What to check first
Confirm regional availability, the regulated entity, leverage limits and rollover costs. Forex and CFD losses can accumulate quickly.
Overview
FXGT is a legitimate multi-entity CFD broker, but it is not an automatic recommendation for every trader. FXGT is worth considering if you specifically want high leverage, MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5, several account structures and access to forex and CFD markets. Traders who prioritise the strongest possible retail regulatory protection or who are uncomfortable with recent withdrawal and profit-cancellation complaints have better reasons to look elsewhere.
The critical point is not simply whether FXGT is regulated. It is. The more important question is which FXGT legal entity holds your account and what protections apply in your jurisdiction. FXGT lists regulated entities in Seychelles, South Africa, Vanuatu, Cyprus and Mauritius, but several of those entities do not serve ordinary retail clients.
This FXGT review is based on current regulatory disclosures, published trading conditions and public customer feedback. We have not claimed first-hand trading or withdrawal experience where none was available.

FXGT's account information and transaction FAQs confirm that trading conditions vary by jurisdiction. Check the terms shown inside your own client portal rather than assuming that every FXGT specification applies to you.
Is FXGT legit or a scam?
FXGT appears to be a legitimate regulated brokerage group rather than an anonymous or unlicensed trading operation. The FXGT brand operates through several registered companies, and its website publishes licence numbers, legal documents, risk disclosures and complaints procedures.
GT Global Ltd is regulated in Seychelles under Securities Dealer's Licence SD019. GT IO Markets (Pty) Ltd is an authorised South African financial services provider with FSP number 48896. The South African entity also appears in Financial Sector Conduct Authority documentation under that number.
Calling FXGT a scam solely because it operates through offshore entities would be inaccurate.
That does not make an FXGT account risk-free. Regulation is not one universal status. The company holding your account determines the regulator, contractual protections, complaint route and any investor protection available to you.
Public feedback is also mixed. Negative complaints should be examined rather than dismissed because FXGT holds licences.
How is FXGT regulated?
FXGT operates through several legal entities rather than one universal regulated company.
| FXGT entity | Jurisdiction / licence | Important distinction |
|---|---|---|
| GT Global Ltd | Seychelles FSA, Securities Dealer's Licence SD019 | One of the principal entities associated with FXGT.com |
| GT IO Markets (Pty) Ltd | South Africa FSCA, FSP 48896 | Authorised South African financial services provider |
| GT Global Markets Ltd | Vanuatu VFSC, Principal's Licence 700601 | FXGT states this entity serves eligible counterparties rather than retail clients |
| GT Investment Services Ltd | Cyprus CySEC, licence 382/20 | FXGT states this entity serves eligible counterparties and is not aimed at EU retail clients |
| GT Markets Capital Ltd | Mauritius, Investment Dealer Licence GB24203727 | Listed within FXGT's current legal disclosures |
FXGT's legal page states that its Cyprus-regulated company is not aimed at retail clients who live in the European Union. The same page says FXGT.com is not intended to offer investment services to residents of the United States, EU member states and Canada.
An EU retail trader should therefore not see a CySEC logo on the website and assume that a normal FXGT retail account has CySEC retail protections.
What about crypto regulation at FXGT?
FXGT says cryptocurrency dealing falls outside the scope of the company's licensed activities and is provided through licensed third parties.
Anyone choosing FXGT mainly for crypto-related trading should understand that distinction before funding an account.
How safe are client funds at FXGT?
FXGT says client money is held separately from company funds in segregated accounts with Tier 1 financial institutions. FXGT also says that negative balance protection applies across its account types.
The broker advertises liability insurance of up to €1 million for liabilities associated with areas such as errors, omissions and negligence.
Neither measure guarantees that a trader cannot lose money. Neither is the same as a statutory investor-compensation scheme that protects every client balance. CFD trading can still produce substantial losses, particularly when leverage is used aggressively.

These are advertised starting conditions. Spreads, leverage and account availability can vary by instrument and jurisdiction. ECN Zero also has separate published commissions for some non-FX instruments.
Which FXGT account has the lowest trading costs?
ECN Zero is not automatically the cheapest FXGT account because its spread starts at 0.0 pips.
For a standard 100,000-unit EUR/USD position, one pip is approximately $10. A 0.5-pip spread therefore represents about $5 of spread cost at that price.
FXGT's Pro account advertises spreads from 0.5 pips with no commission. ECN Zero advertises spreads from 0.0 pips and a $6 FX commission. Using those advertised minimums, the theoretical cost is about $5 for Pro and $6 for ECN Zero on a one-lot EUR/USD trade.
That does not prove Pro is always cheaper. Real spreads fluctuate, and execution, market conditions and the instrument traded matter. It does show why choosing an account solely because it says "0.0 pips" is a poor comparison method.
Compare the spread, commission and overnight financing on the instruments and position sizes you actually trade.
Round-turn commission against comparable brokers
Published commission, round turn on one standard lot. Spreads and exchange fees are charged separately.
How does FXGT's 1:5000 leverage work?
FXGT offers maximum leverage of up to 1:5000 through its Optimus account, but that figure is conditional. It is not a universal setting available to every client at all times.
FXGT says traders must complete 5 GTLots and eight closed trades to qualify for leverage of up to 1:5000. Maximum leverage also varies with account equity, asset class, trading period and jurisdiction. FXGT reduces maximum leverage on certain new forex and metals positions around the weekend.
The 1:5000 figure is a genuine FXGT product feature, but it is not the normal leverage level for every trade.
High leverage can reduce the capital needed to open a position. It can also magnify the effect of a small adverse price movement. At this level, position sizing matters more than the headline number.
What can you trade with FXGT?
FXGT offers CFD exposure across several asset classes:
- Forex currency pairs
- Precious metals such as gold and silver
- Energy markets
- Equity indices
- Individual stocks
- Crypto-related products in eligible jurisdictions
- Selected synthetic instruments and proprietary products such as the GTi12 Index
The available markets depend on the account and jurisdiction. FXGT's instrument pages show forex leverage reaching 1:5000 on eligible instruments, while stock CFD leverage generally operates at much lower levels.
FXGT is mainly suited to active CFD traders. It is not a substitute for buying and holding the underlying shares or cryptocurrencies.
Does FXGT support MT4 and MT5?
Yes. FXGT supports both MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5.
FXGT provides MT4 and MT5 through desktop, web and mobile interfaces. Both platforms support manual trading and Expert Advisors. Optimus is currently listed as MT5-only, while Pro, ECN Zero, Standard and Mini have MT4 and MT5 availability in the account specifications shown for supported regions.
MT4 may suit traders with existing MQL4 indicators and Expert Advisors. MT5 has more timeframes, additional analytical tools and broader multi-asset functionality.
For traders already using MetaTrader, platform support is one of FXGT's stronger features.
What is the FXGT minimum deposit?
FXGT currently states that the minimum transfer-in across its accounts is $5, but $5 should not be confused with the balance required to activate every account type.
The current FXGT account page lists a $100 minimum balance for Pro and ECN Zero, while Optimus, Standard and Mini display a $0 minimum balance. FXGT also notes that some account types remain read-only until their required balance has been reached.
This distinction explains why different FXGT reviews can quote different "minimum deposit" figures.
For a prospective trader, the better question is:
How much money must be transferred and maintained to use the specific FXGT account I want?
Check that figure for your jurisdiction before depositing.
FXGT deposits and withdrawals
FXGT says withdrawal processing takes from instant to seven business days, depending on the payment method.
The account must meet FXGT's KYC and payment-verification requirements before a withdrawal is processed. Additional documentation can extend the timeline. Payment-method rules can also affect where funds must be returned.
FXGT says it does not impose deposit or withdrawal charges without notifying the client and obtaining consent. Banks and payment processors may still apply their own transaction or currency-conversion charges.
Are there FXGT withdrawal problems?
Public feedback is mixed.
When this review was checked in September 2026, FXGT's Trustpilot profile showed an overall score of 4.3 from roughly 1,660 reviews. Most reviews were positive, but 11% of the reviews shown were rated one star.
Several recent negative reviewers alleged delayed or rejected withdrawals, cancelled trading profits or disputes about whether their activity complied with FXGT's terms. FXGT responded publicly to several complaints. In some cases, it said that additional documents or its formal complaints process were required.
These reviews are individual customer allegations. They do not prove that FXGT systematically refuses legitimate withdrawals.
They are still relevant.
Before depositing, read the Terms and Conditions covering funding sources, trading practices, promotions and negative balance protection. Using someone else's payment card, or assuming that every aggressive strategy is allowed, can create withdrawal problems with almost any regulated broker.
FXGT pros and cons
What we like about FXGT
- Multiple regulated entities: FXGT publishes identifiable corporate entities and licence numbers rather than operating anonymously.
- MT4 and MT5 support: Both major MetaTrader platforms are available across supported accounts.
- Flexible account choice: Pro, ECN Zero, Standard, Mini and Optimus target meaningfully different trading styles.
- Competitive headline pricing: Pro starts from 0.5 pips without commission, while ECN Zero starts from 0.0 pips.
- High leverage for eligible traders: Optimus offers up to 1:5000 for traders who specifically need high capital efficiency.
- Negative balance protection: FXGT states that this protection applies across its account range, subject to its terms.
- Broad CFD range: Forex, metals, energies, indices and stocks are available from the same brokerage environment.
What to consider before opening an FXGT account
- The relevant regulatory entity varies: Seeing several regulator logos does not mean every client receives protection from every regulator.
- CySEC does not automatically protect EU retail FXGT users: FXGT says its Cyprus company is not aimed at EU retail clients.
- Recent withdrawal complaints should not be ignored: Public reviews include allegations involving withdrawal delays and cancelled profits.
- Extreme leverage creates extreme risk: 1:5000 leverage is a specialist feature, not something beginners should treat as free buying power.
- Crypto has an additional regulatory distinction: FXGT says cryptocurrency activities fall outside the scope of the company's licensed activities and are provided through third parties.
- Headline spreads are not realised trading costs: "From 0.0 pips" tells you the floor, not the average cost of executing your strategy.
Who should consider FXGT?
FXGT is most relevant to active traders who understand CFDs and want MetaTrader access, flexible account structures or unusually high leverage.
The Pro account may suit traders who want relatively tight advertised spreads without a separate FX commission. ECN Zero is more relevant to traders who want raw spread pricing and are comfortable adding commission to the calculation.
Optimus is the FXGT account aimed at traders seeking the highest leverage. The 1:5000 figure should be treated as a risk-management issue, not a reason to increase position size.
Mini may suit traders who want smaller trade sizing because it uses a smaller contract size. New traders should still use a demo account before moving to leveraged CFD trading.
FXGT is less suitable for someone seeking conservative long-term investing, ownership of real shares or the strongest retail regulatory protections available in their home jurisdiction.
Is FXGT worth using in 2026?
FXGT is worth shortlisting for experienced CFD traders who want MetaTrader, flexible account types and high leverage. It should not be chosen solely because it advertises 1:5000 leverage or 0.0-pip spreads.
The case for FXGT is clear. It operates through regulated entities, publishes trading specifications, supports MT4 and MT5, offers several pricing models and provides access to a broad selection of CFD markets.
The risks are clear too. Protection depends on the entity serving you. FXGT says its Cyprus company is not aimed at ordinary EU retail clients. Crypto services carry a separate regulatory caveat. Recent public feedback includes enough withdrawal and profit-dispute complaints to justify reading the contractual rules before depositing significant funds.
Final verdict: FXGT is not a broker we would dismiss as illegitimate, but it is not a broker to choose without checking the entity behind your account. If high leverage, MetaTrader and flexible CFD conditions are your priorities, FXGT deserves consideration. If retail protection and conservative risk controls come first, compare it with brokers offering stronger protections in your home jurisdiction.
Frequently asked questions about FXGT
Is FXGT regulated?
Yes. FXGT lists regulated entities in jurisdictions including Seychelles and South Africa, together with Cyprus and Vanuatu entities serving eligible counterparties. The exact entity applicable to a client depends on jurisdiction.
Is FXGT a scam?
There is not a sound factual basis for describing FXGT simply as an unlicensed scam. FXGT operates through registered and regulated legal entities. However, regulation does not remove trading or counterparty risk, and public complaints about withdrawals and cancelled profits should be considered during due diligence.
Does FXGT offer MetaTrader 4?
Yes. FXGT currently supports both MT4 and MT5 on desktop, web and mobile, although platform availability varies by account.
What is the minimum deposit at FXGT?
FXGT states that its minimum transfer-in is $5. However, individual trading accounts can have separate minimum-balance requirements. Pro and ECN Zero currently list $100 minimum balances.
How long does an FXGT withdrawal take?
FXGT states that withdrawals can take anywhere from instantly to seven business days depending on the payment method. KYC checks, payment verification or requests for additional documentation can increase the processing time.
