Overview

BlackBull Markets is a legitimate, regulated forex and CFD broker that is particularly strong for active traders who want competitive ECN-style pricing and a choice of MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, cTrader and TradingView. Our verdict is positive overall, but with one important caveat: the level of regulatory protection depends heavily on whether your account is held with the New Zealand or Seychelles entity.

BlackBull Markets makes the most sense for experienced forex and CFD traders, algorithmic traders, scalpers and TradingView users. It is less compelling for traders whose top priority is having a broker regulated across multiple major financial jurisdictions.

The New Zealand entity, Black Bull Group Limited, holds an active derivatives issuer licence from New Zealand's Financial Markets Authority under FSP403326. International accounts may instead be provided by BBG Limited, which is regulated by the Seychelles Financial Services Authority under licence SD045.

BlackBull Markets' current account documentation lists no minimum deposit for Standard, Prime or Prime+ derivatives accounts. BlackBull Invest is a separate service with a minimum deposit of $1,000 in the account's base currency.

Is BlackBull Markets good?

Yes. BlackBull Markets is a good broker for active forex and CFD traders who care about platform choice and trading costs.

Its main advantages are:

The main drawback is the difference between the New Zealand and Seychelles entities. An international client may receive a Seychelles account rather than an account with the New Zealand FMA-regulated company. That difference matters more than a small change in the advertised spread.

BlackBull Markets is a good fit for active traders, scalpers, TradingView users and traders who run Expert Advisors. It is less suitable for beginners who need a large education programme or for regulatory-first investors.

  • Best for: active forex and CFD traders, TradingView users, scalpers and traders running Expert Advisors or automated strategies.
  • Good for: traders who want low-cost Prime pricing without a large minimum deposit.
  • Less suitable for: regulatory-first investors and complete beginners primarily looking for extensive educational support.
  • Avoid if: BlackBull Markets cannot legally onboard residents of your country.

Is BlackBull Markets safe and legit?

Yes. BlackBull Markets is a legitimate regulated broker, but the protection attached to your account depends on the legal entity that holds it.

Black Bull Group Limited is licensed by New Zealand's Financial Markets Authority as a derivatives issuer. The FMA lists licence FSP403326 as active. The licence was originally granted on 12 August 2020. BBG Limited is incorporated in Seychelles and authorised by the Seychelles Financial Services Authority under securities dealer licence SD045.

Before depositing, check the legal entity named in your Client Agreement. Do not assume that every BlackBull Markets account receives the same regulatory protection.

New Zealand versus Seychelles regulation

This is the most important distinction in the entire BlackBull Markets review.

A trader opening an account should identify the exact legal entity named in the Client Agreement, rather than assuming that every BlackBull Markets account receives New Zealand regulatory protection.

BlackBull Markets itself states that the entity providing an account depends on the client's country of residence and applicable regulatory requirements.

For New Zealand clients, Black Bull Group Limited is also a member of Financial Services Complaints Limited, an independent dispute resolution scheme.

For the purpose of assessing broker risk, we consider the FMA-regulated New Zealand entity the stronger setup. An account operated through Seychelles should be treated as carrying greater jurisdictional and counterparty risk than the same brand's New Zealand-regulated account.

Are BlackBull Markets client funds segregated?

BlackBull Markets states that client money is held in segregated accounts with ANZ Bank in New Zealand, separately from the broker's operating funds.

Segregation keeps client money apart from normal company accounts. It does not provide a government guarantee against broker failure, trading losses or every other type of financial loss.

Watch out for fake BlackBull Markets websites

There is another safety issue worth knowing about.

The New Zealand FMA has published warnings about websites impersonating Black Bull Group Limited. The regulator confirmed that BlackBull's official New Zealand website is blackbull.com and listed several unrelated websites misusing the company's identity.

That is not a regulatory warning against the legitimate BlackBull Markets broker. It is a warning about scammers pretending to be BlackBull.

Before depositing, verify that you are on the official domain and check the legal entity shown in your Client Agreement.

BlackBull Markets fees and spreads

BlackBull Markets offers competitive pricing, especially on the Prime account. The total cost depends on both the spread and the commission, so the advertised 0.0-pip minimum should not be treated as a guaranteed trading cost. BlackBull's account comparison lists leverage of up to 1:500 on all three account types. The actual maximum can depend on the instrument, entity and account conditions. For active forex traders, Prime is likely to offer the lower total cost when its tighter spread more than offsets the commission. On a standard 100,000-unit EUR/USD lot, one pip is approximately $10 when the account is denominated in US dollars. A 0.8-pip Standard spread would therefore cost about $8 per lot if that minimum spread were available. Prime charges $3 per lot when opening and $3 when closing, creating a $6 round-trip commission. At a hypothetical 0.0-pip spread, the total theoretical cost would be about 0.6 pips, or $6 per standard lot.

Actual spreads change with market conditions, so these figures are not guaranteed live costs. FXEmpire recorded EUR/USD spreads of 1.1 pips on BlackBull Standard and 0.1 pips on Prime during test windows in February 2026. Adding the $6 round-trip Prime commission produces an approximate 0.7-pip all-in cost in that test, compared with 1.1 pips on Standard. Prime is the account we would examine first for active forex trading. Yes. BlackBull Markets' Prime+ pricing pages do not give the same commission figure.

The account comparison lists a $3 commission per lot per side, with commission rebates available. A separate commissions page describes Prime+ as having an equivalent commission of $2 per lot. High-volume traders should confirm the current Prime+ commission and rebate schedule before opening the account. Prime+ only makes financial sense if the rebate is large enough to improve on standard Prime pricing. BlackBull Markets currently charges no broker deposit fee and no inactivity fee. It charges a flat $5 fee for each withdrawal request. Banks, card issuers and payment processors may apply separate fees or currency-conversion charges. The $5 fee is worth considering if you make frequent small withdrawals. It is less important for larger, less frequent withdrawals.

Is the BlackBull Prime account cheaper than Standard?

For sufficiently active forex traders, Prime is likely to be the better-value account because its lower spread can more than offset the commission.

Take EUR/USD as a simple example.

On a standard 100,000-unit EUR/USD lot, one pip is approximately $10 when the account is denominated in US dollars.

The Standard account's advertised minimum spread of 0.8 pips would therefore represent roughly $8 of spread cost per lot if that minimum spread were actually available.

The Prime account charges $3 per lot when opening and another $3 when closing, giving a $6 round-trip commission. At a hypothetical raw spread of 0.0 pips, its minimum theoretical transaction cost would therefore be roughly 0.6 pips or $6 per standard lot.

Actual spreads float, so that is not a guaranteed live cost.

There is some useful independent evidence. In a February 2026 test, FXEmpire recorded EUR/USD spreads of 1.1 pips on BlackBull Standard and 0.1 pips on Prime during its test windows. Adding the $6 round-trip Prime commission gives an approximate 0.7-pip all-in cost in that specific test, versus 1.1 pips on Standard.

That makes Prime the account we would investigate first for active forex trading.

BlackBull's Prime+ pricing needs clarification

There is currently an inconsistency in BlackBull Markets' own documentation.

Its account comparison lists Prime+ at a $3 commission per lot per side with commission rebates available. A separate commissions page describes Prime+ as having an "equivalent commission" of $2 per lot.

Because those official pages do not perfectly agree, high-volume traders should confirm the current Prime+ commission and rebate schedule directly before selecting the account.

That matters because Prime+ only makes commercial sense if your trading volume earns a rebate large enough to beat ordinary Prime pricing.

Does BlackBull Markets charge deposit, withdrawal or inactivity fees?

BlackBull Markets currently charges no broker deposit fee and no inactivity fee, but it applies a flat $5 internal fee to withdrawal requests.

Third-party banks, card companies and payment processors can still apply their own charges or currency-conversion costs.

For a trader making frequent small withdrawals, that $5 charge is worth factoring into the decision. For larger, less frequent withdrawals, it is unlikely to materially affect overall trading costs.

Which trading platforms does BlackBull Markets offer?

BlackBull Markets offers MT4, MT5, cTrader and direct TradingView trading. It also offers BlackBull CopyTrader. This gives traders access to several established retail trading platforms without requiring them to use a proprietary terminal. MT4 remains useful for forex traders who already use Expert Advisors, indicators or automated strategies built for the platform. BlackBull Markets supports Expert Advisors and provides desktop, web and mobile access. MT5 offers additional order types, timeframes and market coverage compared with MT4.

For traders starting from scratch, MT5 is usually the better MetaTrader starting point. Traders with an existing MT4 software library may prefer to remain with MT4. BlackBull Markets supports cTrader, including its order-management interface and Level II Depth of Market functionality. That makes the platform a useful option for discretionary day traders and scalpers who prefer cTrader to MetaTrader. BlackBull Markets accounts can connect directly to TradingView. Traders can analyse charts and place orders without leaving the TradingView interface. TradingView's BlackBull Markets broker profile currently shows a rating of about 4.6/5 from roughly 5,000 trader ratings. User ratings provide context, but they do not replace regulatory checks or a test of the broker's deposit and withdrawal process.

MetaTrader 4

MT4 remains useful for forex traders with an existing library of Expert Advisors, indicators or automated strategies.

BlackBull Markets supports algorithmic trading and Expert Advisors through MT4, with desktop, web and mobile access.

MetaTrader 5

MT5 provides additional order types, timeframes and market coverage compared with MT4.

For traders starting from scratch rather than relying on legacy MT4 software, MT5 will usually be the more future-proof MetaTrader choice.

cTrader

BlackBull Markets also supports cTrader, including its more advanced order-management interface and Level II Depth of Market functionality.

That makes BlackBull more attractive to discretionary day traders and scalpers who prefer cTrader over the MetaTrader ecosystem.

TradingView

BlackBull Markets accounts can be connected directly to TradingView, allowing traders to analyse charts and execute orders without leaving TradingView.

For an existing TradingView user, this is one of the broker's biggest selling points.

TradingView's BlackBull Markets broker profile currently shows a rating of about 4.6/5 across roughly 5,000 trader ratings. User ratings are useful context, but they should not replace regulatory due diligence.

What can you trade with BlackBull Markets?

BlackBull Markets advertises more than 26,000 instruments across its associated entities and platforms. The exact products available depend on your platform, account and country.

The advertised range includes:

  • Forex
  • Stock and share CFDs
  • Indices
  • Commodities
  • Precious metals
  • Energy products
  • Futures-related instruments
  • Cryptocurrency markets where permitted

BlackBull Invest is a separate service offering investments such as shares, ETFs, options and bonds. It is separate from the standard leveraged derivatives accounts and has a $1,000 minimum deposit.

The 26,000+ figure therefore applies to BlackBull's wider trading and investing ecosystem. It does not mean that every CFD account can access all 26,000 instruments on every platform.

What leverage does BlackBull Markets offer?

BlackBull Markets advertises leverage of up to 1:500 on its derivatives accounts.

High leverage can help experienced traders manage capital efficiently, but it also increases the speed at which losses can build. The maximum available leverage can vary by instrument, account type, jurisdiction and client classification.

BlackBull's support documentation lists a margin call level of 70% and a stop-out level of 50%. At the stop-out level, positions may be closed automatically as account equity falls relative to the required margin.

Check the leverage shown in your own account rather than relying on the headline maximum.

How do BlackBull Markets withdrawals work?

BlackBull Markets supports multiple withdrawal methods and charges a flat $5 fee per withdrawal request.

The broker states that many withdrawal methods can be processed quickly after approval, while bank transfers may take longer because of banking-system processing times.

Payment availability varies by country.

BlackBull may also require withdrawals to follow payment-method and anti-money-laundering rules. For example, funds originally deposited by card may need to be returned to that card before profits can be withdrawn through another method.

A sensible test before placing substantial capital with any broker is to fund the account conservatively, complete verification and make an initial withdrawal so you understand the broker's process in your jurisdiction.

Is BlackBull Markets an ECN broker?

BlackBull Markets describes its trading model as ECN and No Dealing Desk, with orders routed to external liquidity rather than handled manually by a dealing desk.

The practical points for traders are the live spread, commission, execution quality, slippage and platform stability during their normal trading hours.

BlackBull advertises execution below 100 milliseconds and uses Equinix infrastructure in London. Actual execution will vary with location, network latency, instrument and market conditions. The advertised figure is not a guaranteed fill time for every order.

BlackBull Markets pros and cons

Advantages

  • Excellent platform selection. MT4, MT5, cTrader and TradingView cover most retail trading preferences.
  • Competitive Prime pricing. Raw spreads from 0.0 pips plus a $3-per-side commission can produce attractive all-in forex costs.
  • No minimum deposit on derivatives accounts. Standard, Prime and Prime+ currently have a $0 broker minimum.
  • No inactivity fee. Dormant accounts are not currently charged an inactivity penalty.
  • Large product ecosystem. BlackBull advertises 26,000+ instruments across its associated trading and investing platforms.
  • New Zealand FMA regulation. Black Bull Group Limited holds an active derivatives issuer licence.
  • Segregated client money. BlackBull states that client money is held separately with ANZ Bank in New Zealand.
  • Suitable for automated trading. MetaTrader Expert Advisors are supported.

Disadvantages

  • Regulatory protection varies significantly by entity. An international account may sit under the Seychelles entity rather than New Zealand's FMA-regulated company.
  • $5 withdrawal fee. Frequent small withdrawals can make this irritating.
  • Prime+ documentation is currently inconsistent. BlackBull's own pages do not describe its commission in exactly the same way.
  • High leverage increases risk. Access to as much as 1:500 leverage is not automatically an advantage.
  • Education is not the core strength. Independent broker research has generally rated BlackBull more strongly for platforms, markets and trading conditions than for beginner education.

Who should choose BlackBull Markets?

BlackBull Markets is a good fit for traders who already understand leveraged trading and need a choice of platforms and account structures.

Consider it if you:

  • Trade forex or CFDs actively.
  • Want TradingView, cTrader or MetaTrader rather than a proprietary-only platform.
  • Run EAs or algorithmic strategies.
  • Prefer raw spread pricing.
  • Want to start without a large broker-imposed minimum deposit.
  • Understand leveraged trading and can manage margin risk.

For many experienced forex traders, Prime is the logical account to investigate first because it combines raw pricing with a simple commission structure.

Who should look elsewhere?

BlackBull Markets is less obvious for traders whose main priority is regulatory depth.

A trader with substantial capital may prefer a broker with several strong licences across major jurisdictions, even if that broker offers a slightly wider spread or fewer platforms.

Beginners who want a large trading academy, structured courses and extensive platform guidance may also find other brokers easier to use.

BlackBull Markets does not accept applications from residents of the United States or Canada and has a wider restricted-country list. Confirm your eligibility before starting an application.

BlackBull Markets customer reviews: what do traders say?

Current third-party review signals are broadly positive, but they should be treated as supporting evidence rather than proof that a broker is safe.

TradingView currently shows BlackBull Markets at approximately 4.6/5 from around 5,000 ratings, with recent reviews frequently mentioning customer support and platform usability.

Trustpilot also contains a large volume of positive feedback alongside complaints about withdrawals, support and account issues. That mixture is normal enough for a large financial-services provider, but individual reviews cannot establish whether another trader will have the same experience.

Regulatory status, contractual entity, pricing and your own deposit-and-withdrawal test carry more weight than a star rating.

BlackBull Markets review: final verdict

BlackBull Markets is a good broker for active traders and one of its strongest selling points is the combination of competitive Prime pricing with MT4, MT5, cTrader and TradingView. We would shortlist it for forex, CFD, algorithmic and execution-focused trading.

The deciding issue is regulation.

If your account is held with FMA-licensed Black Bull Group Limited in New Zealand, BlackBull presents a stronger regulatory proposition. If your account is held with Seychelles-regulated BBG Limited, you are accepting a lighter offshore regulatory framework in exchange for the trading conditions available through that entity.

Before depositing meaningful capital, do three things:

  • Confirm the exact BlackBull Markets legal entity in your Client Agreement.
  • Compare live Standard and Prime spreads during the hours you normally trade.
  • Complete a small deposit and withdrawal cycle before scaling the account.

For active traders who are comfortable with those conditions, BlackBull Markets is a broker worth shortlisting, with the Prime account being the most attractive starting point for most experienced forex traders.

Information checked 11 September 2026. Trading conditions, account availability, fees and regulatory arrangements can change. Leveraged forex and CFD trading can result in substantial losses.
