Overview

SimpleFX is a legitimate operating CFD broker, but it would not be my first choice for traders whose main priority is top-tier regulatory protection. Its strongest points are a simple proprietary trading platform, more than 1,000 instruments, crypto and fiat funding, no minimum deposit, demo trading, API access and leverage of up to 1:1000 in eligible jurisdictions.

The trade-off is regulation. SimpleFX operates through several legal entities, including entities associated with regulatory licences in Mauritius and South Africa, plus a Panama entity. However, SimpleFX is not authorised under the UK or EU regulatory frameworks and explicitly states that customers using its services are not protected by an EU or UK investor compensation fund.

That makes SimpleFX more attractive to traders prioritising flexible funding, crypto compatibility, high leverage and platform features than to someone who wants the strongest possible investor-protection regime.

SimpleFX review verdict: 7/10.

Is SimpleFX legit?

Yes, SimpleFX is an operating trading platform with identifiable legal entities, published agreements and active trading services.

SimpleFX names 8TECH LTD in Mauritius, 8TECH ZA (PTY) LTD in South Africa and 8TECH PA LLC in Panama as part of its current group structure. The company also publishes customer agreements, risk disclosures, AML documentation, client-money policies and other legal documents.

The Panama entity, 8TECH PA LLC, appears in the KUNAISA public registry with FOREX licence FX0032026. KUNAISA lists its business activity as trading contracts for difference and gives an issue date of 15 June 2026. That means it is not accurate to describe SimpleFX as an unregulated broker in 2026. Several older reviews still use that description, but they do not reflect the current group structure.

There is a qualification concerning the South African licence. SimpleFX identifies 8TECH ZA (PTY) LTD as the holder of FSCA FSP licence 53073. Older official FSCA CASP lists from 2024 associated FSP 53073 with Crypto Villa (Pty) Ltd. More recent broker databases identify 8TECH ZA under the same licence number.

This could reflect a company rename, an ownership change or a later regulatory update. I would still verify the current legal entity directly before depositing a material amount.

The entity named in your contract determines the regulation, legal recourse and trading conditions that apply to your account.

Is SimpleFX safe?

SimpleFX has account-protection measures, but its regulatory safety profile is weaker than that of brokers operating under major UK or EU investor-protection frameworks.

SimpleFX provides negative balance protection. This is intended to stop an account from falling below zero after positions are closed. Its help documentation states that the stop-out mechanism activates when the margin level reaches 30%.

For 8TECH LTD in Mauritius, SimpleFX's client-money policy says that client funds are recorded separately from company funds. The policy also refers to reconciliation and external audit procedures.

These measures do not remove counterparty or regulatory risk.

SimpleFX states that its services sit outside the EU and UK regulatory framework and that users are not covered by the Investor Compensation Fund. The broker also does not provide services to citizens or residents of the United States.

I would describe SimpleFX as a functioning broker with account safeguards, but not as a broker offering the same regulatory protection as a strongly regulated FCA or comparable European firm.

What can you trade on SimpleFX?

SimpleFX offers more than 1,000 instruments across forex, cryptocurrencies, equities, indices, commodities, metals and other CFD markets.

The exact selection depends on your jurisdiction. SimpleFX advertises more than 1,000 instruments, while its mobile platform lists over 1,000 trading symbols.

The range includes markets such as EUR/USD, Bitcoin, Ethereum, gold, oil, major equity indices and individual shares. This lets traders access several asset classes through one account.

Most of these products are CFDs rather than the underlying assets. A Bitcoin CFD, for example, tracks the BTC/USD price but does not give you custody of Bitcoin.

What are the SimpleFX fees and spreads?

SimpleFX primarily uses spread-based pricing and advertises no commission for opening or closing trades. Deposits are generally free from SimpleFX, but withdrawal fees and overnight financing costs can still apply.

Spreads are floating. They can widen during lower-liquidity periods or major economic events, so a headline spread should never be treated as a guaranteed trading cost. SimpleFX explicitly states that spreads can change according to market conditions.

For example, SimpleFX currently publishes a target spread of 0.00007 on EUR/USD. Its BTC/USD specification publishes a considerably wider crypto spread, as you would expect from the different underlying market. Those figures should be treated as instrument specifications rather than guaranteed execution prices.

Positions left open overnight may also incur a swap or rollover fee. The rate depends on the instrument and whether the position is long or short.

This means "zero commission" does not mean "free trading". Your real cost is: spread + overnight financing, where applicable + withdrawal/payment costs + any slippage between the quoted and executed price.

That is the number worth comparing against another broker.

How much leverage does SimpleFX offer?

SimpleFX offers leverage of up to 1:1000 in eligible jurisdictions, but the maximum depends on the instrument and account.

For example, SimpleFX displays a 0.10% margin requirement on EUR/USD for a 1:1000 account. Its BTC/USD specification shows a 1% margin requirement and maximum leverage of 1:100.

This distinction is important because a generic claim such as "SimpleFX offers 1:1000 leverage" does not mean every customer can trade every asset at 1:1000.

High leverage can produce large losses from small market movements. SimpleFX reports that 78% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs with the provider.

Maximum leverage by market on a SimpleFX 1:1000 account

The headline leverage is the forex number. Crypto CFDs carry a 1% margin requirement instead of 0.10%, so the same account gives a tenth of the leverage on Bitcoin. SimpleFX reports that 78% of its retail accounts lose money.

Does SimpleFX have a minimum deposit?

No. SimpleFX states that it has no minimum initial deposit requirement.

This allows you to test a live account with a small amount rather than committing a large balance immediately.

A zero minimum deposit does not mean that every strategy can be traded with a very small balance. Each instrument has its own margin requirement and minimum contract size. A balance may be large enough to open an account but too small for the position you want to trade.

Does SimpleFX require KYC verification?

Yes. You should expect identity verification if you want full SimpleFX account functionality.

The current onboarding process asks users to sign up, complete verification and then deposit. SimpleFX states that deposits, withdrawals and other features are available to verified users. It specifically requires identity and address verification before an initial fiat-currency deposit.

This is another area where older reviews are misleading. Historical articles sometimes promote SimpleFX as an anonymous or "no KYC" broker. That is not a safe description of the current 2026 onboarding flow.

What trading platforms does SimpleFX offer?

SimpleFX offers a browser-based WebTrader, a desktop application and native Android and iOS apps.

The platforms support both demo and live accounts. Features include charting, notification alerts, one-click order entry, take-profit orders and stop-loss orders. The mobile application also provides access to the wider market catalogue and account functions.

SimpleFX now relies on its own trading technology rather than MetaTrader 4.

Does SimpleFX still support MT4?

No. SimpleFX discontinued MetaTrader 4 access on 4 July 2024 and moved customers to its proprietary CORE platform.

Some broker directories still list SimpleFX as an MT4 broker, but that information is out of date.

Traders who rely on MT4 Expert Advisors, custom indicators or an existing MetaTrader workflow would need to move to CORE or use SimpleFX's API infrastructure.

Does SimpleFX support automated and AI trading?

Yes. SimpleFX supports REST API and WebSocket access for algorithmic trading.

In 2026, it also promotes TiMi AI TradeMate, an in-platform AI assistant that can retrieve live market data, perform trading calculations and prepare orders for confirmation.

SimpleFX also supports Model Context Protocol connections. These can link compatible AI systems to a trading account through OAuth. Its documentation says external agents may operate across multiple accounts and, depending on the configuration, execute trades without an extra confirmation step.

That feature is unusual among CFD brokers, but it adds another source of risk. An autonomous agent can act on a bad instruction faster than a human trader. SimpleFX warns that AI systems may hallucinate and that users remain responsible for trades initiated through AI agents.

The API and MCP tools may appeal to technically experienced traders. They are not a shortcut to profitable trading.

How do SimpleFX deposits and withdrawals work?

SimpleFX supports fiat and cryptocurrency payment methods. Available methods, limits and fees depend on your jurisdiction and legal entity.

SimpleFX does not advertise a deposit fee for standard deposits. Withdrawal charges vary by method. At the time of review, examples on the payments page included:

SimpleFX generally requires withdrawals to use the same payment method as the deposit. Crypto and electronic-payment withdrawals can take up to 24 hours for SimpleFX to process. Bank transfers may take several working days, and external payment processors can add further delays.

Testing both a deposit and a withdrawal with a modest balance is sensible before keeping significant trading capital with any broker.

What do SimpleFX users say?

Public feedback is broadly positive overall, but there are enough negative experiences that the rating should not be taken as proof of safety.

When checked in September 2026, SimpleFX showed a Trustpilot score around 4.1 out of 5. Positive reviewers frequently mentioned the straightforward interface and ease of use. Negative reviews included complaints involving withdrawals and platform experience.

That is useful sentiment data, not regulatory evidence.

Reviews on Trustpilot or any broker-rating platform can help identify recurring operational problems, but they cannot establish whether client money is legally protected or whether a broker will remain solvent.

What are the main pros and cons of SimpleFX?

SimpleFX's main advantage is flexibility across markets, funding methods and trading technology. It offers a large CFD catalogue, no formal minimum deposit, crypto and fiat funding, proprietary web, desktop and mobile platforms, demo trading, API access and AI integrations.

The main disadvantage is regulatory protection. The current structure is more substantial than the completely unregulated offshore setup described by some older reviews, but it does not provide the investor-protection framework associated with an FCA, CySEC or similar broker.

The end of MT4 support is another disadvantage for traders with existing Expert Advisors or MetaTrader workflows.

Finally, leverage of up to 1:1000 should be treated as a risk feature, not a benefit by default. Negative balance protection does not stop an account from losing most or all of its deposited funds.

Who is SimpleFX best for?

SimpleFX is best suited to an experienced CFD trader who values crypto funding, broad market coverage, flexible account sizes, proprietary software or API and AI automation.

The free demo account also makes it possible to test the platform before depositing real money.

I would look elsewhere if regulation is your main deciding factor. Traders who want an FCA-regulated broker, EU investor-compensation protection, MetaTrader 4 or a simpler regulatory structure may find better alternatives.

SimpleFX offers more flexibility than many traditional brokers, but that comes with weaker protection than the strongest regulated firms.

Is SimpleFX a scam?

I found no evidence that justifies calling SimpleFX a scam. It is an established operating broker with identifiable legal entities, published agreements, active platforms and a history dating back to 2014.

That does not make every customer complaint false or make the broker risk-free.

The more useful question is not "scam or legit?" but which SimpleFX legal entity will hold your account, who regulates that entity, what protections apply to your country and what happens if you have a dispute?

Check those points before depositing.

Is SimpleFX worth using in 2026?

SimpleFX is worth considering if its specific strengths are what you actually need. It is not the obvious default broker for everyone.

The platform has improved materially from the version described in many older reviews. It now offers more than 1,000 instruments, proprietary CORE trading software, regulated entities in its group structure, extensive crypto support, automated trading APIs and new AI trading integrations.

But I would not choose SimpleFX purely because it offers up to 1:1000 leverage or no minimum deposit.

The strongest reason to choose SimpleFX is its combination of multi-asset CFD trading, crypto-friendly payments and unusually flexible trading technology.

The strongest reason not to choose it is regulatory protection.

If you decide to use SimpleFX, verify which legal entity your account will be opened with, read that entity's current client agreement, use the demo first and test a small withdrawal before committing significant capital.

CFDs and leveraged products are high-risk instruments. This review evaluates the broker and its features; it is not personalised investment advice.
