Overview
FXTM is a legitimate forex and CFD broker with competitive raw-spread pricing, MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, more than 1,000 tradable instruments and leverage reaching 1:5,000 on some accounts. However, FXTM is not our first choice for traders who prioritise top-tier regulatory protection above trading conditions.
The biggest reason is regulatory change. FXTM's main global operating company, Exinity Limited, is regulated by the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius and licensed by South Africa's Financial Sector Conduct Authority. FXTM's former CySEC licence was withdrawn in May 2024 after Forextime Ltd voluntarily renounced it, while FXTM UK ceased trading services in April 2026. UK residents are now specifically excluded from Exinity Limited's services.
For traders outside restricted jurisdictions, FXTM remains attractive if you specifically want MetaTrader, very high leverage, raw spreads or a low-deposit cent account. Traders primarily concerned about regulatory jurisdiction, frequent withdrawals or keeping an account dormant should compare alternatives before depositing.
Our verdict: FXTM is a credible broker with some genuinely competitive trading conditions, but its current regulatory structure and several non-trading fees stop it being an automatic recommendation.

Is FXTM safe and legit?
Yes. FXTM is a legitimate regulated broker, but the protection attached to your account depends on the legal entity serving you.
For most international users of fxtm.com, that company is Exinity Limited. FXTM states that Exinity Limited holds Mauritius FSC Investment Dealer licence C113012295 and South African FSCA FSP licence 50320. The South African authorisation includes approval as an Over the Counter Derivative Provider.
FXTM also lists Exinity Capital East Africa Ltd, which is regulated by Kenya's Capital Markets Authority under licence 135. Its UAE company is authorised for Category 5 promotion and introduction activities. FXTM does not present that UAE company as the main entity executing its global CFD offering.
Older FXTM reviews often mention FCA and CySEC regulation without explaining what changed.
Forextime Ltd's CySEC authorisation, number 185/12, was withdrawn on 20 May 2024 after the company renounced the licence. CySEC now lists Forextime Ltd as a former investment firm.
FXTM UK later announced that Exinity UK Ltd would close its FXTM trading services and cease business operations from 7 April 2026. The current global FXTM website lists the United Kingdom as a jurisdiction where Exinity Limited does not provide services.
That does not make FXTM unsafe or illegitimate. It does mean that describing FXTM as "FCA and CySEC regulated" is no longer an accurate summary for a new international customer in 2026.
FXTM also states that client money is held separately from company funds.
Is FXTM a scam?
There is no evidence in the regulatory information reviewed here that FXTM itself is a scam. The broker operates through identifiable companies that hold financial-services licences.
That does not mean every person claiming to represent FXTM is genuine. Financial brands are often impersonated. Register through the official FXTM website and never send money to an individual who says a personal payment is needed to release your trading profits.
Regulation also does not make CFD trading safe. Leverage can produce large losses, particularly at the levels available through some FXTM accounts.

The tighter the spread, the more it costs to open the account.
FXTM's Help Centre lists minimum deposits of:
The $500 Advantage minimum is easy to miss because older FXTM reviews often quote $200.
Which FXTM account is best?
The Advantage account is the most suitable FXTM account for active forex traders who want raw spreads and are comfortable paying a separate commission.
FXTM lists forex commission at $3.50 per lot per side. A standard one-lot trade opened and closed therefore carries $7 in commission before the spread and any overnight financing are added.
"Spreads from 0.0 pips" does not mean every trade will have a zero spread. It is the lowest published figure. Your actual spread depends on the instrument and market conditions.
Rewards and Rewards Plus do not charge a separate commission. More of the trading cost is included in the spread, which may be easier to calculate.
The Micro account is the lowest-cost entry point. It uses cent-based balances, starts at $30 and is intended for smaller position sizes and strategy testing. It is limited to MT4 and has a narrower market range than FXTM's main accounts.
How expensive is FXTM?
FXTM can be competitively priced for active traders using Advantage, but the trading commission is only one part of the total cost.
Check these costs before opening an account:
- spread
- commission
- overnight swap or financing
- withdrawal method
- inactivity
- currency conversion or payment-provider charges where applicable
The $7 round-turn forex commission on Advantage is easy to understand. The less predictable part is the spread you receive on the markets and during the sessions you trade.
That is why comparing brokers on "spreads from 0.0" alone is not enough. Compare the total cost for your own instruments, position sizes and holding periods.
Does FXTM charge an inactivity fee?
Yes. FXTM states that an account with no trading activity for three months can be charged $10, €10 or £10 per month until trading resumes or the balance reaches zero.
This fee makes FXTM less suitable for someone who deposits money and may leave the account unused for several months.
FXTM deposits and withdrawals
FXTM supports cards, bank transfers, e-wallets, cryptocurrency and various local payment methods. The cost and processing time depend on the method used.
FXTM's Help Centre lists the following withdrawal charges:
- Skrill and Neteller withdrawals: free
- Cryptocurrency withdrawals: free
- Card withdrawals: $3, €3 or £3
- Bank wire withdrawals: $30
- Withdrawal after depositing without placing a trade: 3% fee
There is a conflict in FXTM's published information. The main account comparison page says that FXTM does not charge deposit or withdrawal fees, while the dedicated Help Centre page lists the charges above.
For an account involving real money, the specific payment-method terms are more useful than the broader marketing statement. Check the charges shown in your account before depositing.
FXTM says approved withdrawals are released within 24 business hours. Its Help Centre then gives these estimated processing times after release:
Your payment provider can add extra processing time.
FXTM also generally requires withdrawals to be sent through the same payment route used for the deposit. That is a common anti-money-laundering control, but it can create extra verification work.
Are there FXTM withdrawal problems?
Public reviews contain repeated complaints about withdrawal verification and customer support, but they do not prove that FXTM has a systemic withdrawal problem.
As of 10 September 2026, FXTM's Trustpilot profile showed a TrustScore of 2.5 out of 5 from more than 1,000 reviews. Recent negative reviews include complaints about verification and withdrawals. Other users report successful deposits and withdrawals.
Review sites can help identify recurring points of friction, but individual allegations are not independently verified facts.
The practical approach is to complete identity and payment-method checks before funding a large account. It is also sensible to test a withdrawal with a smaller amount before increasing your balance.
Which trading platforms does FXTM offer?
FXTM supports MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5 and the FXTM App.
MetaTrader 4 remains useful for traders who already use MQL4 indicators, Expert Advisors or automated strategies. FXTM's MT4 service supports forex, metals and other CFD markets, as well as VPS and Expert Advisor functionality.
MetaTrader 5 is the better fit for traders who want broader market coverage and more built-in platform tools. FXTM's MT5 offering includes forex, stocks, indices, metals, commodities and cryptocurrency markets, subject to the account and jurisdiction.
The FXTM App provides mobile trading, market information and account access on Android and iOS. FXTM also offers tools from Trading Central and FX Blue.
For an algorithmic trader who already works with MetaTrader, platform support is one of FXTM's strongest points.
What can you trade with FXTM?
FXTM advertises more than 1,000 instruments across:
- forex
- metals
- commodities
- indices
- stock CFDs
- stocks
- cryptocurrencies
- futures CFDs
- ETF CFDs
- crosses
Most of the offering is CFD-based. FXTM also offers outright stock exposure through suitable account types.
The market range is broad enough for traders who want forex, commodities, indices, stocks and crypto within one broker account.
How much leverage does FXTM offer?
FXTM offers floating leverage of up to 1:5,000 on Rewards and Rewards Plus accounts in eligible jurisdictions.
Current maximums include:
- Micro: up to 1:1,000
- Rewards Plus: up to 1:5,000
- Rewards: up to 1:5,000
- Advantage: up to 1:3,000
Kenyan clients are limited to a maximum of 1:400 through Exinity Capital East Africa Ltd.
The available leverage can fall as total exposure increases.
High leverage is not automatically an advantage. At 1:5,000, a small price movement can create a large change in account equity. It can reduce the capital needed to open a position, but it can also accelerate losses when position sizes are too large.
What are the main advantages of FXTM?
FXTM's main strengths are its MetaTrader support, account choice and range of markets.
The key advantages are:
- Raw spreads from 0.0 pips on Advantage
- Clear $7 round-turn forex commission on the Advantage account
- MT4 and MT5 support
- Expert Advisor and automated-trading compatibility
- More than 1,000 advertised instruments
- $30 Micro account for small-scale trading and strategy testing
- Very high leverage for eligible experienced traders
- Dedicated FXTM mobile app
- Trading Central and FX Blue tools
- Segregation of client funds according to FXTM
FXTM has a clear use case for traders who want MetaTrader, flexible account structures and access to several asset classes.
What are the main disadvantages of FXTM?
The main drawbacks are the regulatory jurisdiction, non-trading charges and differences between FXTM's published fee pages.
The disadvantages include:
- FXTM UK stopped trading services in 2026
- The former CySEC licence was withdrawn in 2024
- The principal global entity is regulated in Mauritius rather than through a current UK or EU FXTM entity
- Card and bank-wire withdrawal fees apply according to FXTM's Help Centre
- Monthly inactivity charges start after three months without trading
- Public customer reviews show recurring complaints around verification, withdrawals and support
- The Advantage account now requires a $500 initial deposit
- Leverage up to 1:5,000 creates substantial risk and is unsuitable for inexperienced traders without strict position sizing
These points do not make FXTM unusable. They narrow the group of traders for whom it makes sense.
Who is FXTM best for?
FXTM is best suited to active traders outside restricted jurisdictions who specifically want MetaTrader, raw-spread pricing, automated trading or high leverage.
The Advantage account is the most relevant option for experienced forex traders focused on trading costs and MetaTrader strategies.
The Micro account is better suited to beginners who want small nominal positions rather than a standard account from the start.
FXTM may also suit traders who want forex, commodities, metals, indices, stocks and crypto through one broker relationship.
Who should avoid FXTM?
FXTM is probably not the right choice if:
- you live in the United Kingdom or another restricted jurisdiction
- having an active FCA or EU investment-firm relationship is your primary criterion
- you frequently withdraw smaller amounts by bank wire
- you regularly leave funded trading accounts dormant for more than three months
- very high available leverage is likely to encourage you to overtrade
- you want the simplest possible broker fee structure
The relevant comparison is not just which broker advertises the lowest spread. Compare the legal entity, fee schedule, platform and account rules with the way you trade.
Is FXTM good for beginners?
FXTM can work for beginners because the Micro account starts at $30 and uses cent-based balances. The high leverage available through some accounts means new traders need strict position sizing and risk controls.
FXTM also provides educational material covering forex, CFDs, technical analysis, position sizing and related subjects.
A demo account or Micro account is a more sensible starting point than choosing maximum leverage because it is available.
Is FXTM available in the UK?
No. New UK traders should not treat FXTM as an available UK retail broker.
FXTM UK announced that Exinity UK Ltd would stop its FXTM trading services from 7 April 2026. Exinity Limited's current global terms list the United Kingdom as a restricted jurisdiction.
This corrects older FXTM reviews that still present FCA regulation as a reason to open a new account.
What is the FXTM minimum deposit?
The minimum deposit depends on the account.
FXTM's lowest current minimum deposit is $30 for Micro. Rewards Plus starts at $100, Rewards and Advantage Stocks start at $200, and Advantage starts at $500.
Older reviews that quote $200 as the Advantage minimum are out of date.
Does FXTM charge withdrawal fees?
Yes, some withdrawal methods carry a fee.
FXTM's Help Centre lists:
Another FXTM page says that FXTM does not charge deposit or withdrawal fees in general. Check the payment-method terms displayed in your account before funding it.
Final verdict: is FXTM worth using in 2026?
FXTM is worth considering for experienced MetaTrader traders who want raw-spread pricing, broad market access and high leverage. It is less attractive for traders who put regulatory jurisdiction and maximum client protection first.
The trading offer is credible. Advantage provides spreads from 0.0 pips with a stated forex commission, FXTM supports MT4 and MT5, and the broker advertises more than 1,000 instruments.
The regulatory position needs closer attention. FXTM's CySEC licence is no longer active, FXTM UK stopped trading services in 2026, and most international users deal with Exinity Limited under the Mauritius regulatory framework.
The practical costs also matter. The three-month inactivity fee and payment-method-specific withdrawal charges are easy to overlook.
Our call: shortlist FXTM if MetaTrader, raw pricing or flexible leverage are major criteria. If the regulatory jurisdiction matters more than leverage and trading conditions, compare FXTM with brokers holding an active top-tier licence in your country before opening an account.
Trading leveraged forex and CFDs involves substantial risk and can result in the loss of your capital. Products, leverage and regulatory protections vary by country and legal entity.
