What to check first
Confirm regional availability, the regulated entity, leverage limits and rollover costs. Forex and CFD losses can accumulate quickly.
Overview
M4Markets is a legitimate, regulated CFD broker, but it is not a broker I would recommend blindly. Its strengths are low entry requirements, MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, raw-spread accounts and unusually high leverage for eligible offshore clients. The main reasons for caution are the difference in protection between regulatory entities and a noticeable group of recent public complaints involving withdrawals, account restrictions and disputed profits.
The important question is therefore not simply "Is M4Markets legit?" It is which M4Markets legal entity will hold your account, what protections apply to that entity, and whether its trading conditions suit the way you trade.

Is M4Markets legit?
Yes. M4Markets is not an anonymous or unregulated forex website. Several M4Markets entities appear in official regulator registers.
Trinota Markets (Global) Limited operates the international M4Markets business. The Seychelles Financial Services Authority lists it as a Securities Dealer trading under the M4MARKETS name. The FSA register identifies the business and the M4Markets website, while M4Markets states that its licence number is SD035.
European clients may instead deal with Harindale Ltd. The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission lists Harindale Ltd under licence 301/16 and identifies M4Markets as an approved trade name.
In Dubai, the Dubai Financial Services Authority lists Oryx Finance Ltd under reference F007051, with M4Markets as its trading name.
This does not mean every M4Markets customer receives the same protection. A trader using the Seychelles entity has a different contractual relationship and regulatory framework from a European trader dealing with the CySEC-regulated company.
Check the legal entity before depositing money.
Which companies operate M4Markets?
The current M4Markets global website identifies three main regulated entities:
Trinota Markets (Global) Limited
- Jurisdiction
- Seychelles
- Regulator
- Financial Services Authority
- Licence/reference
- SD035
Harindale Ltd
- Jurisdiction
- Cyprus
- Regulator
- CySEC
- Licence/reference
- 301/16
Oryx Finance Ltd
- Jurisdiction
- Dubai International Financial Centre
- Regulator
- DFSA
- Licence/reference
- F007051
M4Markets also states that client funds are held in segregated accounts.
One point needs checking. Older M4Markets material said that the group also held a South African FSCA licence through GVT KORIMZA (PTY) LTD. The broker's current main licence page lists the FSA, CySEC and DFSA entities.
That does not make the present licences questionable. It does reinforce the practical rule for prospective clients: check the exact company named in your Client Agreement rather than relying on a generic "multi-regulated" badge.
Is M4Markets safe?
M4Markets has genuine regulatory oversight, but "regulated" and "low risk" are not the same thing.
M4Markets is primarily a CFD broker. CFDs use leverage and can lead to substantial losses in a short period. M4Markets also warns that customers may lose more than their initial deposit under some global trading arrangements.
The main safety variable is your jurisdiction.
A trader registered through a European regulated entity may face much tighter leverage limits than a trader using the Seychelles company. M4Markets' international accounts advertise leverage of up to 1:1000 on Standard accounts and up to 1:5000 on the Dynamic Leverage account.
At 1:5000, a small amount of margin can control a very large position. A relatively small adverse price movement can therefore use up available margin quickly.
High leverage is a feature and a risk. It is not, by itself, a reason to prefer one broker over another.
M4Markets account types and minimum deposits
M4Markets currently offers Standard, Raw Spread, Premium, Dynamic Leverage and Cent accounts through its international website.
The main difference between the accounts is how you pay for execution.

- 1:1000
- Forex/metals commission
- $0
Raw Spread

Cent

These figures come from the international M4Markets account comparison. They can differ for regulated entities in other jurisdictions.
Cost of one EUR/USD lot by M4Markets account
Starting spread at $10 per pip on a standard lot, plus the forex commission. The two cheapest accounts are also the two that ask for money up front: $500 for Raw Spread and $10,000 for Premium.
Which M4Markets account is best?
The Raw Spread account is the most interesting option for active forex traders who can justify the $500 minimum deposit.
The Standard account is easier to access, but EUR/USD spreads start from 1.1 pips. The Raw Spread account starts from 0.0 pips and charges a $7 round-turn commission, shown by M4Markets as $3.50 per side. The Premium account reduces that commission to $5, but requires a $10,000 minimum deposit.
The Premium account therefore makes more sense for traders whose capital and trading volume justify the $2 per lot saving.
The Dynamic Leverage account is built around a different trade-off. It has a wider starting spread of 1.6 pips but advertises leverage of up to 1:5000. Its selling point is margin efficiency, not the lowest transaction cost.
For most traders, the choice is straightforward:
- Standard: small deposits and occasional trading.
- Raw Spread: active forex or metals trading where spreads matter.
- Premium: higher-volume traders with enough capital to justify the $10,000 threshold.
- Dynamic Leverage: aggressive traders specifically seeking extreme leverage.
- Cent: small-position testing and lower-capital strategy experimentation.
What can you trade with M4Markets?
M4Markets provides CFD trading across forex, commodities, indices, individual shares and cryptocurrencies.
The international website lists:
With a CFD, you normally speculate on the price of an underlying market rather than buying the underlying asset.
That difference matters for shares and cryptocurrency. Someone who wants long-term stock ownership or custody of Bitcoin needs a different type of platform.
M4Markets is better suited to leveraged trading than long-term investing.
What trading platforms does M4Markets offer?
M4Markets primarily offers MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5. That makes it a natural fit for traders who already use the MetaTrader ecosystem.
The broker supports MT4 and MT5 on desktop and mobile. Its MT5 service supports Expert Advisors, hedging, multiple order types, one-click trading, technical indicators and algorithmic strategy testing.
M4Markets may suit:
- discretionary forex traders;
- algorithmic traders using Expert Advisors;
- scalpers;
- multi-market CFD traders;
- traders who want desktop and mobile MetaTrader access.
M4Markets also offers a mobile app for account administration, funding, withdrawals and trading-account management. The broker says the app includes biometric login and two-factor authentication.
If you already use MT4 or MT5, the learning curve should be short.
If you want a proprietary institutional-style platform, advanced options trading or traditional investing tools, M4Markets is less compelling.
Are M4Markets spreads and commissions competitive?
M4Markets' Raw Spread pricing is competitive on paper, while its Standard account is more conventional than exceptional.
On the international offering, M4Markets publishes minimum EUR/USD spreads of:
- Standard: 1.1 pips
- Raw Spread: 0.0 pips
- Premium: 0.0 pips
Its published commission is zero on Standard, USD 7 round-turn on Raw Spread and USD 5 round-turn on Premium for USD-denominated forex and metals trading.
The mistake is comparing brokers on "0.0 pips" alone.
A proper comparison includes: total trading cost = spread + commission + slippage + swaps/financing
A 0.0-pip advertised minimum does not mean every trade executes at zero spread, particularly during volatile or illiquid market conditions.
M4Markets itself states that its spreads are variable.
For an active trader evaluating M4Markets against another broker, I would compare actual EUR/USD, GBP/USD, XAU/USD and whichever instruments you trade during the hours you normally execute. Marketing minimums are less useful than live-session costs.
How do M4Markets withdrawals work?
M4Markets says withdrawal requests are normally processed within 24 working hours. The final arrival time depends on the payment provider.
Several conditions are worth checking before you deposit.
M4Markets says deposited funds normally have to be returned through the same payment method used for funding. Profits may be sent to a bank account held in the client's own name. Available payment and withdrawal methods vary by country.
The broker also applies a 3% administrative withdrawal fee when a customer deposits and then withdraws without trading.
That fee is easy to miss if you focus only on the headline trading commissions.
Are there M4Markets withdrawal problems?
There are recent public complaints about M4Markets withdrawals and account restrictions. Customer reviews are a risk signal, though they cannot prove that every complaint is accurate.
As of September 2026, M4Markets had a Trustpilot score of 3.5/5 from 146 reviews. Of those reviews, 66% were rated five stars and 18% were rated one star. Several recent one-star reviews allege withdrawal problems, cancelled profits or account termination.
M4Markets has responded to some complaints by saying that accounts were reviewed or that action was taken under its trading terms.
Forex Peace Army also contains mixed feedback, with an overall user rating of approximately 3.1 from 34 reviews when its page was last updated.
Neither Trustpilot nor Forex Peace Army can establish what happened in an individual trading dispute. A trader may breach broker rules, a broker may make a mistake, and a reviewer may leave out relevant context. Legitimate complaints can also occur.
A cluster of complaints involving withdrawals, profit cancellation and "abusive trading" determinations is enough that I would read the Client Services Agreement carefully if using strategies involving:
- bonus arbitrage;
- latency-sensitive execution;
- high-impact news trading;
- multiple related accounts;
- unusual hedging patterns;
- extremely short holding periods.
Complaints involving withdrawals, profit cancellation and "abusive trading" determinations are a reason to read the Client Services Agreement carefully if you use:
Make a small withdrawal early. That is better than testing the process for the first time after building a large balance.
M4Markets pros and cons
M4Markets advantages
- Multiple regulated M4Markets entities can be independently verified.
- Minimum deposit starts from $5 on selected international accounts.
- MT4 and MT5 are both available.
- Raw spreads start from 0.0 pips.
- Raw Spread commission is $7 round-turn for USD forex/metals accounts.
- Swap-free account options are available.
- Forex, commodities, indices, shares and cryptocurrency CFDs are available.
- Dynamic leverage reaches up to 1:5000 for eligible international clients.
- Cent accounts and demo accounts give traders lower-risk ways to test the environment.
M4Markets disadvantages
- Client protection differs materially depending on the legal entity and jurisdiction.
- Extreme leverage can magnify losses as quickly as profits.
- The Raw Spread account requires $500 and Premium requires $10,000.
- A 3% fee may apply to withdrawals following deposits with no trading activity.
- Public review platforms contain recent complaints involving withdrawals and account restrictions.
- M4Markets is fundamentally a leveraged CFD platform, not a traditional long-term investment broker.
Who should use M4Markets?
M4Markets is most suitable for experienced CFD traders who understand leverage, prefer MetaTrader and are willing to check the regulatory entity and trading terms themselves.
I would consider M4Markets if your priorities are:
- MT4 or MT5;
- low minimum deposits;
- raw-spread forex trading;
- Expert Advisors and automated trading;
- high leverage;
- CFD access across several asset classes.
I would be less inclined to choose M4Markets if your main priority is the strongest available regulatory protection, long-term investing rather than CFD trading, or avoiding brokers with public complaints about withdrawals and account disputes.
The offshore offering is difficult to assess from headline pricing alone. High leverage and flexible conditions are part of its appeal, but they also add risk.
Is M4Markets a scam?
Calling M4Markets a scam is not supported by the regulatory evidence. M4Markets operates through identifiable legal entities that appear in official regulatory registers.
The Seychelles FSA independently lists Trinota Markets (Global) Limited and its M4MARKETS trade name. CySEC lists Harindale Ltd and M4Markets as an approved trading name. The DFSA register identifies M4Markets as the trading name of Oryx Finance Ltd.
That does not mean every customer experience will be positive, or that regulatory protection is equal in every jurisdiction.
The more accurate conclusion is:
M4Markets is a regulated CFD broker with legitimate operating entities, competitive trading conditions in parts of its account range, and enough recent customer disputes that traders should perform proper due diligence before depositing substantial funds.
Is M4Markets good for beginners?
M4Markets can accommodate beginners because the Standard and Cent accounts start from $5, and demo accounts are available.
Access to an account does not make the product suitable for a new trader.
Leverage of up to 1:1000 or 1:5000 makes position sizing especially important. A beginner should not treat the maximum available leverage as a target.
A demo or Cent account is the more sensible starting point for someone who wants to test M4Markets.
Does M4Markets offer MT4 or MT5?
Yes. M4Markets supports both MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5.
MT5 offers more analytical and algorithmic functions, while traders with existing MT4 Expert Advisors or established MT4 workflows may prefer to stay with MT4.
What is the M4Markets minimum deposit?
The minimum deposit starts from $5 on the international Standard, Dynamic Leverage and Cent accounts.
The Raw Spread account requires $500, while the Premium account requires $10,000, according to M4Markets' international account comparison. Availability can depend on region and payment method.
Final verdict: should you trade with M4Markets?
M4Markets is worth considering, but I would not fund a large account solely because it advertises 0.0-pip spreads or very high leverage.
The broker passes the basic legitimacy check because its main regulated entities can be verified independently. Its Raw Spread account, MetaTrader support, $5 entry-level accounts and broad CFD range make it a credible option for some traders.
The concern is what happens outside the pricing table.
Protection depends on the company that opens your account. Recent customer reviews also contain enough complaints about withdrawals and account actions to justify careful checking before you commit more money.
Verify the legal entity in your Client Agreement. Read the prohibited-trading and withdrawal clauses. Start with a limited balance, then complete a successful withdrawal before increasing your exposure.
For an experienced MetaTrader CFD trader who understands these trade-offs, M4Markets can make sense.
For someone whose main priority is the strongest possible investor protection rather than leverage and flexible offshore conditions, it is worth comparing other regulated brokers first.
CFDs are leveraged financial instruments and carry a substantial risk of loss. This review assesses the broker and its trading conditions. It does not determine whether CFD trading is suitable for any individual trader.
