Who should consider it

Currency traders comparing spread-based and commission-based accounts with a specific platform or automation workflow in mind.

What to check first

Confirm regional availability, the regulated entity, leverage limits and rollover costs. Forex and CFD losses can accumulate quickly.

Overview

Windsor Brokers is a legitimate, long-established forex and CFD broker, but whether it is a good choice depends heavily on which Windsor legal entity holds your account. The broker offers MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, more than 250 CFD instruments, a Prime account with a recommended initial deposit of $50, and spreads from 0.0 pips on its Zero account. However, regulation, maximum leverage, available products and client protections vary by jurisdiction.

Our verdict is positive but conditional. Windsor Brokers may suit traders who want an established MetaTrader broker, a choice of account pricing and access to leveraged CFD markets. We would not choose it simply because it advertises leverage of up to 1:2000. Before depositing, we would confirm the legal entity named in the account agreement and check its regulatory status.

Windsor Brokers says it has operated since 1988. Its global business currently operates through legal entities regulated in Seychelles, Jordan, Kenya and the British Virgin Islands.

Is Windsor Brokers legit?

Yes. Windsor Brokers is a legitimate broker operating through identifiable regulated companies, but traders should check which company will actually hold their account.

This matters because "Windsor Brokers" is a brand name rather than a single worldwide regulated entity.

The current regulatory picture includes:

Legal entityRegulatorWhat we verified
Windsor Brokers International LtdFinancial Services Authority, SeychellesListed in the Seychelles FSA capital-markets register under the Windsor Brokers trade name
Windsor Markets Kenya LimitedCapital Markets Authority, KenyaListed as a licensed online foreign-exchange broker, licence 156
Seldon Investments Limited, JordanJordan Securities CommissionAppears in the JSC company register; Windsor identifies the entity as JSC-regulated
Windsor Global Markets LtdBritish Virgin Islands Financial Services CommissionListed by the BVI FSC as a currently regulated entity, authorised for dealing as agent

The Seychelles Financial Services Authority currently lists Windsor Brokers International Ltd in its regulated capital-markets directory. Kenya's Capital Markets Authority lists Windsor Markets Kenya Limited under licence number 156, and the British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission lists Windsor Global Markets Ltd as currently regulated.

That is materially different from dealing with an anonymous offshore website claiming to be regulated.

However, regulation should not be treated as a binary yes/no badge. Your actual regulatory protection comes from the legal entity named in your client agreement.

What happened to Windsor Brokers' CySEC licence?

The European business formerly known as Windsor Brokers Ltd now operates as WB Trade EU Ltd, which states that it is regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission under licence 030/04.

This is one of the most important points in this Windsor Brokers review because older broker reviews can make the current corporate structure unnecessarily confusing.

WB Trade EU Ltd describes itself as "formerly known as Windsor Brokers Ltd" and says it provides services to EU clients under CySEC licence 030/04. Meanwhile, WindsorBrokers.com states that its services are not offered to people located in Europe or the United Kingdom.

So an EU trader researching the historical Windsor Brokers brand should not assume the same company, website and account terms apply to the current global Windsor Brokers offering.

For UK residents, WindsorBrokers.com specifically lists the United Kingdom among its restricted jurisdictions.

Is Windsor Brokers safe?

Windsor Brokers offers several client-protection measures, but leveraged CFD trading is not risk-free.

Windsor Brokers says client funds are held in segregated bank accounts. It also says negative balance protection prevents clients from losing more than the money deposited in their trading account.

The broker advertises client insurance of up to $5 million. According to Windsor Brokers, this cover applies to clients of Windsor Brokers International Ltd and Windsor Markets Kenya Limited. It covers specified liabilities, including errors, omissions, negligence and fraud, and is underwritten through Lloyd's of London.

The $5 million figure should not be treated as a blanket guarantee that every client balance is insured. Traders should read the policy certificate, exclusions and terms for the relevant legal entity. This is not the same as deposit insurance.

Leverage creates another source of risk. Windsor Brokers advertises leverage as high as 1:2000 for eligible accounts. High leverage can magnify losses as quickly as it increases market exposure.

Windsor Brokers pros and cons

What we like

  • Windsor Brokers has operated since 1988, giving the brand a considerably longer history than many retail CFD brokers.
  • MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 are both available across desktop, web and mobile environments.
  • Traders can choose between a commission-free Prime account and tighter-spread Zero pricing.
  • The group has regulated entities in multiple jurisdictions, with regulator records independently identifiable.
  • Negative balance protection and segregated client funds add useful safeguards.
  • The product range covers more than 250 CFD instruments across multiple asset classes.

What to consider

  • Regulatory protection varies according to the legal entity holding the account.
  • The headline 1:2000 leverage is not available everywhere and creates substantial trading risk.
  • A Zero account requires considerably more starting capital than the Prime account.
  • Windsor Brokers is unavailable through its global website in several major markets, including the United States, Europe and the United Kingdom.
  • Public customer-review sentiment is unusually polarised.
  • Traders looking for direct ownership of shares or cryptocurrencies should understand that Windsor Brokers primarily provides leveraged CFD exposure rather than conventional long-term asset ownership.

Windsor Brokers account types and fees

Windsor Brokers offers Prime, Zero and Zero VIP accounts. Prime is aimed at traders who want a lower entry requirement, while Zero accounts are aimed at traders who prioritise tighter spreads.

Windsor Brokers' help centre states that the recommended initial deposit for Prime is $50. Zero accounts require at least $1,000 when denominated in USD, EUR or GBP. JPY accounts require 150,000 JPY.

The advertised spread is only the starting spread. A "spread from 0.0 pips" claim does not mean every trade will execute at zero spread. Actual transaction cost depends on the instrument, market conditions, account type and any applicable commission.

Prime may be the simpler option for lower-volume traders because the trading cost is built into the spread and there is no separate FX commission. Higher-volume traders should compare the full cost of Zero, including commission, rather than assuming that a 0.0-pip spread is automatically cheaper.

How much leverage does Windsor Brokers offer?

Windsor Brokers advertises dynamic leverage of up to 1:2000, but the maximum depends on the client's legal entity and the instrument being traded.

Windsor Brokers states that clients under Windsor Markets Kenya Limited can use maximum leverage of 1:400. Clients under Seldon Investments Limited in Jordan can use up to 1:100 on forex, currency and metals CFDs, and up to 1:500 on other CFDs.

The headline figure therefore does not apply to every Windsor Brokers client.

At 1:2000 leverage, a relatively small price movement can have a large effect on account equity. Traders should treat the leverage limit as a risk parameter, not as a benefit that needs to be maximised.

What can you trade with Windsor Brokers?

Windsor Brokers offers more than 250 CFD instruments across forex, shares, indices, commodities, cryptocurrencies, energies, ETFs, treasuries and spot metals.

Available markets include:

  • Forex and currency CFDs
  • Global indices
  • Commodities
  • Shares
  • Cryptocurrencies
  • Energies
  • ETFs
  • Treasuries
  • Spot metals

Product availability varies by jurisdiction. Windsor Brokers states that cryptocurrency CFDs are unavailable to clients registered under its Jordan and Kenya entities, as well as to residents of Jordan, Palestine and Iraq.

Windsor Brokers is therefore better suited to active multi-asset CFD trading than to buying and holding underlying investments.

Does Windsor Brokers offer MT4 and MT5?

Yes. Windsor Brokers offers both MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5.

MetaTrader 4 may suit traders who already use MT4 Expert Advisors, indicators or trading workflows. MetaTrader 5 includes 38 built-in indicators, 21 timeframes, market-depth functionality and an integrated economic calendar.

Both platforms are available on desktop, web and mobile.

Windsor Brokers also offers an account-management app and WB Copy Trading. The copy-trading service lets clients choose strategy providers, adjust trade sizes and risk settings, and copy trades automatically. Availability depends on jurisdiction.

Are Windsor Brokers withdrawals reliable?

Windsor Brokers says withdrawal requests are processed within one working day. The time required for funds to reach the customer depends on the payment method.

Bank transfers can take up to seven business days after processing, according to the broker. Withdrawals connected to certain promotional offers may require additional checks.

Windsor Brokers says withdrawal charges are applied by the relevant payment provider rather than directly by the broker. Deposit charges may also depend on the bank or payment service.

We have not personally funded and withdrawn from a Windsor Brokers account for this review. Its published processing times should therefore not be treated as independently tested results.

What do Windsor Brokers customers say?

Windsor Brokers has mixed and highly divided public feedback.

As of 10 September 2026, Trustpilot showed Windsor Brokers with a score of approximately 3.4 out of 5 from 109 reviews. About 49% of reviews were five-star, while approximately 42% were one-star.

The distribution matters because the average score alone hides how divided the feedback is.

Positive reviewers often mention customer support and long-term use. Negative reviews include complaints about account restrictions, communication and disputed funds. Some reviews also appear to involve alleged impersonation scams or third parties that Windsor Brokers says were unrelated to the company.

Review platforms are useful for identifying reported experiences, but they do not establish whether a broker is safe or fraudulent. Regulator records, legal documents, account agreements and transaction evidence carry more weight.

Who is Windsor Brokers best for?

Windsor Brokers is best suited to intermediate and experienced traders who understand leveraged CFDs and want MetaTrader infrastructure.

It may be worth considering if you:

  • Want both MT4 and MT5.
  • Trade forex or CFDs actively rather than investing passively.
  • Prefer a choice between spread-only and commission-based pricing.
  • Live in a jurisdiction served by one of Windsor Brokers' regulated entities.
  • Intend to use Expert Advisors, hedging or copy-trading features.

Windsor Brokers is less suitable if you want long-term ownership of underlying investments, require a UK or US regulated account, or are choosing a broker mainly because it offers the highest possible leverage.

Is Windsor Brokers a scam?

We found regulated Windsor entities in official regulator registers, so describing Windsor Brokers itself as an unregulated scam would not be supported by the evidence.

The Seychelles FSA lists Windsor Brokers International Ltd, Kenya's CMA lists Windsor Markets Kenya Limited, and the BVI FSC lists Windsor Global Markets Ltd as a currently regulated entity.

That does not mean every website, social-media account or person using the Windsor name is legitimate.

Before transferring funds, confirm that:

  • You are using the official website for your jurisdiction.
  • The legal entity on the account agreement matches an authorised company.
  • The regulator and registration details can be independently verified.
  • Payments are being sent through the broker's official client portal rather than to an individual or unrelated third party.

This check matters particularly because impersonation and investment scams can misuse the names of genuine regulated financial companies.

Windsor Brokers review verdict

Windsor Brokers is a legitimate and credible option for eligible forex and CFD traders, but it is not a broker we would choose without first checking the account's regulatory entity.

The strongest reasons to consider Windsor Brokers are its operating history since 1988, MT4 and MT5 support, multiple account structures, more than 250 CFD instruments and independently identifiable regulated entities. Its $50 recommended Prime deposit also makes the standard account relatively accessible.

The biggest limitation is not the trading software or product range. It is jurisdictional complexity.

A trader signing with the Seychelles entity, Kenyan entity, Jordanian entity or another Windsor company can face different leverage limits, available products and legal protections. EU customers researching the historical Windsor Brokers name should also understand that the EU-facing company now operates as WB Trade EU Ltd, while WindsorBrokers.com does not serve Europe or the UK.

Final verdict: Windsor Brokers is worth considering if its pricing and MetaTrader offering suit your trading style and the entity available in your country provides a regulatory framework you are comfortable with. Do not choose it purely for a bonus or the headline 1:2000 leverage.
