What to check first

Confirm regional availability, the regulated entity, leverage limits and rollover costs. Forex and CFD losses can accumulate quickly.

Overview

XS.com is a legitimate multi-asset CFD broker, but the most important thing to understand is which XS Group entity will actually hold your account. The global XS.com website is operated by XS Ltd, a Seychelles company regulated by the Financial Services Authority of Seychelles, while other XS Group entities hold licences from regulators including CySEC in Cyprus, ASIC in Australia and the FSCA in South Africa.

XS.com is worth considering for experienced forex and CFD traders who want MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5, several account types and a choice of spread structures. It is less suitable for investors who want to own real shares or for traders who place the highest priority on retail investor protections rather than leverage and trading flexibility.

The biggest point to check before depositing is not simply whether XS.com is "regulated". It is which legal entity you are signing an agreement with and what protections that entity provides in your jurisdiction.

Is XS.com legit?

Yes. XS.com is operated by identifiable financial-services companies that appear in regulatory records.

The strongest independent evidence concerns XS Markets Ltd. CySEC lists XS Markets Ltd, formerly RockFrost Ltd, as a Cyprus Investment Firm with licence number 412/22. The licence was granted on 4 April 2022.

The Seychelles Financial Services Authority also lists XS LTD in its regulated capital-markets directory and links the company to XS.com.

XS Group says its regulatory structure includes:

  • XS Ltd, Seychelles FSA
  • XS Prime Ltd, Australian Securities and Investments Commission
  • XS Markets Ltd, Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission
  • XS Finance Ltd, Labuan Financial Services Authority
  • XS ZA (Pty) Ltd, South African Financial Sector Conduct Authority
  • XS Trade Services Ltd, Mauritius Financial Services Commission

These licences support the view that XS.com is a genuine broker group. They do not mean every customer receives the same protections. The company named in your registration documents determines the regulator, leverage limits, compensation arrangements and other terms that apply to you.

Is XS.com safe?

XS.com offers several client-protection measures, but CFD trading remains high risk.

XS says it keeps client money separate from company funds. Its client agreement also provides negative balance protection, subject to conditions. The protection is designed to prevent a trading account from leaving the client owing more than the applicable balance after genuine market losses. XS can disapply the protection in cases it considers abusive or manipulative.

The broker also advertises civil liability insurance arranged through the Lloyd's of London market. The cover applies to qualifying claims above $10,000 and up to $5 million involving issues such as fraud, negligence, errors or omissions.

This insurance does not cover trading losses. If a forex, gold or index position moves against you, that loss remains your responsibility.

XS's risk disclosure makes the same point. CFDs are derivatives, so trading a share, index or commodity CFD does not give you ownership of the underlying asset. You can lose the capital committed to trading.

XS.com account types and trading costs

XS.com offers both spread-only accounts and an account with lower quoted spreads plus commission. The right choice depends on how often you trade, your position size and the total cost of each trade. The Standard account is the simplest option for traders who prefer commission-free pricing. XS lists: The Standard account supports several asset classes. Exact instrument availability can vary between MT4 and MT5. The Pro account is aimed at traders who want a lower quoted spread without a separate commission. XS lists: The account supports currencies, metals, crypto, energy, indices, futures and shares, subject to platform and regional availability. The Elite account combines a low quoted spread with commission. XS lists: Active forex traders should compare the total cost of the Elite account with the Pro account. A 0.1-pip spread does not tell you the full cost when commission is added.

Standard Account

The XS Standard Account is likely to make the most sense for many ordinary traders.

XS lists:

  • Average EUR/USD spread: 1.1 pips
  • Commission: none
  • Minimum deposit: none at account level
  • Platforms: MT4 and MT5
  • Minimum trade volume: 0.01 lot
  • Base currencies: USD, EUR and JPY

The Standard account supports several asset classes, with exact instrument availability varying between MT4 and MT5.

Pro Account

The XS Pro Account targets more active traders who want lower spreads without paying a separate commission.

XS currently lists:

  • Minimum deposit: $500
  • Average EUR/USD spread: 0.7 pips
  • Commission: none
  • Platforms: MT4 and MT5

The Pro account supports currencies, metals, crypto, energy, indices, futures and shares, subject to platform and regional availability.

Elite Account

The XS Elite Account uses rawer pricing plus commission.

XS currently lists:

  • Minimum deposit: $500
  • Average EUR/USD spread: 0.1 pips
  • Commission: $6 round turn per lot
  • Platforms: MT4 and MT5
  • Minimum position size: 0.01 lot

For active forex traders, comparing the all-in cost, rather than looking at the advertised spread in isolation, is the sensible way to compare the Elite and Pro accounts.

How competitive are XS.com spreads?

XS.com's published forex pricing is competitive on its lower-spread accounts, but the figures are averages rather than guaranteed live spreads.

XS says its spreads float and that the figures in its contract specifications are based on the previous trading day's average. Spreads can widen when market liquidity falls, including around rollover periods.

That distinction matters. A headline such as "0.1 pip spread" does not mean EUR/USD will constantly trade at 0.1 pips.

When comparing XS.com with IC Markets, Pepperstone, Exness, XM or another CFD broker, check:

  • The live spread during the hours they normally trade
  • Commission per round trip
  • Overnight swap charges
  • Slippage and execution
  • Margin requirements
  • Withdrawal costs
  • The legal entity providing the account

These details give a better comparison than ranking brokers by their lowest advertised spread.

What can you trade on XS.com?

XS.com provides CFDs across seven main categories:

Forex coverage includes major, minor and exotic currency pairs. XS also offers share CFDs on companies from the United States, United Kingdom, Europe and Hong Kong.

The futures products need some clarification. XS describes them as OTC CFDs based on futures, rather than traditional exchange-traded futures contracts.

The same distinction applies to shares. Trading an Apple or Amazon share CFD through XS.com does not make you a shareholder in Apple or Amazon.

Does XS.com support MT4 and MT5?

Yes. XS.com supports both MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5.

MT4 and MT5 are available through web, Windows, macOS and mobile environments. Specific account types and instruments may be limited to one platform.

XS also provides its own mobile app for account management and market access.

The MetaTrader support makes XS.com relevant to traders who already use Expert Advisors, custom indicators or an MT4 or MT5 workflow.

What is the XS.com minimum deposit?

Some XS.com accounts have no stated account-level minimum deposit, but individual payment methods still have minimum transaction amounts.

This is an easy distinction to miss.

For example, XS lists no minimum deposit for the Standard account. However, its published funding limits currently start at:

Deposit methodMinimumPublished processing time
Bank transfer$3001 to 7 working days
Visa / Mastercard$20Instant
Skrill$15Instant
Neteller$15Instant

So "no minimum deposit" means XS does not impose an additional minimum balance for that account type. It does not mean every available payment method accepts a $1 deposit.

What "no minimum deposit" means, by payment method

XS.com sets no minimum balance on the account. The payment route does, and the gap between the cheapest and the dearest is twentyfold.

Skrill
$15
Neteller
$15
Visa and Mastercard
$20
Bank transfer
$300
3002001000

How do XS.com withdrawals work?

XS.com supports bank transfers, Visa and Mastercard, Skrill and Neteller withdrawals. Processing times vary by method.

The broker currently publishes these examples:

Withdrawal methodMinimumPublished processing time
Bank transfer$2501 to 7 working days
Visa / Mastercard$57 to 10 working days
Skrill$501 business day
Neteller$15Instant

XS says it does not normally charge an internal deposit or withdrawal fee. Banks and payment providers can still add their own charges.

The broker may charge up to 3% for a withdrawal where there has been no trading activity or where XS identifies abusive, fraudulent or otherwise prohibited activity.

Are there complaints about XS.com withdrawals?

Yes. Public reviews include complaints about withdrawal delays and payment handling. Other customers report fast withdrawals and positive support experiences.

As of 10 September 2026, Trustpilot showed XS.com at 3.9 out of 5 from 403 reviews, with 9% of ratings at one star. Several recent negative reviews discussed withdrawals. These reviews are individual customer accounts, not independently verified findings of misconduct. They still give prospective customers a reason to test the payment process before committing a large balance.

A sensible approach is to:

XS.com leverage explained

XS.com advertises maximum leverage of up to 1:2000 on some account types. The leverage available to you depends on the instrument, account, exposure, regulatory entity and current risk conditions.

XS also uses dynamic leverage for many products. Maximum leverage can decrease as your net open exposure grows. The broker may apply higher margin requirements during periods of increased volatility.

Leverage lets you control a larger position with less margin. It also increases the speed and size of potential losses. High leverage only helps when position sizing and risk controls are already in place.

XS.com pros and cons

What we like about XS.com

  • Multiple regulated companies operate within the wider XS Group.
  • The Seychelles FSA and CySEC records provide independent evidence for key regulated entities.
  • Both MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 are available.
  • Standard, Pro and Elite accounts provide different pricing structures.
  • Forex, metals, indices, shares, energy, crypto and futures CFDs are available.
  • Client funds are stated to be segregated.
  • Negative balance protection is included under the applicable terms.
  • XS normally charges no internal deposit or withdrawal fee.
  • Standard accounts have no separate account-level minimum deposit.

What to consider before using XS.com

  • Your protection depends on the specific XS legal entity holding your account.
  • CFDs do not provide ownership of the underlying shares or other assets.
  • Very high leverage can substantially increase trading risk.
  • Published spreads are floating averages, not guaranteed live prices.
  • Some withdrawal methods have relatively long published processing windows.
  • Public review sites contain complaints about withdrawals as well as positive reports.
  • The strongest pricing accounts require a $500 minimum deposit.
  • Product and leverage availability vary by jurisdiction.

Who is XS.com best for?

XS.com is best suited to active forex and CFD traders who understand leveraged products and want MT4 or MT5.

The Standard account suits traders who prefer commission-free pricing. The Pro account may suit traders who want tighter spreads without commission. The Elite account is aimed at traders who accept a $6 round-turn commission in exchange for a lower quoted spread.

XS.com is less suitable for long-term investors who want to buy shares, ETFs or other assets directly. Its main offering is leveraged CFD trading.

Who should avoid XS.com?

XS.com is probably a poor fit if you:

  • want to own the underlying shares rather than trade CFDs
  • are uncomfortable with leveraged trading
  • require a broker regulated by one specific authority
  • live in a restricted jurisdiction
  • want guaranteed fixed spreads
  • prefer a broker built mainly around a proprietary trading platform

XS states that the brand does not offer services to residents of certain jurisdictions, including the United States, Iran and North Korea. Check your eligibility and the applicable regulator during registration.

Is XS.com a scam?

We found regulatory evidence that XS companies are genuine regulated financial-services entities, so describing XS.com simply as a "scam" would not be supported by the available evidence.

XS companies appear in official regulatory records, and the broker publishes information about its account types, funding methods, spreads and trading conditions. That evidence does not guarantee a positive experience or remove the risks of CFD trading.

Public complaints about withdrawals also deserve attention. A regulated broker can still have customer disputes, delays or unsatisfactory service.

The useful question is therefore not simply "Is XS.com a scam?" It is whether the specific XS entity, trading conditions, withdrawal rules and regulatory protection available to you are acceptable for the amount of money you plan to deposit.

XS.com review: final verdict

XS.com is a credible option for experienced forex and CFD traders who want MT4 or MT5, several account types and a choice of pricing models.

The broker has more public regulatory and product information than many offshore CFD brands. The main issue is the entity structure. A trader registered through one XS Group company may have different rights, compensation arrangements and leverage limits from a trader registered through another.

Before funding an account:

1. Check the legal company named in the client agreement. 2. Verify that company with the relevant regulator. 3. Compare the total spread, commission and swap costs. 4. Read the withdrawal and negative balance protection terms. 5. Test the withdrawal process before depositing a larger amount.

XS.com may suit traders who understand leveraged CFDs and are comfortable with the entity structure. Investors seeking direct asset ownership or one clearly defined regulatory framework should look elsewhere.

Trading CFDs involves substantial risk and can result in the loss of your capital.
