Overview

Alpho is a real, regulated offshore broker, but it would not be my first choice for most traders. Alpho operates under a verifiable Seychelles Financial Services Authority licence and offers MetaTrader 5, more than 250 forex and CFD instruments, and leverage of up to 1:500. The problem is that its regulation is offshore, some important client-protection and withdrawal details are not particularly transparent, and its published trading costs are difficult to describe as compelling.

If you have access to a competitively priced broker regulated in your own jurisdiction under a stronger investor-protection framework, I would generally choose that before Alpho.

Is Alpho legit or a scam?

Alpho appears to be a genuine operating broker with a verifiable Seychelles regulatory registration. Calling it an unlicensed scam would be inaccurate.

The Seychelles FSA lists Octrado Ltd in its Capital Markets register. The regulator identifies Alpho and Octrado as trading names and links alpho.com, gulfbrokers.com and octrado.com to the regulated entity. Alpho's website says that Octrado Ltd operates under Securities Dealer licence SD013.

That establishes that a regulated company exists behind the brand. It does not establish that Alpho offers the level of protection, pricing or transparency you should expect from a broker.

An offshore licence can be valid while still offering fewer protections than a broker regulated in your own country.

Who owns and operates Alpho?

Alpho is currently presented as a trading brand of Octrado Ltd, a Seychelles-regulated securities dealer.

This point matters because older information about Alpho frequently names Gulf Brokers Ltd instead.

The current Seychelles FSA register lists Octrado Ltd and associates the regulated entity with the Alpho, Gulf Brokers and Octrado websites. Older Alpho client agreements and legal pages still contain references to Gulf Brokers Ltd and the same SD013 licence.

The result is a messy entity trail, but the naming difference should not automatically be interpreted as evidence that the licence is fake. The current regulator record is the more important source.

For anyone researching older “Alpho reviews” or “Gulf Brokers reviews”, this relationship also explains why the brands frequently appear together.

How well regulated is Alpho?

Alpho is regulated, but its regulatory position is the biggest reason I would not make it a default recommendation.

The Seychelles FSA authorisation is a real Securities Dealer licence. It gives Alpho a substantially more credible position than an anonymous broker operating with no identifiable regulated entity.

However, an offshore securities-dealer licence should not be treated as equivalent to having your account under a regulator such as the UK Financial Conduct Authority, Australian Securities and Investments Commission or an appropriate European regulator.

For a trader, the relevant question is not simply:

  • “Is there a licence?”
  • It is:

“What happens to me if there is a dispute, the broker fails, my account enters a negative balance, or I cannot withdraw my money?”

Alpho's current public pages make the Seychelles licence clear, but I could not verify equally clear public commitments covering every one of those protections.

That distinction is particularly important when large deposits are involved.

What can you trade with Alpho?

Alpho provides leveraged trading across forex, commodities, indices and share CFDs rather than operating as a traditional stock-investment platform.

Alpho advertises access to more than 250 forex and CFD instruments. Its shares documentation explicitly describes share trading as Contracts for Difference, meaning the trader does not physically own the underlying company shares.

This matters because someone searching for an investing platform to buy and hold actual Apple, Amazon or other shares may want a different type of broker.

CFDs are designed around trading price movements. They introduce leverage, financing costs and liquidation risk that do not apply in the same way to simply owning an unleveraged share.

Which trading platform does Alpho use?

Alpho uses MetaTrader 5, including an online WebTrader.

MetaTrader 5 is a major positive for Alpho. Traders who already use MT5 do not have to learn an obscure proprietary trading terminal, and Alpho links directly to its WebTrader from the main website.

The platform supports the sort of charting, order management and multi-market trading functionality experienced MT5 users expect.

Alpho is therefore more attractive to someone who specifically wants the MetaTrader ecosystem than to someone looking for a simplified beginner investment app.

How much leverage does Alpho offer?

Alpho advertises leverage of up to 1:500 on many forex instruments.

Leverage is one of Alpho's biggest potential attractions and one of its biggest risks.

At 1:500 leverage, a trader can control a position far larger than the cash deposited as margin. That creates capital efficiency, but it also means relatively small adverse price movements can produce disproportionately large losses.

Alpho's own risk warning states that leveraged products carry a high level of risk and may not be suitable for all investors.

High leverage is not inherently a reason to call a broker bad. For an experienced trader deliberately seeking higher leverage, it may be part of the appeal.

It is a poor reason for a beginner to choose a broker.

What are Alpho's spreads and fees?

Alpho's published pricing is one of the weaker parts of the proposition.

Alpho's current trading-conditions page states that spreads start from 3 pips on EUR/USD. It also says spreads are floating and may widen according to market conditions.

For a cost-sensitive forex trader, a 3-pip starting spread on EUR/USD is not especially attractive.

Alpho also publishes a $10 monthly maintenance fee, or the equivalent in another account currency, when there have been no deposits, withdrawals or trading activity for at least one month.

A one-month inactivity threshold is worth noticing. Someone who opens an account, funds it and then leaves it unused can begin accumulating charges relatively quickly.

Alpho's various instrument and legacy pages contain additional pricing information, but the complete current cost structure is not presented as cleanly as I would want. Before depositing, traders should get the current spread schedule, commissions, overnight swap charges and withdrawal fees in writing.

Are Alpho withdrawals reliable?

There is not enough robust Alpho-specific public evidence to make a confident claim that withdrawals are either exceptionally good or systematically problematic.

Alpho's client portal supports withdrawal requests, and an older published Client Agreement explains that withdrawals can be made from available free margin subject to the company's verification and payment requirements.

The bigger issue is disclosure.

I would prefer to see a prominent public funding page showing supported withdrawal methods, charges, minimum amounts and expected processing times before a user deposits money.

Independent Alpho-specific review volume is also thin. BrokersView displayed only a very small number of direct Alpho user reviews when checked, including a complaint concerning additional withdrawal documentation and delays. One complaint is not enough evidence to establish a pattern.

That is the correct way to interpret the evidence. Neither “withdrawals are definitely fine” nor “Alpho does not pay withdrawals” is justified by the public data I found.

What do customer reviews say about Alpho and Gulf Brokers?

The public reputation picture is mixed, and the strongest review history sits under the related Gulf Brokers name rather than Alpho itself.

This distinction matters.

The current Seychelles FSA register associates gulfbrokers.com and alpho.com with Octrado Ltd, so Gulf Brokers' historical customer feedback is relevant background. It should not, however, be presented as if every Gulf Brokers review were an Alpho customer review.

Trustpilot showed 72 Gulf Brokers Ltd reviews and a 3.0 out of 5 TrustScore when checked in September 2026. Recent reviews included both positive reports and complaints concerning spreads, verification, support and withdrawals.

User-generated reviews should never outweigh regulatory records, contractual terms and independently verified trading conditions. They are useful for identifying issues worth investigating, not for proving them automatically.

Does Alpho offer good transparency?

Alpho provides enough information to verify the core company and licence, but some of its public disclosures could be considerably cleaner.

The strongest transparency point is that the regulator, company and trading domain can be connected through the current Seychelles FSA register.

The weaker points are the mixture of Octrado and older Gulf Brokers references, fragmented fee information and the lack of an immediately obvious comprehensive withdrawal-cost and processing table.

There is another detail privacy-conscious users should read carefully. Alpho's current privacy policy states that the company may use personal information to pass personal data to third parties for marketing purposes without prior written consent. Anyone submitting identity documents during KYC should read the full privacy terms and understand how their information may be used.

Alpho pros and cons

AdvantagesDisadvantages
Verifiable Seychelles FSA regulated entityOffshore regulation is weaker than the regulatory setup many traders can access domestically
MetaTrader 5 and WebTraderUp to 1:500 leverage creates substantial loss risk
More than 250 advertised forex and CFD instrumentsEUR/USD spreads are advertised from 3 pips
Forex, commodities, indices and share CFDs$10 monthly inactivity fee can apply after only one inactive month
24-5 support advertisedImportant funding and protection details are not as transparent as they could be
Established connection between the domain and regulated entityAlpho-specific independent customer-review evidence remains limited

Is Alpho good for beginners?

No. Alpho would not be my first broker recommendation for a beginner.

The combination of CFDs, leverage of up to 1:500 and offshore regulation creates more risk than a beginner needs while learning how markets and order execution work.

A beginner should prioritise strong regulation in their own jurisdiction, transparent costs, straightforward withdrawals, sensible leverage and good educational or demo facilities before chasing maximum leverage.

MetaTrader 5 is a capable platform, but access to MT5 alone is not a reason to accept weaker overall terms.

Who might Alpho be suitable for?

Alpho may suit an experienced trader who specifically wants MetaTrader 5, access to leveraged CFDs and the option of high leverage, and who accepts the trade-off involved in using a Seychelles-regulated broker.

That trader should still verify the account-level spreads, overnight financing, commissions, payment methods, withdrawal timeframe and balance-protection terms before sending meaningful capital.

Compare Alpho with the regulated brokers available in your country. The relevant comparison is not simply whether another offshore broker offers similar leverage.

Alpho review: final verdict

Alpho is legitimate in the narrow sense that there is a real regulated company behind the website and its Seychelles FSA registration can be independently verified. That is not enough for me to make Alpho a first-choice broker.

MetaTrader 5, a broad CFD range and leverage up to 1:500 give Alpho a workable trading proposition for a specific type of experienced trader. Against that, you have offshore-only regulation, spreads advertised from 3 pips on EUR/USD, a $10 monthly inactivity fee after one inactive month, fragmented public pricing information and limited Alpho-specific independent customer evidence.

The call is simple: if you have a well-priced broker available under stronger regulation in your own jurisdiction, use that first. Consider Alpho only when its specific trading conditions provide a genuine advantage and you knowingly accept the offshore regulatory trade-off.

Trading leveraged CFDs can result in substantial losses. Never choose a broker purely because it offers higher leverage.
