Overview

AMP Futures is a strong futures broker for active, self-directed traders who want very low day-trading margins, competitive trading costs and unusually broad platform choice. I would recommend AMP Futures for experienced futures day traders and scalpers, particularly users of Quantower, TradingView or Sierra Chart. I would not make it my first choice for a complete beginner who wants a polished all-in-one brokerage experience or extensive hand-holding.

The biggest strengths are straightforward: AMP Global Clearing, LLC is a regulated US Futures Commission Merchant, the minimum deposit is $100, Micro E-mini S&P 500 day-trading margin is currently $40, E-mini S&P 500 day-trading margin is $400, and AMP advertises more than 50 trading platforms across CQG, Rithmic, Trading Technologies and Teton connectivity.

The catch is equally important. AMP's low advertised margins are entry requirements, not sensible measures of how much capital you should risk. Margins can also be increased, the platform and market-data structure takes some learning, and public customer feedback includes occasional serious complaints about funding and withdrawals.

Main drawbackLess integrated and beginner-friendly than brokers built around one proprietary platform
Other concernMargin changes and funding/withdrawal friction deserve attention

AMP Futures makes sense when execution costs, low intraday capital requirements and platform freedom matter more than having everything inside one simple brokerage app.

NinjaTrader is the more obvious alternative if you want the broker and trading software to feel like one product. EdgeClear is worth comparing if higher-touch broker service matters more than minimising costs.

Is AMP Futures legit and regulated?

Yes. AMP Futures is the trading name associated with AMP Global Clearing, LLC, a US Futures Commission Merchant operating within the CFTC and NFA framework.

AMP identifies AMP Global Clearing, LLC as a CFTC-regulated FCM, CME Group clearing member and NFA member under NFA ID 0412490.

CFTC financial data dated April 30, 2026 listed the following figures for AMP Global Clearing:

CFTC-reported figureApril 30, 2026
Adjusted net capital$19.25 million
Required net capital$5.00 million
Excess net capital$14.25 million
Customer assets in segregation$113.12 million
Required customer segregation$92.74 million
Excess segregated funds$20.38 million

The figures show that AMP reported capital above its regulatory requirement and customer segregated funds above the required amount on that reporting date. They do not remove future financial, operational or trading risk.

US futures customer funds held by an FCM must be segregated from the firm's own money. That is meaningful protection, but futures accounts are not insured accounts. The NFA warns that customers might not recover everything if an insolvent FCM has insufficient customer funds.

Has AMP Futures had regulatory problems?

Yes. AMP has historical regulatory action that belongs in a due-diligence review.

In 2018, the CFTC ordered AMP Global Clearing to pay $100,000 over supervision failures involving its information-security programme. The case concerned failures from 2016 into 2017. It also involved an incident in which an unaffiliated third party accessed AMP's network and copied customer records.

This is historical enforcement, not evidence that AMP had the same cybersecurity weaknesses in 2026. It is still relevant information for anyone assessing the broker.

How much does AMP Futures cost?

AMP Futures has no single commission figure that describes every account. Your actual cost depends on the futures contract, brokerage commission, exchange fees, NFA charges, clearing, order routing, market data and, in some cases, the platform.

AMP's commission documentation directs traders to its Exact Cost Calculator because pricing varies by platform and volume. AMP says the calculator combines the relevant charges into an all-in trading cost.

That is the number I would compare against another broker, not an isolated "$X commission" headline.

AMP Futures market data fees

For non-professional traders, AMP's market-data prices effective June 1, 2026 include:

CME market dataMonthly price
All CME markets, Level 1$15
All CME markets, Level 2$45
CME only, Level 1$5
CME only, Level 2$17
CBOT only, Level 1$5
CBOT only, Level 2$17
NYMEX only, Level 1$5
NYMEX only, Level 2$17
COMEX only, Level 1$5
COMEX only, Level 2$17

The exchange distinction matters.

A trader who only needs top-of-book data for CME-listed MES, ES, MNQ and NQ may not need the $15 bundle. The $5 CME Level 1 package may be enough for the relevant exchange. A trader who moves between CME, CBOT, COMEX and NYMEX products may find the bundle cheaper than separate subscriptions.

AMP says CQG and Teton have no extra monthly data-feed charge beyond the relevant exchange data. Rithmic and Trading Technologies can add connectivity or service charges.

Does AMP Futures have inactivity fees?

No. AMP currently states that it charges no monthly inactivity fee or maintenance fee.

AMP Futures margins explained

AMP Futures offers very low day-trading margin requirements, especially on equity-index futures. Low margin does not mean low risk.

These figures were checked against AMP's live margin schedule in September 2026. Margins can change.

The difference between $40 of MES day margin and a $2,863 maintenance requirement shows what AMP's low-margin offer is for: opening intraday positions with less idle capital. It is not a safe way to carry a position with a tiny account.

Is a $100 AMP Futures account actually enough?

No. AMP requires only $100 to activate a live account, and the current MES day margin is $40. That does not make $100 sensible trading capital.

One MES contract moves $5 for each one-point move in the S&P 500 index because the contract has a $5 index multiplier. A 10-point adverse move therefore produces a $50 loss before commissions and fees. On a $100 account, that is half the account.

AMP's $100 minimum tells you how little money is needed to open the account. It should not set your risk-management model.

Can AMP Futures increase margin requirements?

Yes. AMP states that its margin requirements can change at any time without prior notice.

AMP also says displayed day-trading margins are doubled for account balances above $100,000.

Public criticism of AMP has included temporary margin increases during volatile periods and important economic events. Traders on Reddit reported substantial increases during the April 2025 market volatility and further increases around Federal Reserve events in 2026. These are individual reports, not evidence of how often AMP changes margins. They are consistent with AMP's stated ability to change requirements. A strategy that only works while AMP offers the absolute minimum intraday margin is undercapitalised.

AMP's own documentation also contains a timing difference worth checking. Its live margin page says reduced day margins are in force except for the last 15 minutes of a trading session. An August 2026 FAQ says they apply except for the last five minutes. Both pages indicate that exchange maintenance margin becomes relevant near the daily close.

Because the official pages conflict on the exact window, check AMP's live rules before carrying a position into the close.

What trading platforms does AMP Futures support?

AMP supports more than 50 advertised trading platforms and four data-feed options. Customers are not forced onto one proprietary frontend.

Available combinations include Quantower, TradingView, MetaTrader 5 and Sierra Chart, along with specialist futures software connecting through CQG or Rithmic. AMP's supported feeds are CQG, Rithmic, Trading Technologies and Teton.

AMP customers receive the full Quantower version, including advanced features, without a separate Quantower platform subscription. Sierra Chart users can connect through Teton order routing with AMP selected as the clearing firm.

The choice is useful, but it adds decisions. You need to understand the role of the frontend, broker, clearing firm, exchange subscription and data feed before choosing a setup.

Does AMP Futures work with TradingView?

Yes. AMP Futures integrates with TradingView through AMP-provided CQG credentials.

AMP says there is no additional monthly AMP connection fee for trading exchange-listed futures through TradingView. Existing AMP and CQG market-data entitlements can also be recognised by TradingView, so traders do not need to buy the same exchange data twice simply to place trades from TradingView.

For traders already committed to TradingView, this makes AMP more attractive.

Which AMP Futures platform setup is best?

For most retail futures traders, I would narrow the huge platform catalogue rather than treating "50+ platforms" as inherently better.

TraderSetup I would investigate first
Wants simple browser/mobile chartingTradingView + CQG
Wants a capable desktop platform without another licence billQuantower + CQG
Serious Sierra Chart userSierra Chart + Teton
Existing Rithmic ecosystem userCompatible platform + Rithmic
Institutional or specialist TT requirementTrading Technologies, after checking its additional costs

The benefit is choice. The cost is a longer setup process and more responsibility for the trader.

This is one reason AMP feels less beginner-friendly than a vertically integrated product such as NinjaTrader.

AMP Futures deposits and withdrawals

US customers can fund AMP through bank wire, ACH via Plaid or personal cheque. International customers primarily use bank wires.

Domestic ACH withdrawals are free. Domestic and international wire withdrawals carry a $30 AMP fee.

AMP also uses a closed-loop funding policy. Withdrawals generally need to return to the originating bank relationship, and third-party transfers are not accepted.

Are AMP Futures withdrawals reliable?

The public evidence is mixed.

Trustpilot currently shows AMP Futures at 4.3 out of 5 across roughly 1,000 reviews. Many recent reviews praise individual support staff. Trustpilot also reports that AMP replies to 96% of negative reviews, usually within 48 hours.

Some negative reviews describe failed or repeatedly cancelled wire withdrawals and difficult treasury communication. One February 2026 Trustpilot reviewer described repeated failed withdrawal attempts before Treasury resolved the account configuration problem. A separate 2025 Reddit post described a failed $65,000 wire that had not initially been returned to the trading account.

My interpretation is therefore not "AMP has withdrawal problems." The defensible conclusion is that public feedback is broadly positive overall, while funding and treasury operations account for some of the more serious negative experiences.

The defensible conclusion is that public feedback is broadly positive overall, while funding and treasury operations account for some of the more serious negative experiences. If quick access to a large withdrawal matters to you, test the process with a modest withdrawal before assuming a large wire will be easy.

What is AMP Futures customer service like?

AMP advertises 24-hour customer service and trade-desk support. Its current Trustpilot profile includes substantial positive feedback about support interactions.

Community feedback is less consistent. Some long-term users describe AMP as reliable and responsive. Other traders report problems with onboarding, slow ACH funding or support that is less useful when an issue moves from platform support to treasury operations.

That matches the broker's wider position in the market. AMP is best treated as trading infrastructure for someone who already knows what they need, not as a training environment with futures access.

Can international traders use AMP Futures?

Yes. AMP accepts applicants from many countries outside the United States, subject to jurisdiction and compliance restrictions.

AMP's June 2026 guidance says international clients can apply. Its restricted-country rules exclude some jurisdictions. Canadian availability is currently limited mainly to Alberta, Ontario and Quebec, with British Columbia potentially accepted at senior-management discretion.

International clients generally fund and withdraw by wire rather than US ACH. AMP supports account funding in currencies including USD, EUR, GBP, CHF, PLN, AED, CAD, AUD, HKD, JPY, NZD and SGD.

That availability is an advantage over some US-focused futures platforms.

AMP Futures risk controls

AMP uses a default broker-side risk policy rather than allowing customers to customise every control.

According to AMP's August 2026 FAQ, customers cannot set their own AMP-level daily-loss limit or contract-size limit. AMP says that when account net liquidity reaches its default 80% daily-loss limit, open positions will be submitted for liquidation. Forced liquidations caused by that limit or by margin requirements can incur a $25 per-contract fee under the standard policy.

This matters if broker-enforced risk limits are an important part of your process.

AMP Futures vs EdgeClear

EdgeClear is the alternative to investigate when trader support matters more than finding the lowest operational cost.

EdgeClear supports major futures platforms and data infrastructure, including CQG, Rithmic, TT and Sierra Chart Teton. It also supports direct TradingView integration. Its TradingView listing currently states a $500 account minimum.

AMP's $100 minimum and low-cost positioning make it the clearer price-led choice. EdgeClear deserves consideration from traders willing to fund more and place greater value on a broker relationship built around higher-touch service.

What are the main pros and cons of AMP Futures?

AMP Futures' main advantages are:

The main trade-offs are:

Is AMP Futures good for beginners?

No. AMP Futures would not be my first recommendation for someone completely new to futures.

The $100 minimum deposit and $40 MES margin make the account look accessible, but access to a margin-based product is not the same as a simple learning environment.

A new trader also needs to understand exchange subscriptions, market-data levels, data feeds, trading platforms, day margin, maintenance margin and AMP's liquidation policy. NinjaTrader's integrated ecosystem is easier to explain to someone starting from zero.

AMP becomes more attractive once the trader understands those mechanics.

Is AMP Futures good for scalping and day trading?

Yes. Active intraday futures trading is where AMP's offer makes the most sense.

Low day-trading margins reduce the amount of idle capital needed to open positions. The range of supported platforms also lets scalpers choose software based on execution, DOM, order flow or charting needs rather than being limited to a broker-owned platform.

The important distinction is simple: low margin improves capital efficiency. It does not make a futures position less risky.

Is AMP Futures safe?

AMP Futures is a legitimate regulated US futures broker, but "regulated" should not be translated into "risk-free".

AMP Global Clearing is reported as an FCM with capital above its CFTC requirement, and US futures customer money is subject to segregation rules. Futures customer accounts are not insured, trading losses remain the customer's responsibility, operational problems can occur and AMP has historical regulatory enforcement on its record.

That is a much more useful answer than either "yes, totally safe" or "no broker is safe."

Final verdict: should you use AMP Futures?

AMP Futures is one of the more compelling brokers for a technically competent, cost-sensitive futures trader. I would shortlist it for active day trading, especially if you want Quantower, TradingView, Sierra Chart or the freedom to choose between multiple execution stacks.

The combination of a $100 account minimum, $40 MES margin, $400 ES margin, no inactivity fee and broad platform choice is difficult to ignore.

I would not open an AMP account simply because the margin requirements let you trade a futures contract with very little cash. That is the wrong reason to choose any broker.

Before funding the account, price the exact contract, platform, feed and market-data combination through AMP's all-in cost calculator. Then capitalise the account according to your actual stop distance and drawdown tolerance rather than AMP's minimum margin.

For an experienced futures trader, AMP Futures makes the shortlist. For a beginner looking for the simplest route into futures, NinjaTrader is the cleaner starting point.

The main information-gain pieces I deliberately built in are the CFTC capital/segregation data, the $100-account/MES risk calculation, the discrepancy between AMP's own 5-minute and 15-minute margin documentation, and the distinction between verified funding rules and anecdotal withdrawal complaints. That gives the page far more citation value than another thin "pros, cons, 4.3/5" affiliate review.
