activation fees. MFFU Rapid offers daily payouts and no simulated-funded consistency rule, whereas Topstep combines a 90/10 split with end-of-day trailing loss limits and up to five Express Funded Accounts.

Does MyFundedFutures or Topstep have easier drawdown rules?

Topstep generally has the more forgiving drawdown structure compared with the standard MFFU Rapid simulated-funded account. Topstep's Maximum Loss Limit trails using end-of-day balances, while standard MFFU Rapid uses intraday trailing drawdown after funding. MFFU Builder and Rapid EOD use different mechanics, so the exact MFFU plan matters.

Which pays faster, MyFundedFutures or Topstep?

MyFundedFutures Rapid offers faster payout eligibility. Rapid allows daily payout requests after its buffer and minimum-profit conditions are satisfied. Topstep Standard Express Funded Accounts require five winning days of at least $150 before requesting a payout.

Which is cheaper, MFFU or Topstep?

Topstep is cheaper to enter, but MyFundedFutures can be cheaper to keep active. Topstep's $50K Standard Trading Combine is currently $49 per month, while MFFU uses one-time evaluation pricing on its current plans. Topstep's Standard Path also charges $149 to activate an XFA after passing, although its higher-priced No Activation Fee Path removes that charge.

Can you have multiple funded accounts with Topstep and MyFundedFutures?

Yes. Topstep permits up to five active Express Funded Accounts. MyFundedFutures account limits depend on the plan and account size. For example, MFFU currently permits up to five active $25K or $50K Rapid simulated-funded accounts, while the $50K Builder plan is limited to one active Builder account.

Futures prop firms change pricing, drawdown rules and payout terms regularly, so verify the current programme terms before purchasing an evaluation.
