Overview

Libertex is a legitimate, regulated trading platform in Europe and is a strong option for self-directed CFD traders who want a choice of Libertex’s own platform, MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5. It is less compelling for complete beginners who need extensive education, social trading or advanced mobile charting.

For European users, Libertex.com is operated by Indication Investments Ltd, a Cyprus Investment Firm regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission, CySEC, under licence 164/12. CySEC currently lists Libertex.com as an approved domain for the firm.

The biggest caveat is the product itself. Libertex offers leveraged contracts for difference, or CFDs, and its current English-language risk warning states that 83% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs with this provider.

Our verdict: Libertex deserves a shortlist if you already understand CFD trading and value broad market access, MT4/MT5 support and a relatively simple proprietary platform. If you are learning to trade from scratch, want copy trading under the European regulated entity, or primarily want long-term passive investing, I would compare other platforms before opening an account.

Important: This review primarily covers Libertex.com under Indication Investments Ltd for the European Economic Area and Switzerland. Libertex is an international brand and users outside Europe can be onboarded through different legal entities with different leverage, protections and account terms.

Is Libertex legit?

Yes. Libertex.com is a legitimate trading platform operated in Europe by a regulated Cyprus Investment Firm.

The relevant company is Indication Investments Ltd, registration number HE290930. CySEC lists the company under CIF licence 164/12 and identifies Libertex.com as one of its approved domains.

This status can be checked through the regulator rather than relying only on information published by Libertex.

Eligible retail clients of Indication Investments Ltd are also covered by the Cyprus Investor Compensation Fund. Libertex's current ICF document says compensation is calculated as the lower of 90% of a client's cumulative covered claims or €20,000. Professional clients and eligible counterparties are excluded from the fund.

Regulation does not make CFD trading safe. It creates rules around the investment firm, client treatment and certain protections, but it does not prevent trading losses.

Was Libertex ever suspended by CySEC?

Yes, but the suspension was later recalled.

CySEC partially suspended Indication Investments Ltd's authorisation on 3 August 2021 over suspected regulatory violations. On 23 August 2021, CySEC formally recalled the suspension. The company's licence is currently listed as active in CySEC's regulated-entity database.

Both facts belong in a fair review. Reporting only the suspension would give an incomplete picture of the company's current regulatory status. Omitting it would leave out relevant history.

What can you trade on Libertex?

Libertex essentially offers two different propositions: leveraged CFD trading and, through Libertex Invest, investment in real shares.

That distinction is important.

With a CFD, you are trading a contract whose value follows an underlying instrument. You do not own the underlying stock, cryptocurrency, commodity or other asset.

Libertex's European CFD offering covers more than 1,000 underlying assets across categories including:

  • Forex
  • Shares
  • Stock indices
  • Cryptocurrency CFDs
  • Metals
  • Oil and gas
  • Agricultural commodities
  • ETFs
  • Bonds
  • Options

The exact selection can vary by platform and jurisdiction.

Does Libertex offer real stocks?

Yes. Libertex Invest allows eligible customers to buy real shares instead of stock CFDs.

Libertex advertises 0% trading commission on the Invest account. That does not make every part of the service free. The bid and ask spread still applies, foreign exchange costs may apply when currencies differ, and relevant taxes or market levies may also be charged.

This gives Libertex a wider product range than a CFD-only platform. If you want to buy shares for investment, use the Invest product rather than opening a leveraged stock CFD by mistake.

What are Libertex's fees?

Libertex's fee structure is competitive in some markets, but "commission from 0%" should not be interpreted as zero-cost trading.

For European CFD accounts, Libertex lists variable spreads and commissions starting from 0%. Depending on the instrument and trade, other costs may include overnight swaps, futures rollover charges and currency-related margin adjustments.

ForexBrokers.com's August 2026 hands-on test measured an average 0.3-pip EUR/USD spread plus a 0.005% commission per side on the proprietary platform through the CySEC-regulated entity.

That is a tested example, not a universal Libertex price. Actual costs depend on the instrument and market conditions.

What "commission from 0%" actually costs on a EUR/USD lot

Libertex's figure is ForexBrokers.com's August 2026 hands-on test: a 0.3 pip average spread plus 0.005% commission a side, which is $3 of spread and $10 of commission on a $100,000 lot.

Does Libertex charge an inactivity fee?

Yes.

Under the current European fee schedule, Libertex charges €10 per month after an account has been inactive for 180 calendar days. The period applies when there have been no trades, open positions, withdrawals or deposits.

The charge is easy to avoid if you use the account regularly. It matters more if you plan to deposit money and leave the account unused.

Libertex trading platforms: Libertex, MT4 and MT5

Libertex gives customers three platform choices rather than requiring every trader to use one interface. The Libertex web and mobile platform is built around straightforward position entry rather than the traditional MetaTrader lot-based format. The proprietary platform supports market execution and offers access to more than 1,000 instruments. The minimum trade size is €20 for euro-denominated European accounts. An independent 2026 platform test found 43 technical indicators and more than 30 drawing tools on the Libertex web platform. It also found Trading Central signals and screeners. The mobile charts tested in the same review were much more limited. They had no technical indicators or drawing tools. That makes the web platform the better choice for analysis. The mobile app is more suitable for monitoring positions and placing simple trades. Libertex supports MetaTrader 4, including automated trading and hedging. MT4 can be used for forex CFDs and CFDs on shares, indices, commodities, cryptocurrencies, ETFs and metals. MetaTrader 5 is also available. Libertex's MT5 account supports automated trading and provides the wider analytical and order-management tools associated with the newer platform. For algorithmic traders and people already using Expert Advisors, access to both MT4 and MT5 is a meaningful advantage over brokers that offer only a proprietary app.

Libertex proprietary platform

The Libertex web and mobile platform is designed around relatively simple position entry rather than the traditional MetaTrader lot-based experience.

Libertex supports market execution and currently advertises access to more than 1,000 instruments through its proprietary platform. The minimum trade size is €20 for euro-denominated European accounts.

An independent 2026 platform test found 43 technical indicators and more than 30 drawing tools on the Libertex web platform, alongside Trading Central signals and screeners.

The same test found the mobile application's charting substantially weaker, with no technical indicators or drawing tools available in the mobile charts tested.

That creates a fairly clear split. The Libertex web platform is better suited to analysis, while the mobile app is more appropriate for monitoring positions and straightforward execution.

MetaTrader 4

Libertex supports MetaTrader 4, including automated trading and hedging. MT4 can be used for forex CFDs as well as CFDs on assets such as shares, indices, commodities, cryptocurrencies, ETFs and metals.

MetaTrader 5

MetaTrader 5 is also available. Libertex's MT5 account supports automated trading and adds the wider analytical and order-management capabilities associated with the newer MetaTrader platform.

For algorithmic traders or anyone already running Expert Advisors, having both MT4 and MT5 is a genuine advantage over brokers that only offer a proprietary app.

How much leverage does Libertex offer?

European retail leverage reaches 1:30, although the maximum depends on the asset class.

Current Libertex Europe margin requirements are:

Asset classMaximum retail leverage
Major forex pairs1:30
Minor and exotic forex pairs1:20
Gold1:20
Major indices1:20
Other commodities1:10
Minor indices1:10
Stocks and ETFs1:5
Cryptocurrency CFDs1:2

Professional-client terms can differ, but professional status also changes the protections available to you. Libertex says professional clients give up protections including Investor Compensation Fund eligibility.

Leverage outside the European entity can be much higher. Libertex.org currently advertises leverage of up to 1:999 for some international customers.

That is precisely why a generic statement such as "Libertex offers 1:999 leverage" is misleading without identifying the legal entity and jurisdiction.

Does Libertex have a demo account?

Yes. Libertex offers a free European demo account with €50,000 in virtual funds.

You can open the demo without depositing money or completing the full funding process. Libertex also says that demo access has no time limit.

The account lets new traders practise position sizing, leverage, stop losses and margin without risking capital. Experienced traders can use it to test the platform before deciding whether the execution process suits them.

A demo result does not show how a trading strategy will perform with real money.

What is the Libertex minimum deposit?

The current minimum first deposit listed in Libertex's European terms is €100.

The minimum may later depend on the funding method and the account conditions shown during the deposit process.

The proprietary Libertex platform has a minimum trade size of €20. MetaTrader accounts use a minimum volume of 0.01 lot.

Minimum deposits quoted elsewhere may differ because Libertex operates through several entities. Check the legal entity and deposit screen for your country rather than relying on a global figure.

Can you withdraw money from Libertex?

Yes. Libertex supports withdrawals through PayPal, cards, electronic wallets and bank transfer, although the fee depends on the method.

Under the current European schedule, PayPal withdrawals are free from Libertex. Card withdrawals cost €1, Skrill and Neteller withdrawals cost 1%, and SEPA or international bank transfers cost 0.5%, subject to a €2 minimum and €10 maximum.

Customer feedback on withdrawals is mixed.

As of September 2026, the Libertex Europe Trustpilot profile shows a 3.9 out of 5 rating from more than 9,500 reviews. Recent reviews include customers reporting fast withdrawals, while others allege delays, rejected withdrawals or poor support.

These are user-generated accounts, not independent evidence of how every withdrawal is handled.

For a financial platform, I would give more weight to the regulated entity, written withdrawal terms, complaints procedure and a small withdrawal test than to either extremely positive or extremely negative anonymous reviews.

Libertex pros and cons

Advantages

  • CySEC-regulated European entity: Indication Investments Ltd currently holds CIF licence 164/12.
  • Three platform choices: Libertex, MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5.
  • Broad market coverage: more than 1,000 underlying assets are advertised on the European platform.
  • Real shares as well as CFDs: Libertex Invest separates share ownership from leveraged CFD trading.
  • Useful demo account: €50,000 of virtual funds and no deposit required.
  • Retail investor protections: eligible European retail clients have access to the Cyprus Investor Compensation Fund.
  • Competitive pricing can be available: commissions start from 0%, although total trading cost depends on the instrument.

Drawbacks

  • CFDs are extremely high risk: Libertex currently reports that 83% of its retail CFD accounts lose money.
  • Mobile charting is weaker than web: independent 2026 testing found no indicators or drawing tools in the mobile charts.
  • Education is relatively basic: independent testing found a thinner educational offering than several larger competitors.
  • No native EU copy-trading proposition: traders specifically seeking social or copy trading will need to compare alternatives.
  • Inactivity fees apply: €10 monthly after 180 days of qualifying inactivity.
  • Some withdrawal methods cost money: bank cards, Skrill, Neteller and bank transfers can incur charges.
  • Entity differences create confusion: regulation, leverage and trading conditions can vary materially depending on where a customer is onboarded.

Who is Libertex best for?

Libertex is best suited to self-directed traders who understand leveraged products and want a large CFD range through either a straightforward proprietary platform or MetaTrader.

I would shortlist Libertex if you value MT4 or MT5, want access to a large selection of CFDs, need a demo account, and want the option to hold real shares separately through Libertex Invest.

I would look elsewhere first if your priority is structured beginner education, native social or copy trading under the European entity, advanced mobile charting, TradingView or cTrader integration, or a purely passive investment platform.

That is the important distinction. Libertex does not need to be the "best broker" in the abstract. It needs to be the right tool for the type of trading you actually intend to do.

Final verdict: is Libertex worth it?

Libertex is a credible option for experienced and self-directed CFD traders, particularly in Europe where Libertex.com operates under CySEC-regulated Indication Investments Ltd.

Its strongest combination is straightforward: 1,000+ underlying assets, a proprietary trading platform, MT4, MT5, a €50,000 demo account and a separate real-share investing product.

The weaknesses are equally clear. CFD trading carries a very high probability of loss for retail customers, mobile charting is less capable than the web experience, the education layer is relatively thin, and costs such as overnight financing, inactivity charges and some withdrawal fees need to be understood before funding an account.

The answer to "Is Libertex legit?" is therefore yes for the regulated European entity. The more useful question is whether Libertex suits your trading style.

For someone who already knows why they want to trade CFDs and wants Libertex plus MetaTrader access, it is worth considering.

For someone who is simply looking for an easy way to start investing, I would compare alternatives before committing capital.
