Who should consider it

Currency traders comparing spread-based and commission-based accounts with a specific platform or automation workflow in mind.

What to check first

Confirm regional availability, the regulated entity, leverage limits and rollover costs. Forex and CFD losses can accumulate quickly.

Overview

Trade Nation is a good choice for CFD and spread-betting traders who value predictable fixed spreads, TradingView integration and strong regulatory coverage. It is not the best choice for investors who want to buy and own real shares, ETFs or other long-term investments.

The strongest reason to choose Trade Nation is its pricing model. TN Trader and its TradingView integration offer low-cost fixed spreads on many markets, which means your spread does not suddenly widen simply because volatility increases. MetaTrader 4 is also available, although MT4 uses variable rather than fixed spreads.

Trade Nation is regulated through multiple legal entities, including the UK Financial Conduct Authority, Australian Securities and Investments Commission and regulators in Portugal, South Africa, the Bahamas and Seychelles. However, the exact protections, leverage limits, funding methods and trading conditions you receive depend on which Trade Nation entity holds your account.

Our verdict: Trade Nation deserves a place on the shortlist if you actively trade CFDs, forex or indices and prefer knowing your spread before entering a position. Look elsewhere if your priority is owning investments, using MT5 or cTrader, or accessing the largest possible range of markets.

> Risk warning: CFDs and financial spread bets are leveraged products. Trade Nation's UK website currently states that 73.7% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs with the provider.

Is Trade Nation legit?

Yes. Trade Nation is a legitimate brokerage group operating through several regulated entities.

For UK customers, Trade Nation Financial UK Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority under firm reference number 525164. The FCA also lists the genuine company and tradenation.com when warning consumers about unrelated clone firms.

Trade Nation's regulatory structure includes:

These entities appear in Trade Nation's legal documentation.

The entity matters because an FCA-regulated account does not provide the same protections as an account with the Bahamas or Seychelles entity. Leverage, funding options, client protections and legal recourse can differ.

Check the legal entity shown during registration before depositing funds. The existence of an FCA licence does not mean every Trade Nation account is covered by the FCA.

Does Trade Nation keep client money separate?

For UK customers, yes. Trade Nation's terms state that client money is held under the FCA Client Money Rules and kept separate from the company's own funds. Trade Nation also says customer funds are held with established banking partners.

Trade Nation Australia states that client money is held in segregated accounts and is not used to meet Trade Nation's own margin requirements.

Retail customers in several Trade Nation jurisdictions also receive negative balance protection. This is intended to prevent a retail account from leaving the trader owing more than the protected account balance.

Professional-client protections can be different. UK elective professional clients may lose protections such as negative balance protection, Financial Ombudsman access and potentially FSCS protection.

What makes Trade Nation different?

Trade Nation's main differentiator is fixed-spread trading rather than an enormous product catalogue or unusually complicated account structure.

Most CFD brokers price trades using variable spreads. Those spreads can become wider when liquidity falls or volatility rises.

Trade Nation instead offers fixed spreads across many forex, index and commodity markets when using TN Trader. The same Trade Nation pricing can be accessed through its TradingView integration.

That has a simple advantage.

If a market is quoted with a fixed spread when you enter a trade, your expected spread cost is easier to calculate in advance.

It does not automatically mean Trade Nation is always the cheapest broker. A raw-spread or aggressively priced variable-spread account can be cheaper during highly liquid trading periods. What Trade Nation sells is primarily cost certainty, not a mathematical guarantee of the lowest possible price on every trade.

That distinction is important when comparing Trade Nation with raw-spread forex brokers.

Trade Nation spreads and fees

Trade Nation builds most trading costs into the spread. It advertises zero commission across core UK forex, index, share and commodity markets. Rolling positions can also incur overnight financing.

Fixed spreads vary by instrument and jurisdiction.

For example, Trade Nation's UK market information lists Gold with a fixed spread of 4 per 0.1 unit. The variable-spread version starts from 3.6.

An international TradingView market-information sheet lists these examples:

Forex pairPublished spread
AUD/USD0.4
AUD/CHF0.9
AUD/JPY1.0
AUD/CAD1.2
AUD/NZD1.5

These figures can change by market and jurisdiction. Use Trade Nation's latest market information sheet rather than relying on a spread quoted in an older review.

Overnight financing

Rolling CFD or spread-trade positions held overnight can incur financing charges.

Trade Nation states that financing is generally based on the relevant prevailing or interbank interest rate with a 2.5% adjustment, depending on the position and market. Futures-based contracts do not carry the same overnight financing structure.

This matters more than the headline spread for anyone holding leveraged positions for days or weeks.

A broker can look cheap based on the entry spread and become expensive after repeated overnight funding charges.

Trade Nation platforms

Trade Nation offers TN Trader, TradingView and MetaTrader 4. TradeCopier is available separately for copy trading. TN Trader is Trade Nation's proprietary platform and the main option for traders who want fixed spreads. The platform provides access to hundreds of CFD markets, trading signals, market updates, news and mobile trading. TN Trader is more closely tied to Trade Nation's fixed-spread offering than MT4. Trade Nation connects directly to TradingView. Traders can use TradingView's charts and interface while placing orders through their Trade Nation account. TradingView provides the charting environment. Trade Nation remains the broker and counterparty. This combination is useful for traders who already carry out most of their technical analysis on TradingView. Trade Nation supports MetaTrader 4, including Expert Advisors, backtesting, one-click trading, trailing stops and familiar technical-analysis tools. The main limitation is pricing. Trade Nation states that MT4 uses variable spreads, while fixed spreads are available through TN Trader. Trade Nation's current platform lineup does not include MetaTrader 5 or cTrader. Traders who require either platform will need to compare other brokers. Trade Nation offers copy trading through its TradeCopier app. TradeCopier connects to a Trade Nation MT4 account and can mirror selected traders and strategies automatically. Past performance does not guarantee future results. Copy trading still requires risk controls and does not remove the risk of leveraged trading.

TN Trader

TN Trader is Trade Nation's proprietary platform and is the clearest reason to use the broker if fixed spreads are your priority.

TN Trader provides access to hundreds of CFD markets, fixed spreads, trading signals, market updates, news and mobile trading.

It is the more distinctive Trade Nation product compared with MT4 because the fixed-spread proposition is built around TN Trader.

TradingView

Trade Nation can connect directly to TradingView, allowing traders to execute orders from TradingView while using their Trade Nation account and Trade Nation pricing.

TradingView provides the interface and charting environment, while Trade Nation remains the broker and counterparty to the trade.

For traders already doing most of their technical analysis in TradingView, this is arguably Trade Nation's strongest platform combination.

MetaTrader 4

Trade Nation also supports MetaTrader 4.

MT4 provides Expert Advisors, backtesting, one-click trading, trailing stops and familiar technical-analysis tools. However, Trade Nation explicitly states that MT4 uses variable spreads rather than the fixed spreads available through TN Trader.

There is no current Trade Nation offering for MetaTrader 5 or cTrader shown in its official platform lineup.

If either platform is essential to your strategy, Trade Nation is therefore unlikely to be the best fit.

TradeCopier

Some older Trade Nation reviews say the broker has no copy trading. That information is now stale.

Trade Nation currently offers copy trading through its TradeCopier app. TradeCopier connects to a Trade Nation MT4 account and can automatically mirror selected traders and strategies.

This is worth checking carefully because copied historical performance does not guarantee future performance, and copying another trader adds another layer of risk management rather than removing it.

What can you trade with Trade Nation?

Trade Nation advertises more than 1,000 global markets across major CFD categories.

Available markets include:

  • Forex currency pairs
  • Global stock indices
  • Individual share CFDs
  • Precious metals
  • Energy markets
  • Soft commodities
  • Bonds
  • Cryptocurrency CFDs in some jurisdictions

The exact list varies by account, platform and jurisdiction.

The important distinction is that Trade Nation is not primarily a traditional investment broker.

When trading a CFD on a company such as Apple or BP, you are speculating on the movement of the underlying share price. You are not buying the underlying share itself.

If your objective is to build a long-term portfolio of real shares, ETFs or funds, a conventional investment platform is a better fit.

What is the Trade Nation minimum deposit?

There is no sensible single global minimum-deposit figure for Trade Nation because its own regional pages show different requirements depending on jurisdiction and payment method.

For UK customers, Trade Nation currently states that minimum deposits can range from £0.01 to £5 depending on the selected payment method, with some payment providers imposing their own minimum transaction sizes.

Other Trade Nation regional payment pages show different requirements. Some international payment routes currently show $50 minimums, while other regional pages state that no broker-set minimum applies to certain methods.

This is one area where generic broker comparison tables can be misleading.

The useful answer is:

Check the Trade Nation entity and payment method available during your own registration process before depositing.

Trade Nation withdrawals

Trade Nation states that it does not charge broker withdrawal fees. Banks and payment providers may still apply their own charges.

For UK customers, Trade Nation lists these typical processing times:

  • Usually instant to cards
  • Around 2 to 5 business days by bank transfer
  • Usually within one business day to supported e-wallets

The stated minimum withdrawal is 50 units of the account currency.

That threshold is unlikely to matter on a large account, but it can be inconvenient if you want to withdraw the final balance from a small account.

Trade Nation also follows anti-money-laundering controls, which generally means returning funds to their original funding source.

Trade Nation leverage

Retail leverage depends on the jurisdiction and asset being traded.

For European retail clients, Trade Nation currently lists:

  • Forex: up to 30:1
  • Gold: up to 20:1
  • Indices: up to 20:1
  • Stocks: up to 5:1

Higher leverage may be available through other jurisdictions or to qualifying professional customers.

More leverage is not inherently better. A 30:1 leveraged position means relatively small market movements can create disproportionately large changes in account equity.

For that reason, comparing brokers purely on maximum leverage is a poor way to decide which broker is better.

Does Trade Nation offer guaranteed stop losses?

Yes, but only for a limited range of contracts. Trade Nation's UK terms state that Guaranteed Stop Loss Orders are available through its proprietary platform, subject to the relevant product terms.

A guaranteed stop is different from a normal stop-loss order. A normal stop can be filled away from its requested level during a market gap.

Check the market and account terms before relying on a guaranteed stop.

What do Trade Nation customers say?

Trade Nation had a 4.4 out of 5 Trustpilot score from 2,088 reviews when checked on 11 September 2026. Approximately 75% of the reviews were five-star and 8% were one-star at that snapshot.

Recent positive reviews commonly mention ease of use, customer support, withdrawals and TradingView integration.

That is useful sentiment evidence, but a Trustpilot score should not be treated as proof that a broker is financially safe or appropriate for a particular trader.

For broker due diligence, regulatory status, client-money rules, legal entity and withdrawal terms matter more than a review-platform average.

Trade Nation pros and cons

Trade Nation advantages

  • Fixed spreads: TN Trader gives traders greater certainty over the spread they will pay.
  • Strong regulatory footprint: Trade Nation operates through FCA, ASIC, CMVM and several additional regulated entities.
  • TradingView integration: Traders can analyse and execute directly through TradingView.
  • MT4 support: Useful for Expert Advisors, automation and traders already familiar with MetaTrader 4.
  • Copy trading now available: TradeCopier adds a feature missing from some older reviews.
  • No broker withdrawal fees advertised: Trade Nation currently absorbs its own payment-processing costs on supported routes.
  • Negative balance protection: Available for retail customers across several entities.
  • Demo account: Traders can test Trade Nation before committing real capital.

Trade Nation disadvantages

  • Not a conventional investment platform: The offering is centred on leveraged derivatives rather than ownership of shares and ETFs.
  • No MT5 or cTrader in the current platform lineup: That will immediately rule Trade Nation out for some forex traders.
  • Fixed does not always mean cheapest: Variable or raw spreads may occasionally be cheaper during liquid market conditions.
  • Overnight financing matters: Holding rolling leveraged positions for longer periods can substantially alter the total cost.
  • £/$/€50 withdrawal floor: Small account holders may find the minimum withdrawal inconvenient.
  • Jurisdiction differences complicate comparisons: Leverage, deposits, payment methods and protections are not identical worldwide.

Who should use Trade Nation?

Trade Nation suits active traders who value predictable transaction costs more than a large platform and product range.

It may be worth considering if you:

  • Trade indices, forex or commodities regularly
  • Prefer fixed rather than variable spreads
  • Want to trade directly through TradingView
  • Already use MetaTrader 4
  • Want FCA-regulated spread betting in the UK
  • Prefer a simple pricing structure without separate trading commissions on core markets

Who should avoid Trade Nation?

Trade Nation is a poor fit if your objective is long-term investing rather than leveraged trading.

Consider another provider if you:

  • Want to buy and own real shares or ETFs
  • Need MetaTrader 5
  • Need cTrader
  • Want the broadest possible multi-asset product catalogue
  • Want a raw-spread ECN-style pricing model
  • Regularly hold leveraged positions for long periods and are sensitive to overnight financing costs

The decision comes down to the product you actually need.

A trader looking for predictable spreads on the UK 100 has a very different requirement from an investor trying to build a 20-year ETF portfolio.

Is Trade Nation a scam?

No evidence reviewed for this Trade Nation review suggests that the genuine Trade Nation brokerage at tradenation.com is a scam. Trade Nation operates through multiple regulated entities, including an FCA-authorised UK company.

There is, however, an important catch.

The FCA has published warnings about clone firms impersonating Trade Nation and using similar names or websites. Those clone operations are not associated with the legitimate broker.

UK customers can verify the genuine company using:

Trade Nation Financial UK Ltd FCA Firm Reference Number: 525164

Do not assume that a website, WhatsApp account or salesperson using the Trade Nation name is genuine simply because they quote the real company's FCA number.

Is Trade Nation good for beginners?

Trade Nation can be easy to learn from a platform perspective, but CFDs themselves are not beginner-friendly financial products.

Trade Nation offers a demo account, educational resources and a relatively straightforward proprietary trading platform. Those features make learning the software easier.

That should not be confused with making leveraged trading low risk.

Trade Nation currently states that 73.7% of its UK retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs.

Beginners should therefore use the demo environment to understand order types, margin, leverage and position sizing before risking real capital.

Does Trade Nation have MT5?

No. Trade Nation's current platform lineup includes TN Trader, TradingView and MetaTrader 4, but not MetaTrader 5.

Traders whose Expert Advisors or workflow require MT5 will need another broker.

Does Trade Nation offer copy trading?

Yes. Trade Nation offers copy trading through TradeCopier.

TradeCopier connects to a Trade Nation MT4 account and can automatically mirror selected trading strategies.

This corrects older Trade Nation reviews that still describe the broker as having no copy-trading facility.

Final verdict: is Trade Nation worth using?

Trade Nation is worth considering if fixed spreads, TradingView and regulated CFD trading are your priorities. Its proposition is weaker if you want real asset ownership, MT5, cTrader or the broadest possible market selection.

The fixed-spread model is the deciding factor.

Trade Nation is not trying to win by offering every platform, every financial product or the most complicated account structure. Its strongest pitch is simpler: give active traders predictable spread costs and let them trade through TN Trader, TradingView or MT4.

For the right trader, that is genuinely useful.

For everyone else, there is little reason to choose Trade Nation merely because it is regulated or has a good Trustpilot rating. Plenty of brokers can make those claims.

Choose Trade Nation if you specifically value its fixed-spread model. Otherwise, compare the broker against alternatives based on your preferred platform, market, holding period and regulatory jurisdiction before opening an account.
