Overview

FNmarkets is a legitimate, Mauritius-regulated CFD broker with competitive trading conditions, a $50 minimum deposit and MetaTrader 5 access, but it would not be my first choice for traders whose main priority is maximum regulatory protection. FNmarkets is currently operated through FNmarkets (Mauritius) Ltd, which identifies itself as regulated by the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius. An independent July 2026 check also found the entity listed on the FSC Online Public Register as an Investment Dealer.

The main reason for caution is not that FNmarkets appears unlicensed. It is that Mauritius regulation provides a different protection framework from brokers authorised by regulators such as the UK Financial Conduct Authority or Australian Securities and Investments Commission. FNmarkets is also a relatively young brokerage, and its Trustpilot profile currently carries a warning stating that fake reviews have been removed.

Our verdict: FNmarkets makes the most sense for experienced CFD traders who specifically value MetaTrader 5, low entry requirements, high leverage and Raw pricing. Traders putting regulatory protection, long operating history and reputation above trading conditions should compare FNmarkets against more established brokers before depositing substantial capital.

FNmarkets' account documentation states that Standard and Raw accounts support leverage up to 1:500, a 100% margin-call level and a 20% stop-out level. Expert Advisors, VPNs and VPS use are also permitted.

There is one important inconsistency worth knowing about. FNmarkets' homepage currently advertises maximum leverage as "1:Unlimited", while its help centre and contractual documentation specify leverage up to 1:500. Until FNmarkets reconciles those statements, traders should confirm the leverage actually applicable to their account before funding it.

Is FN Markets legit or a scam?

FNmarkets should not be labelled a scam based on the evidence currently available. The current fnmarkets.com operating entity is a Mauritius-regulated investment dealer, although that does not make FNmarkets equivalent to a Tier-1 regulated broker.

FNmarkets (Mauritius) Ltd states that it is authorised by the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius under licence GB25204149. An independent review of the FSC public register conducted in July 2026 reported that FNmarkets (Mauritius) Ltd appeared as a SEC-2.1B Investment Dealer, Full Service Dealer excluding Underwriting, with a licence date of 12 August 2025.

That distinction matters.

A broker can be regulated and still represent more counterparty or regulatory risk than another regulated broker. Regulation should therefore be assessed by which legal entity holds client money, which regulator supervises that entity and what protections apply if something goes wrong, rather than treating "regulated" as a binary yes-or-no badge.

FNmarkets is not currently presenting itself as FCA, ASIC or similar Tier-1 regulated. Its own regulatory roadmap states that the Mauritius FSC licence is its current licence and describes ASIC, the UK's FCA, South Africa's FSCA and other authorities as future regulatory targets rather than existing approvals.

Is FN Markets regulated?

Yes. FNmarkets (Mauritius) Ltd operates under the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius.

FNmarkets identifies its regulatory details as follows:

  • Legal entity: FNmarkets (Mauritius) Ltd
  • Regulator: Financial Services Commission, Mauritius
  • Business registration number: C25224178
  • Licence disclosed by FNmarkets: GB25204149
  • Licence type reported by an independent register check: SEC-2.1B Investment Dealer, Full Service Dealer excluding Underwriting

FNmarkets' Risk Disclosure Policy also identifies the company as an Investment Dealer regulated by the FSC and says that it holds a Global Business Licence.

The more important issue is whether Mauritius regulation provides the level of protection you require.

An independent review of the FSC register found no investor compensation scheme comparable to those available under some major retail regulatory systems. FNmarkets instead points to segregated client accounts, professional indemnity insurance and negative balance protection.

That means FNmarkets is regulated, but its protection framework is not the same as that of every other regulated broker.

Why do older FN Markets reviews say it is regulated in Comoros?

A large number of FN Markets reviews currently ranking online are outdated or are referring to a different FNmarkets legal entity.

FNmarkets itself explains that there are two separate entities using the brand:

FNmarkets Global is the entity operating in Comoros.

FNmarkets refers to the Mauritius-regulated entity currently operating fnmarkets.com.

According to FNmarkets, the two businesses have separate boards and regulatory structures.

This explains why older broker reviews often state that FNmarkets is regulated only through the Mwali International Services Authority in Comoros.

Those articles should not be relied on as an accurate description of the current fnmarkets.com regulatory structure without checking which FNmarkets entity they reviewed.

The distinction is particularly important because regulatory status materially affects any broker safety assessment.

Does FNmarkets provide negative balance protection?

Yes. FNmarkets' current help centre explicitly states that negative balance protection applies and that clients cannot owe FNmarkets more than their deposited funds.

FNmarkets says an account may temporarily move below zero following extreme volatility, but qualifying negative balances are adjusted back to zero.

This is another area where several existing FN Markets reviews appear to be stale. Some reviews published earlier in the broker's history claim that FNmarkets does not provide negative balance protection.

Current FNmarkets documentation says the opposite.

For a leveraged CFD broker offering leverage up to 1:500, this is a material distinction.

How safe are client funds at FNmarkets?

FNmarkets states that client funds are held in segregated client trust accounts separately from the company's operating funds. The broker also says it maintains professional indemnity insurance.

Segregation reduces the risk of client deposits simply being treated as ordinary operating capital.

It does not eliminate every possible counterparty risk.

FNmarkets is still a relatively young brokerage, and Mauritius does not offer the same retail investor protection structure as every major financial jurisdiction. Traders considering holding substantial balances should therefore distinguish between four separate protections:

  • Broker regulation
  • Client-fund segregation
  • Negative balance protection
  • Investor compensation if the broker fails

FNmarkets provides evidence or statements supporting the first three. The fourth is where its protection framework is weaker than some established alternatives.

FNmarkets Standard vs Raw account

FNmarkets currently offers two core account structures.

Commission$0$7 per lot

The Standard Account is the simpler option because trading costs are primarily incorporated into the spread.

The Raw Account reduces the quoted spread to as low as 0.0 pips and adds a $7-per-lot commission.

For context, one pip on a standard 100,000-unit EUR/USD position is roughly $10. A $7 commission therefore represents roughly 0.7 pip of equivalent trading cost before adding the actual spread, slippage or financing charges.

That calculation makes Raw pricing easier to compare against a commission-free account rather than being distracted by the headline "0.0 pip" figure.

Are FNmarkets spreads and fees competitive?

FNmarkets' advertised trading costs are competitive on paper.

The Standard Account starts from 0.8 pips with no trading commission, while Raw pricing starts from 0.0 pips plus a $7-per-lot commission.

Those are advertised minimums, not guarantees of the spread a trader will receive continuously.

FNmarkets explicitly states that spreads can widen and that overnight financing charges apply to positions held past the relevant daily cutoff. Swap rates depend on the instrument, trade direction and market conditions.

Eligible clients can apply for Swap-Free conditions, although eligibility is country-dependent and FNmarkets reserves the right to remove Swap-Free status if its fair-use rules are breached.

Does FNmarkets charge deposit or withdrawal fees?

FNmarkets states that it charges no deposit or withdrawal fees itself.

Banks, card issuers or payment providers may still impose their own charges.

The minimum deposit is $50.

Minimum withdrawals currently differ by method:

MethodMinimum withdrawal
Cryptocurrency$10
Card$50
Bank transfer$50

How long do FNmarkets withdrawals take?

FNmarkets says cryptocurrency withdrawals are usually completed within about 30 minutes. Card and bank withdrawals can take three to five business days to appear. Verification checks may extend the process.

Withdrawal reliability deserves particular attention when assessing a relatively new broker.

FNmarkets' Trustpilot profile contains positive reports of successful withdrawals and negative reports about documentation or delays. These are individual customer accounts, not independently audited performance data. Neither group should be treated as proof of the experience every customer will receive.

A sensible approach is to complete KYC, fund the account conservatively and test a small withdrawal before keeping a substantially larger balance with the broker.

What is happening with FNmarkets reviews on Trustpilot?

Trustpilot currently displays a warning on FNmarkets' profile and has made its overall rating unavailable after removing fake reviews.

As of September 2026, Trustpilot states: > "This company's rating is unavailable due to a breach of our guidelines."

Trustpilot further says that it removed a number of fake reviews from FNmarkets' profile.

This does not prove that FNmarkets is fraudulent or that individual customer funds are unsafe.

It is still a legitimate reputation signal that prospective clients should consider.

It also means quoting an FNmarkets Trustpilot star rating without mentioning the warning would give readers a misleading picture of the current review profile.

Customer feedback itself is mixed. Positive reviewers frequently mention support and execution, while several negative reviews focus on withdrawal verification, account closures or promotional conditions.

For a broker review, the Trustpilot enforcement action matters more than cherry-picking either the five-star reviews or the one-star reviews.

What trading platform does FNmarkets use?

FNmarkets primarily uses MetaTrader 5, commonly known as MT5.

FNmarkets highlights MT5 features including:

  • Advanced charting and indicators
  • 21 timeframes
  • Depth of market
  • Multi-device access
  • Expert Advisor support
  • Desktop and mobile trading
  • Economic calendar functionality

FNmarkets also offers VPS support and permits automated trading through Expert Advisors.

A dedicated FNmarkets trading app is still described as a future roadmap product rather than a replacement for MT5.

Traders already comfortable with MT5 should therefore find the platform environment familiar.

What markets can you trade with FNmarkets?

FNmarkets advertises more than 100 CFD instruments through one trading platform.

The main asset classes are:

  • Forex CFDs
  • Indices
  • Metals
  • Cryptocurrency CFDs

That selection covers many forex and multi-asset CFD strategies. Traders looking for thousands of individual equities, options, exchange-traded futures or direct share ownership should not assume that FNmarkets offers the same range as a large investment broker.

These products are CFDs. Traders speculate on price movements rather than necessarily owning the underlying asset.

Is FNmarkets connected to FundedNext?

Yes, FNmarkets and FundedNext belong to the wider FN ecosystem, but they are separate businesses and separate contractual relationships.

FundedNext describes itself as a proprietary trading firm using simulated trading programmes.

FNmarkets is the CFD brokerage through which clients trade real money.

FundedNext explicitly states that opening an FNmarkets account is optional and that FundedNext is not responsible for a customer's brokerage relationship with FNmarkets.

This distinction matters because FundedNext's reputation, customer agreement or prop-trading terms should not be treated as regulatory protection for an FNmarkets brokerage account.

If you deposit money with FNmarkets, your counterparty relationship is with the applicable FNmarkets entity.

FNmarkets pros and cons

What FNmarkets does well

Low barrier to entry. A $50 minimum deposit allows traders to test the platform without committing a large amount of capital.

Competitive Raw pricing. Raw spreads start from 0.0 pips with a stated $7-per-lot commission.

MetaTrader 5. FNmarkets uses an established trading platform with EA, VPS, scalping and automated-strategy support.

Negative balance protection. Current FNmarkets documentation says customers cannot owe more than their deposited funds.

Segregated client funds. FNmarkets states that client money is separated from operational capital.

Swap-free option. Eligible Standard and Raw clients can apply for Swap-Free trading conditions.

Where FNmarkets is weaker

No Tier-1 regulatory licence yet. FNmarkets' current active regulatory framework is Mauritius FSC rather than the FCA, ASIC or another comparable major retail regulator.

Shorter track record. FNmarkets has substantially less operating history than long-established global brokers.

Trustpilot enforcement warning. Trustpilot has removed fake reviews and currently suppresses FNmarkets' overall rating.

Regulatory information online is messy. Older FNmarkets Global and Comoros references make it easy for traders to misunderstand which entity they are dealing with.

Leverage information is inconsistent. The homepage currently says "1:Unlimited", while current account documentation specifies up to 1:500.

The last two issues are avoidable transparency problems. A financial company should make it exceptionally easy for clients to understand the contracting entity and actual trading limits.

Who should consider FNmarkets?

FNmarkets is most suitable for experienced forex and CFD traders who understand leverage and Mauritius regulation and who specifically want:

FNmarkets is less suitable for traders who prioritise:

  • The strongest available retail regulatory protection
  • A decades-long operating history
  • A clean and independently verified public review profile
  • Access to a very large investment-product universe
  • Direct ownership of shares rather than CFD exposure

The trading conditions are not the main concern. The decision depends on whether FNmarkets' regulatory and reputation profile is acceptable for the amount of money you plan to keep with the broker.

FN Markets review verdict

FNmarkets is a credible but higher-risk broker choice rather than an obvious top-tier safety pick.

The positive case is straightforward. FNmarkets has a Mauritius-regulated operating entity, MetaTrader 5, a $50 minimum deposit, Raw spreads from 0.0 pips, negative balance protection, segregated funds and flexible trading conditions.

The caution case is equally clear. FNmarkets has a shorter track record than established brokers, does not currently hold the Tier-1 licences many risk-conscious traders look for, has conflicting leverage information on its own website and currently carries a Trustpilot warning after fake reviews were removed.

That does not justify calling FNmarkets a scam.

It does justify doing more due diligence than you might with a heavily regulated broker that has operated for twenty years.

The practical call: FNmarkets is worth considering if its specific MT5 trading conditions are the reason you want the broker. If regulation, institutional longevity and maximum counterparty protection are your first priorities, compare other brokers before deciding.

If you do choose FNmarkets, confirm the legal entity shown in your account agreement, complete verification and make a successful small withdrawal before scaling the balance you keep with the broker.
