Overview
Verdict: TIOmarkets is a legitimate multi-asset CFD broker with competitive trading conditions, a low $20 entry point and strong MetaTrader support, but whether we would recommend it depends heavily on which TIOmarkets legal entity holds your account.
For UK traders using TIO Markets UK Limited, the regulatory proposition is considerably stronger because the company is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority and eligible clients have Financial Services Compensation Scheme protection up to £85,000. International clients using TIO Markets Ltd receive offshore regulatory oversight through the Mwali International Services Authority, which does not provide the same level of investor protection.
From a trading perspective, TIOmarkets is more impressive. Independent testing published by FXEmpire in September 2026 found better-than-average execution speeds, competitive Standard account costs across several popular instruments and particularly strong deposit and withdrawal functionality. However, its Raw account was less competitive than expected in that test.
Our overall view: TIOmarkets is best suited to active traders who specifically want MT4 or MT5, flexible account structures and potentially high leverage. Traders whose first priority is top-tier regulatory protection should pay close attention to the entity they are assigned to before depositing.

Is TIOmarkets Legit or a Scam?
TIOmarkets is a legitimate broker group with identifiable corporate entities and regulatory licences. However, calling TIOmarkets simply "regulated" without identifying the relevant entity leaves out an important part of the story.
The TIOmarkets brand currently identifies several entities:
TIO Markets UK Limited
- Jurisdiction / regulator
- Financial Conduct Authority, UK
- Licence
- FRN 488900
- Key point
- UK clients, FSCS protection for eligible clients
TIO Markets Ltd
- Jurisdiction / regulator
- Mwali International Services Authority, Comoros
- Licence
- T2023224
- Key point
- International offshore entity
Trade i.o. Ltd
- Jurisdiction / regulator
- Financial Services Authority, Seychelles
- Licence
- SD167
- Key point
- Seychelles-regulated entity
TioMarkets CY Ltd
- Jurisdiction / regulator
- Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission
- Licence
- 429/23
- Key point
- CySEC register currently notes voluntary renunciation under examination
TIO Markets UK Limited is also an active company registered with Companies House under company number 06592025.
There is an important current caveat for European traders. Although some TIOmarkets webpages continue to describe TioMarkets CY Ltd as CySEC-regulated, the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission currently marks licence 429/23 as "under examination for voluntary renunciation of the authorisation." EU traders should therefore verify the entity and current onboarding arrangements directly before depositing funds.
Beware of TIOmarkets clone websites
The FCA has previously issued a warning about tiomarkets-trading.com, which impersonated the authorised UK company.
That warning did not state that genuine TIO Markets UK Limited was fraudulent. The FCA explicitly identified TIO Markets UK Limited, FRN 488900, and tiomarkets.uk as the genuine authorised firm and website.
This distinction matters if someone searches for terms such as "TIOmarkets scam" after seeing a suspicious website, email or trading offer.
How Safe Is TIOmarkets?
TIOmarkets offers stronger protection to UK clients than to clients assigned to its international entities.
TIO Markets UK Limited states that client funds are kept separate from company capital. Eligible customers may also receive FSCS protection of up to £85,000 if the regulated firm fails.
International clients may instead be covered by offshore regulatory frameworks with fewer restrictions. FXEmpire's analysis placed the MISA and Seychelles entities below the FCA entity in regulatory strength.
TIOmarkets also states that it provides negative balance protection. This should prevent retail clients from losing more than the funds available in their trading account because of a negative balance.
Negative balance protection does not make leveraged CFD trading safe. It deals with one form of loss, while the value of open positions can still fall quickly.
TIOmarkets Account Types and Minimum Deposits
TIOmarkets offers four main international account types: Nano, Standard, Raw and VIP Black. The Nano account is available only on MT5 and supports minimum trade sizes of 0.001 lots. Standard, Raw and VIP Black accounts support both MT4 and MT5. The Standard account is the best starting point for most traders.

It has a $20 minimum deposit, no separate commission and support for both MetaTrader platforms. FXEmpire's testing also found competitive Standard account pricing on EUR/USD, GBP/JPY, gold, Apple, Tesla and Bitcoin. The Raw account has a lower advertised spread, but that does not guarantee a lower total cost. FXEmpire found the Raw account more expensive than its raw-account industry benchmark for most of the instruments tested. The VIP Black account may suit traders who can justify the $1,000 minimum deposit. It offers advertised spreads from 0.3 pips without a commission.
Which TIOmarkets account is best?
For most traders, the Standard account is the logical starting point.
It requires only $20, has no separate commission and gives access to both MetaTrader platforms. More importantly, recent independent testing suggests the headline 0.0-pip Raw account does not automatically result in lower total trading costs.
FXEmpire tested both Standard and Raw accounts in June 2026. Its reviewer found competitive Standard-account pricing across EUR/USD, GBP/JPY, gold, Apple, Tesla and Bitcoin. The Raw account was more expensive than the firm's raw-account industry benchmark for most instruments tested.
That is a useful reminder that "spreads from 0.0 pips" is not the same thing as cheapest overall trading cost. Commission and the actual live spread both matter.
The VIP Black account becomes more interesting if you have enough capital to justify the $1,000 minimum deposit. TIOmarkets advertises spreads from 0.3 pips with no commission.
Are TIOmarkets Fees Competitive?
TIOmarkets fees are competitive on some accounts, but the minimum spread does not show the full cost of a trade.
The broker uses four pricing models:
- Standard: spreads from 1.1 pips with no trading commission
- Raw: spreads from 0.0 pips plus $6 per round-turn lot
- VIP Black: spreads from 0.3 pips with no commission
- Nano: spreads from 0.6 pips plus $6 per lot
The published commission is charged per round-turn lot, so it covers both opening and closing the position. Overnight swap charges may also apply. TIOmarkets may charge a $30 monthly dormancy fee after 90 consecutive days without an open position or a new trade.
The fee can continue until trading resumes or the available account balance reaches zero. This makes TIOmarkets less suitable for traders who plan to fund an account and leave it unused.
Cost of one EUR/USD lot by TIOmarkets account
Advertised spread at $10 per pip on a standard lot, plus the round-turn commission. VIP Black charges no commission and is still the cheapest, but it asks for $1,000 against the $20 that opens a Standard or Nano account.
TIOmarkets inactivity fee
One cost worth knowing before opening an account is the dormancy charge.
TIOmarkets states that an account with no open positions and no new trades for 90 consecutive days may become dormant. A fee of $30 per month, or currency equivalent, can then be deducted until trading resumes or the available balance reaches zero.
For occasional traders, that is a meaningful downside.
What Trading Platforms Does TIOmarkets Offer?
TIOmarkets supports MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, making the broker most attractive to traders already comfortable with the MetaTrader ecosystem.
MT4 and MT5 are available across desktop, web and mobile. TIOmarkets supports Expert Advisors, hedging and scalping on its main trading accounts.
MT5 also unlocks features not available on every MT4 account, including the Nano account and TIOmarkets' advertised unlimited-leverage option for eligible Standard accounts.
The weakness is choice. Traders specifically looking for cTrader or another third-party execution platform will not find the same platform variety here. FXEmpire's 2026 review similarly considered the overall platform range broadly average despite strong MetaTrader implementation.
How Fast Is TIOmarkets Execution?
Recent independent testing found TIOmarkets execution to be faster than the tester's industry averages across every instrument measured.
FXEmpire recorded the following demo-account execution times in June 2026:
| Instrument | TIOmarkets recorded execution | FXEmpire industry average |
|---|---|---|
| EUR/USD | 90 ms | 148 ms |
| GBP/JPY | 108 ms | 220 ms |
| Gold | 95 ms | 242 ms |
| Crude oil | 97 ms | 201 ms |
| Dow Jones 30 | 106 ms | 209 ms |
| Germany 40 | 94 ms | 277 ms |
These are measurements from one independent test rather than a guarantee of future execution speeds. Actual latency and slippage can vary by server, connection, market conditions and account type.
For scalpers and short-term traders, though, the result is a genuine positive signal.
What Can You Trade With TIOmarkets?
TIOmarkets advertises more than 950 instruments across several CFD categories:
- Forex
- Stock CFDs
- Indices
- Commodities
- Cryptocurrencies
- Futures
The broker says its offering includes more than 800 stock CFDs.
TIOmarkets is a CFD broker rather than a conventional stockbroker. CFD traders generally speculate on price movements instead of buying the underlying shares or assets.
How Do TIOmarkets Deposits and Withdrawals Work?
TIOmarkets normally processes withdrawal requests within one business day. The payment provider or bank then controls how long the funds take to arrive.
Depending on the country, available methods can include:
Card and bank withdrawals can take three to five working days after processing. Account verification must be completed before a withdrawal can be processed.
Some withdrawals may be free if they meet the broker's conditions. Fees can apply to small withdrawals or accounts where funds are deposited and withdrawn without trading. TIOmarkets currently lists a $25 bank-wire charge, along with percentage charges for some card and e-wallet withdrawals.
That distinction is important because "free withdrawals" is not unconditional.
What Do TIOmarkets Customers Say?
TIOmarkets has mostly positive public reviews, although some negative reviews mention withdrawals and account restrictions.
As of September 2026, Trustpilot shows TIOmarkets at approximately 4.3 out of 5 from more than 700 reviews. The distribution shown at that time included 85% five-star reviews and 6% one-star reviews.
Positive reviewers often mention responsive customer support and straightforward deposits or withdrawals. Negative reviews include complaints about delayed withdrawals, promotional conditions, account restrictions and disputed trading outcomes. TIOmarkets responds to negative feedback on the platform.
Trustpilot is only one source of information. Reviews can help identify repeated service complaints, but regulatory registers, legal documents and the identity of the contracting entity matter more when assessing custody and counterparty risk.

- Competitive Standard-account costs in recent independent testing
- Better-than-average execution speeds in recent testing
- Nano-lot trading from 0.001 lots

- CySEC currently lists the Cyprus licence as under examination for voluntary renunciation

- $30 monthly dormancy fee may apply after 90 days of inactivity
- No cTrader
- Maximum leverage can be extremely high, increasing the speed at which inexperienced traders can lose capital
- Investor protections vary materially by jurisdiction
Who Is TIOmarkets Best For?
TIOmarkets is best suited to active MetaTrader traders who want flexible account options and do not require the highest level of regulatory protection in every jurisdiction.
It may suit traders who want:
- MT4 or MT5
- low initial capital requirements
- scalping or Expert Advisor support
- nano-lot trading
- high leverage where permitted
- forex plus a broad range of CFDs
- multiple account-pricing structures
UK residents receive a stronger regulatory proposition because TIO Markets UK Limited operates under FCA oversight.
Who Should Avoid TIOmarkets?
TIOmarkets is less suitable for traders whose main priority is maximum regulatory protection outside the UK.
You may also prefer another broker if you:
The unlimited-leverage option should not be treated as a benefit by default. It reduces the margin needed to open a position, but it also permits much larger exposure relative to the money in the account. TIOmarkets warns that very high leverage can produce rapid and substantial losses.
Is TIOmarkets Worth Using?
TIOmarkets is worth considering if its trading conditions match your strategy and you are comfortable with the regulatory entity assigned to your country.
The actual trading product looks competitive. TIOmarkets offers established MetaTrader platforms, a wide CFD range, accessible deposits and independently measured execution performance that compares well with industry benchmarks.
The bigger decision is jurisdiction.
A UK client trading through FCA-authorised TIO Markets UK Limited is making a different counterparty-risk decision from an international client trading through the MISA-authorised offshore entity. Treating both situations as identical would make any TIOmarkets review misleading.
Before funding an account, confirm the full legal name of the company in your client agreement, verify that company's licence directly with the relevant regulator and check the exact leverage, withdrawal and compensation rules that apply to your jurisdiction.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the minimum deposit at TIOmarkets?
The minimum TIOmarkets deposit starts at $20. The international Standard and Nano accounts currently require $20, while the Raw account requires $250 and VIP Black requires $1,000.
Is TIOmarkets regulated?
Yes, but TIOmarkets operates through multiple legal entities with different regulators. TIO Markets UK Limited is FCA-authorised under FRN 488900. TIO Markets Ltd is authorised by MISA under licence T2023224, while Trade i.o. Ltd is authorised by the Seychelles FSA under licence SD167.
Does TIOmarkets have MT4 and MT5?
Yes. TIOmarkets offers both MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5. Standard, Raw and VIP Black accounts support MT4 and MT5, while the Nano account is available on MT5.
How long do TIOmarkets withdrawals take?
TIOmarkets aims to process withdrawals within one business day. The payment provider or bank may then require additional time, with bank wires and card withdrawals potentially taking three to five working days to clear.
Does TIOmarkets offer unlimited leverage?
TIOmarkets advertises leverage up to unlimited on eligible Standard accounts using MT5. Raw, VIP Black and Nano accounts currently offer leverage up to 1:500 on request. Availability depends on account conditions and jurisdiction.
Is TIOmarkets good for beginners?
TIOmarkets has a low $20 minimum deposit and a straightforward Standard account, but access to very high leverage means beginners need to understand position sizing and margin before trading live. A low minimum deposit does not make leveraged CFD trading low-risk.
Final Verdict
TIOmarkets is a credible broker with a better-than-average trading proposition in several areas, but it is not a broker we would assess purely from its spreads or Trustpilot score.
For active MetaTrader users, TIOmarkets offers a lot: low entry requirements, MT4 and MT5, more than 950 instruments, multiple account structures and strong execution results in recent independent testing. The Standard account is probably the best starting point for most traders.
The main limitation is regulatory consistency. UK traders benefit from FCA oversight and eligible FSCS protection, while international customers may be onboarded to offshore entities with weaker investor-protection frameworks.
Our recommendation is therefore conditional: TIOmarkets is worth considering for its trading conditions, but verify the exact TIOmarkets legal entity governing your account before depositing meaningful capital.
