Overview
NordFX is a legitimate forex and CFD broker brand with a regulated entity in Seychelles, but it is not our first choice for traders who prioritise strong regulatory protection. NordFX offers MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, minimum deposits from $10, Zero accounts with spreads advertised from 0.0 pips and leverage of up to 1:1000. The trade-off is that its regulatory structure is offshore rather than built around major regulators such as the FCA or ASIC.
There is also an important jurisdiction-specific warning. On 19 November 2025, the Reserve Bank of India added Nord FX to its Alert List of unauthorised forex trading platforms. Indian residents should therefore not treat NordFX's international licences as permission to use the broker in India.
Our verdict: NordFX may suit experienced traders outside restricted jurisdictions who specifically want MetaTrader, high leverage and relatively low account minimums. Traders who put regulatory protection first should generally choose a broker authorised in their own jurisdiction by a stronger regulator.

Is NordFX safe?
NordFX is a real broker with regulated entities, but the protection available to clients depends on the legal company that holds their account.
The Financial Services Authority of Seychelles lists Maximus Global Limited as a regulated capital-markets business using NordFX as a trade name. NordFX identifies Maximus Global Limited as holding Seychelles Securities Dealer licence SD065.
NordFX also says its group includes a Mauritius investment-dealer entity operating under Financial Services Commission licence GB24204016. Its documents refer to both Nord Premium LTD and Nord International MU LTD in connection with this Mauritius operation and licence.
This is weaker protection than traders would usually get from a broker supervised by the UK's Financial Conduct Authority or the Australian Securities and Investments Commission. A broker can hold a valid licence and still offer fewer safeguards than a firm regulated in a major financial market.
We would therefore describe NordFX as an offshore-regulated broker, rather than a strongly regulated broker.
A regulatory disclosure issue worth checking before depositing
NordFX's current webpages do not use one consistent name for the Mauritius entity.
Some pages refer to Nord Premium LTD, while other NordFX documents use Nord International MU LTD with the same Mauritius licence number. Maximus Global Limited also appears on some NordFX disclosures but not every current website footer we reviewed.
This does not prove that anything improper has happened. It does mean that prospective clients should confirm the exact legal company they are contracting with before depositing money.
The name in your account agreement matters more than the NordFX brand. That company determines which regulator, client-money rules and complaint procedures apply to you.
Is NordFX a scam?
We found insufficient evidence to justify calling NordFX a scam. A regulated Seychelles entity using the NordFX trade name is listed directly by the Financial Services Authority Seychelles.
However, "not a scam" is too low a standard for choosing a financial broker.
The more useful questions are:
- Which NordFX legal entity will hold your account?
- Which regulator supervises that entity?
- Is NordFX authorised to serve residents of your country?
- What protections apply if the broker fails?
- Are you comfortable using an offshore-regulated CFD provider?
- Does another broker offer similar trading conditions under stronger local regulation?
NordFX therefore passes the basic test of being an identifiable broker operation, but that should not be confused with receiving the same protections available from every regulated brokerage.
Is NordFX regulated?
Yes, NordFX has regulated entities within its group, although NordFX LTD is registered in Saint Lucia and company registration is not the same as a financial-services licence.
NordFX currently describes its corporate structure as including:
| Entity | Jurisdiction | Regulatory position |
|---|---|---|
| NordFX LTD | Saint Lucia | Registered company, registration no. 2023-00470 |
| Maximus Global Limited | Seychelles | Securities Dealer associated with NordFX |
| Nord Premium LTD / Nord International MU LTD | Mauritius | NordFX documentation states FSC investment-dealer licence GB24204016 |
The clearest independently verifiable connection we found is in Seychelles. The FSA Seychelles public register identifies Maximus Global Limited and lists NordFX as one of its trade names.
A regulated company within a corporate group does not automatically mean that every customer account receives protection from that regulator. Confirm the entity shown in your account agreement before you deposit.
Why is NordFX on the RBI Alert List in India?
NordFX is on the Reserve Bank of India's Alert List because the RBI identifies Nord FX as an unauthorised forex trading platform in India.
The RBI added Nord FX and nordfx.com to the list on 19 November 2025. It says entities on the list are not authorised to deal in foreign exchange under India's Foreign Exchange Management Act or to operate an electronic trading platform for forex transactions under the relevant RBI directions.
NordFX's licences in other countries do not override Indian financial regulations.
If you are an Indian resident, we would not recommend opening a NordFX forex account while Nord FX remains on the RBI Alert List.
The warning is specific to India. It should not be presented as a finding that NordFX is fraudulent in every country, but it is a serious negative for anyone assessing the broker from India.
Which countries does NordFX accept?
NordFX says it does not provide services to residents of several jurisdictions, including the United States, Canada, the European Union, the Russian Federation, Japan, Brazil and Ukraine.
The full list can change, so check NordFX's current legal documents and your local regulator before opening an account.
A country missing from a broker's restricted-country list is not proof that the broker is authorised there. The RBI action in India shows why those two questions need to be treated separately.

These figures come from NordFX's published account terms.
What NordFX asks to open each account
The two Pro accounts charge no forex commission and take the spread instead. The two Zero accounts start from 0.0 pips and add a commission, and cost ten to twenty times more to open.
Which NordFX account is best?
The Pro account is the simpler choice, while the Zero account is aimed at traders who want tighter advertised spreads and are willing to pay a separate commission.
Pro accounts use commission-free FX pricing, with the trading cost built mainly into the spread.
Zero accounts advertise spreads from 0.0 pips and charge an FX commission of 0.0035% on each side of the trade.
At that rate, a $100,000 position costs $3.50 to open and another $3.50 to close. The round-turn commission is therefore about $7, before the spread, slippage, swaps or other charges are included.
This percentage-based charge can be compared with brokers that quote commissions per standard lot.
How much leverage does NordFX offer?
NordFX advertises maximum leverage of up to 1:1000 on its main trading accounts.
That is likely to be one of NordFX's biggest attractions for experienced traders, but it is also one of its biggest risks.
At 1:1000 leverage, $1,000 of margin could theoretically control a position with a much larger notional value, subject to the broker's instrument-specific margin rules. Even a relatively small adverse market movement can therefore create a large percentage loss relative to the capital deposited.
The existence of 1:1000 leverage should be viewed as flexibility, not as a sensible default position size.
Beginners choosing NordFX primarily because of its leverage limit are focusing on the wrong feature.
What can you trade with NordFX?
NordFX offers leveraged trading on:
- Forex currency pairs
- Gold and silver
- Other metals
- Cryptocurrency CFDs
- Energy products
- Stock CFDs
- Index CFDs
The available symbols, contract specifications, margin requirements and trading hours depend on the account and instrument.
NordFX is a forex and CFD broker, not a full investment platform. Investors who want direct ownership of shares, ETFs, bonds, funds or other long-term products should compare investment brokers instead.
Does NordFX support MT4 and MT5?
Yes. NordFX supports both MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5.
MetaTrader 4 remains available to traders who rely on established Expert Advisors, indicators or existing MT4 workflows. MetaTrader 5 provides additional timeframes, market-depth functionality, an economic calendar and broader analytical capabilities. NordFX supports algorithmic trading on both platforms.
The lack of a major proprietary trading platform is not necessarily a disadvantage if you specifically want MetaTrader.
For traders looking for advanced proprietary charting, integrated research or a broker-specific trading ecosystem, NordFX is comparatively basic.
NordFX deposits and withdrawals
NordFX supports several deposit and withdrawal methods, with availability depending on the client's country. Its payment page lists bank cards, Skrill, Neteller and several cryptocurrency or stablecoin methods. NordFX says withdrawal requests are usually processed within one business day and should not take more than five business days at the broker-processing stage. Banks, card providers and payment processors can add more time. That is NordFX's published policy, not the result of our own live withdrawal test. NordFX requires the trading account to be fully verified before processing withdrawals. Its client agreement generally requires withdrawals to be sent through the same payment route or to an account in the client's own name. Completing KYC before building a large account balance is sensible. NordFX says it does not charge its own withdrawal-processing fee. Banks, payment systems, blockchain networks and intermediary providers may still charge fees. Check the cost for the payment method you plan to use rather than assuming every withdrawal is free.
How long do NordFX withdrawals take?
NordFX's withdrawal policy states that withdrawal requests are usually processed by the company within one business day and should not take longer than five business days at the broker-processing stage. Third-party banks, card providers and payment processors can add further delays.
This is the broker's published policy, not a claim based on our own live withdrawal test.
NordFX also requires the trading account to be fully verified before withdrawals can be processed. Its client agreement generally requires withdrawals to return through the same payment route or to an account held in the client's own name.
That makes completing KYC before building a large account balance sensible.
Does NordFX charge withdrawal fees?
NordFX states that it does not charge its own withdrawal-processing fee, although banks, payment systems, blockchain networks or intermediary providers may impose charges.
Always check the specific method rather than assuming every withdrawal is free.
What do NordFX customer reviews say?
Public reviews of NordFX are mixed.
Recent Trustpilot feedback includes positive comments about account operation, support and withdrawals. Other users criticise the broker's regulation and jurisdictional structure.
Review websites can help identify repeated complaints, but they cannot establish whether a broker is safe or financially strong. A positive review may reflect one successful withdrawal, while a negative review may involve a misunderstanding of a trading or verification rule.
For a financial provider, regulator records and legal documents deserve more weight than an average review score.
NordFX pros and cons
Advantages of NordFX
- Minimum deposit starts at $10 on the MT4 Pro account.
- MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 are both available.
- Maximum leverage reaches 1:1000.
- Zero accounts advertise spreads from 0.0 pips.
- Algorithmic trading and Expert Advisors are supported.
- Forex, metals, crypto, indices, energies and stock CFDs are available.
- FSA Seychelles publicly lists a regulated company using NordFX as a trade name.
Disadvantages of NordFX
- NordFX does not provide the level of regulatory reassurance we would expect from a broker operating primarily under major regulators such as the FCA or ASIC.
- Nord FX appears on the Reserve Bank of India's Alert List of unauthorised forex trading platforms.
- NordFX's current documentation is not perfectly consistent in its naming of the Mauritius entity.
- Maximum leverage of 1:1000 creates substantial risk if used aggressively.
- The product range is centred on leveraged forex and CFDs rather than traditional investing.
- Several major jurisdictions, including the United States, Canada and the European Union, are excluded from NordFX's service area.
Who should consider NordFX?
NordFX is most relevant to an experienced trader who:
- specifically wants MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5;
- trades forex and CFDs rather than building a long-term investment portfolio;
- wants access to unusually high leverage;
- understands position sizing and margin risk;
- lives in a jurisdiction NordFX can legally serve;
- has checked exactly which NordFX entity will hold the account; and
- accepts offshore regulatory protection.
The case for NordFX rests on its trading conditions and platform support. It does not rest on superior investor protection.
Who should avoid NordFX?
We would look elsewhere if:
- you are resident in India while Nord FX remains on the RBI Alert List;
- you live in one of NordFX's excluded jurisdictions;
- you want a broker directly supervised by a major regulator in your home market;
- you are a beginner attracted primarily by 1:1000 leverage;
- you want to own stocks and ETFs rather than trade CFDs;
- you want a large proprietary trading and research ecosystem; or
- you are uncomfortable establishing exactly which corporate entity holds your money.
For most retail traders, regulatory protection matters more than access to extreme leverage.
NordFX review: final verdict
NordFX is a genuine offshore forex and CFD broker with MetaTrader support, low account minimums and leverage of up to 1:1000. Stronger-regulated alternatives will suit many traders better.
The main advantages are its MT4 and MT5 platforms, deposits from $10, Zero accounts, Expert Advisor support and broad range of leveraged CFD markets.
The regulatory structure is the main concern. The FSA Seychelles register confirms that Maximus Global Limited uses the NordFX trade name, but the broker relies on offshore entities, its Mauritius company names need clarification, and the Reserve Bank of India lists Nord FX as unauthorised for forex trading in India.
Consider NordFX only if its trading features justify using an offshore broker and it is authorised to serve you. If regulatory protection is your first priority, choose a broker directly regulated in your own jurisdiction.
Before depositing money, verify the legal entity in your account agreement, confirm its licence with the relevant regulator and test the platform with a demo account.
CFDs and leveraged forex products are high risk. Leverage can magnify losses as well as gains.
