What to check first
Confirm regional availability, the regulated entity, leverage limits and rollover costs. Forex and CFD losses can accumulate quickly.
Overview
Global Prime is a legitimate forex and CFD broker, but whether it is a good choice depends heavily on which Global Prime legal entity holds your account.
For Australian clients, Global Prime operates through FMGP Trading Group Pty Ltd, which holds Australian Financial Services Licence AFSL 385620. International clients may instead contract with Gleneagle Securities Pty Limited trading as Global Prime FX, which is regulated by the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission (VFSC). Those are not equivalent regulatory arrangements.
Our verdict is positive for experienced forex and CFD traders who want competitive Raw pricing, MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5, flexible trading conditions and a broker with a long operating history.
The main reservation is not whether Global Prime exists or is regulated. It clearly does and is. The bigger question is which entity regulates your account and what protections that entity gives you.

Is Global Prime legit or a scam?
Global Prime is a legitimate broker based on the corporate and regulatory records we checked. We found no reasonable basis to describe Global Prime itself as a scam.
The Australian Government's ABN Lookup lists FMGP Trading Group Pty Ltd, ABN 74 146 086 017, as an active Australian private company. The record traces the entity back to October 2010 and lists Global Prime as a registered business name.
Global Prime states that FMGP Trading Group Pty Ltd operates under Australian Financial Services Licence 385620. Its Australian Product Disclosure Statement also identifies FMGP Trading Group Pty Ltd as the issuer of Global Prime products under AFSL 385620.
For international business, Global Prime identifies Gleneagle Securities Pty Limited trading as Global Prime FX as its Vanuatu entity, regulated by the VFSC.
That is meaningful evidence of a real operating brokerage. It does not mean trading with Global Prime is risk-free, and regulation should not be confused with a guarantee that every customer will have a perfect experience.
There is also an important fraud-prevention distinction here: a scam website can falsely claim another company's licence number. Always make sure you are dealing with the genuine Global Prime website and that the company named in your account agreement matches the regulated entity you expect.
Is Global Prime safe?
Global Prime has client-money safeguards, but the protection available to you depends on the entity that holds your account.
Global Prime states that client money is kept separate from company funds in segregated Client Trust Accounts with National Australia Bank. Its Australian materials also state that negative balance protection applies to Australian retail clients.
The international arrangement requires more care. Global Prime's funding documentation identifies its international entity as Gleneagle Securities Pty Ltd trading as Global Prime FX. The documentation says funds for this entity are held in segregated client trust accounts. It also states that client money can be used for hedging and that no deposit compensation scheme applies to this entity.
A segregated account does not make trading risk-free. It is one part of the protection framework, not a guarantee against losses or every type of dispute.
Global Prime Australia vs Global Prime FX
| Global Prime Australia | Global Prime FX | |
|---|---|---|
| Legal entity | FMGP Trading Group Pty Ltd | Gleneagle Securities Pty Ltd |
| Regulator | ASIC | VFSC |
| Jurisdiction | Australia | Vanuatu |
| Licence/reference | AFSL 385620 | Company No. 40256 |
| Segregated client funds | Yes | Yes |
| Client-money treatment | Australian client-money rules apply | Different VFSC framework |
| Deposit compensation scheme | Check applicable Australian protections and account documentation | Global Prime states none |
| Suitable approach | Stronger option where available | Understand offshore protections before funding |
The practical rule is simple: check the legal entity on the account-opening documents. Do not rely on the Global Prime brand alone.
What are Global Prime's fees and spreads?
Global Prime offers Standard and Raw accounts. The better option depends on your trading frequency, position size, instruments and the spreads available when you trade.
Round-turn commission against comparable brokers
Published commission, round turn on one standard lot. Spreads and exchange fees are charged separately.
Global Prime Standard vs Raw account
| Feature | Standard | Raw |
|---|---|---|
| Spread from | 0.9 pips | 0.0 pips |
| Commission | $0 | $3.50 per side on USD account |
| Minimum trade | 0.01 lot | 0.01 lot |
| Scalping | Yes | Yes |
| Expert Advisors | Yes | Yes |
| Hedging | Yes | Yes |
| Account currencies | USD, AUD, GBP, EUR, CAD, SGD, JPY | USD, AUD, GBP, EUR, CAD, SGD, JPY |
The Raw account's $3.50-per-side commission means a standard one-lot forex trade on a USD account costs $7 round turn in commission, before adding the actual market spread.
For a forex pair where one pip is worth $10 per standard lot, that $7 commission is equivalent to approximately 0.7 pips of trading cost before the raw spread.
That calculation is more useful than simply looking at a headline claiming “0.0 pip spreads”. A 0.0-pip minimum does not mean a complete trade costs nothing.
The better comparison is: effective cost = spread + round-turn commission + applicable swap/financing costs
The cheapest Global Prime account therefore depends on your trading frequency, average trade size, instruments and actual spreads at the times you trade.
Does Global Prime really have a $0 minimum deposit?
Global Prime has no formal minimum account deposit requirement, but individual funding methods can still impose transaction minimums.
Global Prime states that there is a $0 minimum account size and no formal minimum amount required to open an account.
That does not mean you can literally deposit $0 through a payment provider.
For example, Global Prime's current funding table lists minimum deposits of approximately $10 USD equivalent for methods including Visa, Mastercard, cryptocurrency, PayPal, Neteller and Skrill. PayID is listed with a A$1 minimum. Availability varies by country.
So the accurate answer is:
Global Prime has no broker-level minimum account deposit, but the payment method you use may have its own minimum transaction amount.
Which trading platforms does Global Prime offer?
Global Prime offers MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5 and browser-based WebTrader access.
MT4 and MT5 are available on desktop and mobile. WebTrader provides browser access to MetaTrader. Global Prime says TradingView support is planned, but its platform page describes TradingView as forthcoming rather than as a live execution platform.
The broker may suit traders who already use:
- MetaTrader 4
- MetaTrader 5
- Expert Advisors
- automated forex strategies
- custom indicators
- scalping strategies
- hedging strategies
Both Standard and Raw accounts currently permit scalping, Expert Advisors and hedging.
If TradingView execution is important to your strategy, confirm that it is live and available for your account before opening one.
What can you trade with Global Prime?
Global Prime provides more than 250 CFD markets covering forex, crypto, indices, commodities and US shares.
Its MT5 offering includes:
- 56 forex currency pairs
- cryptocurrency CFDs
- more than 20 commodities
- more than 100 US share CFDs
- more than 15 major indices
Remember that these are predominantly CFD products.
When trading a Global Prime US Share CFD, for example, you are speculating on the price movement of the underlying company rather than purchasing and owning the actual share. Global Prime allows traders to take both long and short CFD positions.
That makes Global Prime fundamentally different from a traditional investment platform designed to buy and hold physical shares or ETFs.
How much leverage does Global Prime offer?
Maximum leverage can reach 1:1000 on eligible products and accounts, but available leverage depends on the instrument, client classification and jurisdiction.
Global Prime currently advertises leverage between 1:30 and 1:1000. Its trading-condition pages list maximum leverage of up to 1:1000 for major and minor forex CFDs and gold, while crypto CFDs are listed at substantially lower maximum leverage.
Australian retail leverage is subject to Australian regulatory restrictions, so traders should not assume a headline maximum of 1:1000 applies to an ASIC retail account.
Higher leverage is not inherently an advantage. It reduces the margin required to control a position but also allows losses to accumulate much faster relative to the capital deposited.
Are Global Prime deposits and withdrawals good?
Global Prime lists a wide range of funding methods and generally advertises $0 broker fees for its listed deposit and withdrawal options. Payment providers, banks and intermediary institutions can still charge their own fees.
Current deposit methods include:
- Visa
- Mastercard
- Apple Pay
- PayPal
- Neteller
- Skrill
- cryptocurrency
- bank wire
- PayID
- Interac
- regional payment methods
Availability depends on your country and account.
Global Prime states that most non-bank-wire withdrawals are processed within hours, with many completed in under two hours. Bank-wire withdrawals are listed as taking about three to five business days. These are broker-stated processing times, not a guarantee of when every customer will receive funds.
The broker lists $0 withdrawal fees for many methods. International banks and intermediary banks can charge separately. Global Prime specifically warns that international bank-transfer costs may arise outside its control.
A payment method shown on the general funding page may also be unavailable in your country. Check the options shown inside your account before depositing.
What do Global Prime customer reviews say?
Global Prime's aggregate customer-review scores are strong, although individual complaints still need to be taken seriously rather than hidden behind the average rating.
As checked on 10 September 2026, Trustpilot showed Global Prime at 4.7 out of 5 from 563 reviews, with 84% of reviews rated five stars.
Forex Peace Army showed a rating of approximately 4.61 from 441 reviews.
Positive reviews frequently mention customer support, spreads, execution and withdrawals.
Negative reviews also exist. Recent complaints include problems involving account verification, withdrawal access and the availability of particular withdrawal methods.
Review-platform scores should therefore be treated as a sentiment signal, not proof of financial safety. Anyone can submit a review, and individual experiences can differ significantly.
Regulatory status, legal entity, client-money rules and the actual account agreement matter more than whether a broker has a 4.7 rather than a 4.5 review score.
What are the main advantages of Global Prime?
Global Prime's main advantages are:
- Established operating history: the underlying Australian company dates to 2010.
- ASIC-regulated Australian operation: FMGP Trading Group Pty Ltd operates under AFSL 385620.
- Competitive Raw account: spreads from 0.0 pips with $3.50-per-side commission on USD accounts.
- No formal minimum account deposit: useful for testing the broker with limited capital before committing more.
- MT4 and MT5: familiar platforms with support for Expert Advisors and automated strategies.
- 250+ CFD markets: sufficient coverage for traders focused on forex, indices, commodities, crypto and major US shares.
- Broad funding options: numerous card, wallet, bank and regional payment methods are listed.
- Strong public review scores: both Trustpilot and Forex Peace Army currently show high aggregate ratings.
What are the disadvantages of Global Prime?
The main weaknesses are equally important.
Regulatory protection varies by jurisdiction. An Australian ASIC account and an offshore VFSC account should not be treated as interchangeable simply because both carry the Global Prime brand.
Global Prime is primarily a leveraged CFD broker. It is not the obvious choice for investors wanting to purchase and hold actual shares, ETFs or other long-term investments.
The Raw account is not literally free at a 0.0-pip spread. The commission still has to be included when calculating the effective cost of trading.
Funding methods vary geographically. A payment or withdrawal method shown on the main website may not be available in your country.
There is no spotless customer-review record. Recent negative reports concerning verification and withdrawals show why traders should test deposits, trading and withdrawals with a smaller amount before committing substantial capital.
Who is Global Prime best for?
Global Prime is best suited to intermediate and experienced forex or CFD traders who understand leverage, margin and financing costs.
It may suit traders who:
- actively trade forex or CFDs
- prefer MT4 or MT5
- use Expert Advisors or automated strategies
- want a Raw spread account
- scalp or hedge
- want access to multiple CFD asset classes
- understand leverage and margin risk
- have verified which Global Prime legal entity will hold their account
Australian residents may have the option of dealing with the ASIC-regulated Australian entity, subject to eligibility.
Who should avoid Global Prime?
Global Prime is a weaker fit if you:
- want to buy actual shares rather than CFDs
- mainly invest passively for the long term
- want an FCA or European-regulated account with the protections applicable to those regimes
- are uncomfortable using an offshore entity
- need TradingView execution and cannot confirm it is live for your account
- do not understand leverage, margin calls or CFD financing
- live in a restricted jurisdiction
Global Prime states that it cannot accept clients from several jurisdictions, including the United States, Japan, New Zealand and Ontario. Restrictions can change, so check your eligibility directly before applying.
Global Prime review: final verdict
Global Prime is a credible forex and CFD broker and is worth considering, particularly for experienced traders looking for Raw pricing and MT4 or MT5.
The Australian operation has the strongest case. FMGP Trading Group Pty Ltd is an active Australian company associated with Global Prime and operates under AFSL 385620. The broker has existed since 2010, offers competitive Standard and Raw accounts, supports automated trading and currently provides more than 250 CFD markets.
The deciding factor for international traders is the contracting entity.
If your account falls under Global Prime FX in Vanuatu, do not assume that the protections available to Australian retail clients transfer to you. Read the account agreement, identify the legal entity, understand its client-money rules and verify the available withdrawal methods before depositing significant funds.
For traders comfortable with those conditions, Global Prime is a serious contender rather than a broker we would dismiss.
For traders who prioritise the strongest possible regulatory protection over leverage or offshore flexibility, comparing Global Prime with brokers regulated directly in their own jurisdiction makes sense.
Is Global Prime regulated?
Yes. Global Prime's Australian business operates through FMGP Trading Group Pty Ltd under Australian Financial Services Licence 385620. Global Prime FX is operated by Gleneagle Securities Pty Limited and regulated by the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission.
Is Global Prime a scam?
There is no reasonable evidence in the corporate and regulatory records reviewed to classify Global Prime itself as a scam. FMGP Trading Group Pty Ltd is an active Australian company, and Global Prime identifies it as the holder of AFSL 385620. Separate customer complaints should still be assessed on their own facts.
What is the minimum deposit at Global Prime?
Global Prime states that it has no formal minimum deposit. Individual payment methods can set their own transaction minimums, commonly around $10 USD equivalent.
Does Global Prime have MT4 and MT5?
Yes. Global Prime supports MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 on desktop and mobile, along with WebTrader access.
What is the Global Prime Raw account commission?
The Raw account charges $3.50 per side per standard lot on USD-denominated accounts. That equals $7 in round-turn commission, before the applicable raw spread.
Can you withdraw money from Global Prime?
Global Prime supports withdrawals through bank transfer, cryptocurrency and selected electronic wallets. The broker says that many non-bank withdrawals are processed within hours, while the final receipt time depends on the method, compliance checks and payment provider.
Editorial note: This review is based on publicly available regulatory records, Global Prime's legal and product documents, pricing pages and independent customer-review platforms checked in September 2026. It does not claim first-hand testing of execution or withdrawals. Trading leveraged forex and CFDs can result in substantial losses.
