Overview
Eightcap is a good choice for active forex and CFD traders who want competitive Raw account pricing and prefer TradingView or MetaTrader over a broker's proprietary platform. Its Raw account offers spreads from 0.0 pips with a $3.50 commission per standard lot per side, while its Standard account starts from 1.0 pips with no trading commission on most products. Eightcap also provides access to more than 800 CFD markets.
The strongest reasons to choose Eightcap are its pricing and platform integrations. The main reasons not to choose it are its relatively limited research and education, lack of direct share dealing, and dependence on third-party trading platforms.
Our verdict: Eightcap is recommended for experienced CFD traders, scalpers, algorithmic traders and TradingView users. Beginners who want extensive education, long-term investors buying real shares, or traders wanting the widest possible market range can find better alternatives.
> CFD risk warning: Eightcap EU currently reports that 71.90% of retail investor accounts lose money trading CFDs with the provider. Eightcap's UK entity reports 78%. CFDs are leveraged products and can produce rapid losses.

Is Eightcap legit?
Yes. Eightcap is a legitimate CFD broker operating through several regulated legal entities.
Three particularly important Eightcap entities are:
- Eightcap Pty Ltd is regulated by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission under AFSL 391441.
- Eightcap Group Ltd is authorised and regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority under FRN 921296.
- Eightcap EU Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission under licence 246/14.
Eightcap also operates international entities regulated in jurisdictions including the Bahamas, Seychelles and Mauritius.
That does not mean every Eightcap customer receives identical protection.
A UK customer opening with Eightcap Group Ltd is operating under FCA rules. An EU customer dealing with Eightcap EU Ltd is under CySEC regulation. A customer assigned to an offshore Eightcap entity may receive different leverage limits, compensation arrangements and regulatory protections.
The practical rule is simple: do not judge a CFD broker only by the licences displayed in its footer. Check the exact legal entity named in your account agreement.
How safe is Eightcap?
Eightcap has a stronger regulatory structure than an unregulated or purely offshore CFD broker, but CFD trading itself remains high risk.
For UK retail clients, Eightcap's client agreement states that client money is segregated from the firm's own funds in accordance with FCA client-money rules. The same agreement states that eligible investment claims may be covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, generally for 100% of the first £85,000 per person where the relevant conditions are met.
For EU retail clients, Eightcap documentation states that eligible customers may receive compensation of up to €20,000 from the Investor Compensation Fund if Eightcap EU Ltd becomes insolvent and cannot meet its obligations.
Retail clients also receive protections that can disappear if they elect professional status. Eightcap EU explicitly states that professional clients lose protections including negative balance protection, retail leverage limits and Investor Compensation Fund coverage.
This creates an important distinction:
Eightcap being regulated reduces broker and custody risk. It does not reduce the market risk created by leveraged CFD trading.
Eightcap fees and spreads
Eightcap offers two main account types: Standard and Raw. Eightcap says both accounts provide access to the same markets and trading tools. The Raw account is usually the better fit for active forex traders because it separates the spread from the commission. The Standard account includes the broker's compensation in the spread. The Raw account shows a smaller underlying spread and adds a commission. Eightcap quotes the following minimum EUR/USD prices: On one standard EUR/USD lot, one pip is approximately $10. A 1.0-pip spread therefore represents about $10 in spread cost. At the quoted minimum: If the Raw spread were 0.0 pips at execution, the Raw account would cost about $3 less for that trade. This is an illustration, not a guaranteed cost. Eightcap uses variable spreads, and real costs change with liquidity, volatility, time of day and instrument. Standard may be more convenient for occasional traders who prefer a single spread rather than a separate commission. Eightcap says it does not normally charge internal deposit or withdrawal fees. Banks, payment providers, currency conversion and international intermediaries may still add charges. Payment methods vary by jurisdiction. Eightcap's global withdrawal information lists cards, bank transfers, Skrill and Neteller, with processing times that depend on the method. A withdrawal marked as fee-free is not necessarily instant. Eightcap says withdrawals are reviewed by its finance team before release.
Round-turn commission against comparable brokers
Published commission, round turn on one standard lot. Spreads and exchange fees are charged separately.
Eightcap Standard vs Raw account
| Feature | Standard account | Raw account |
|---|---|---|
| Spreads | From 1.0 pips | From 0.0 pips |
| Forex commission | None | $3.50 per standard lot per side on USD accounts |
| Round-trip USD commission | $0 | $7 per standard lot |
| Minimum trade size | 0.01 lots | 0.01 lots |
| Minimum deposit | $100 | $100 |
| Markets | 800+ CFDs | 800+ CFDs |
| Best suited to | Simpler pricing | Active and cost-sensitive traders |
Eightcap states that both account types provide access to the same markets and trading tools.
Which Eightcap account is better?
The Raw account is the better default for active forex traders.
The reason is simple. The Standard account builds the broker's compensation into the spread, while Raw separates the underlying spread from the commission.
For example, Eightcap currently quotes EUR/USD minimum spreads of:
- Standard: 1.0 pip
- Raw: 0.0 pips
- Raw commission: $7 round trip per standard lot
On one standard EUR/USD lot, where one pip is approximately $10, a 1.0-pip spread represents roughly $10 of spread cost.
At the quoted minimum:
- Standard: approximately $10
- Raw: approximately $7 commission plus whatever Raw spread is available
If the Raw spread were actually 0.0 at execution, that would make the Raw account around $3 cheaper for that trade.
That is an illustration rather than a guaranteed trading cost. Eightcap uses variable spreads, so real execution costs change with liquidity, volatility, time of day and instrument.
For occasional traders who value simpler pricing more than marginal cost savings, Standard remains perfectly reasonable.
Does Eightcap charge deposit or withdrawal fees?
Eightcap says it does not normally charge internal fees for deposits or withdrawals, although banks, payment providers, currency conversion and international intermediaries can create additional charges.
Available payment methods vary by jurisdiction.
Eightcap's global withdrawal information currently lists options including cards, bank transfers, Skrill and Neteller, with processing times that vary by method. Eightcap also states that withdrawals are reviewed by its finance team before being released.
This means "no withdrawal fee" should not be confused with "instant withdrawal".
What can you trade with Eightcap?
Eightcap focuses on CFDs rather than traditional investing. Its product range includes more than 800 CFD markets across:
Eightcap lists more than 40 forex pairs on its own forex market page. Independent testing in 2026 counted 55 forex pairs and 803 total tradeable symbols.
- forex
- share CFDs
- index CFDs
- commodity CFDs
- cryptocurrency CFDs where local regulation permits them.
That range covers most mainstream forex and CFD strategies, but Eightcap is not a full multi-asset investment account.
You cannot use Eightcap to buy and hold actual company shares. Share CFDs track price movements without giving you ownership of the underlying shares. Independent 2026 testing also found no direct share dealing, futures or options within Eightcap's usual product range. Yes, Eightcap has a relatively broad cryptocurrency CFD range compared with many forex-focused brokers.
Independent testing in 2026 found roughly 100 crypto CFDs. Eightcap's own market pages list instruments based on Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cardano and Solana. A crypto CFD is a derivative contract, not cryptocurrency ownership. You speculate on the price but do not receive coins that can be transferred to a personal wallet.
Availability depends on the local entity and regulations. UK retail traders cannot access cryptocurrency CFDs through Eightcap.
Is Eightcap good for crypto trading?
Eightcap is unusually strong for cryptocurrency CFDs relative to many forex-focused brokers.
Independent testing in 2026 found roughly 100 crypto CFDs available through the broker. Eightcap's own market pages currently include instruments based on Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cardano and Solana.
However, a crypto CFD is not the same thing as owning cryptocurrency.
You are speculating on the price through a derivative contract. You do not receive Bitcoin or Ethereum that can be transferred into a personal crypto wallet.
Availability is also jurisdiction-dependent. Crypto CFDs are not available to UK retail traders.
Eightcap trading platforms
Platform choice is one of Eightcap's main strengths. Depending on your country and legal entity, Eightcap supports: The EU offering currently lists TradingView and MetaTrader 5 rather than all four platforms. Customers should check their regional Eightcap website instead of relying on the global platform list. TradingView is one of the main reasons to consider Eightcap.
You can connect an Eightcap account directly to TradingView and place orders from its charts. You do not need to use TradingView only for analysis before switching to a separate execution platform. This setup suits traders who use TradingView for: MetaTrader 5 is the better fit for traders who use automated strategies and Expert Advisors.
- TradingView
- MetaTrader 4
- MetaTrader 5
- TradeLocker
Eightcap's MT5 offering includes 21 timeframes, more than 80 built-in indicators, strategy testing and automation tools. No. Eightcap does not currently centre its retail offering on a proprietary platform. That suits traders who already use TradingView or MetaTrader and do not want to learn another interface. It is less attractive to customers who want one broker-owned platform covering charts, research, education, account management and execution. Independent 2026 testing identified the lack of a proprietary platform as one of Eightcap's main weaknesses.
Eightcap and TradingView
TradingView is arguably the most compelling reason to use Eightcap.
An Eightcap trading account can be connected directly to TradingView so orders can be placed from TradingView charts rather than using TradingView only for analysis and then switching to another execution platform.
This setup suits discretionary technical traders who already use TradingView for:
- charting
- watchlists
- alerts
- Pine Script indicators
- technical analysis
- trading ideas and community data.
Eightcap and MetaTrader 5
MetaTrader 5 provides the stronger environment for traders who want automated strategies and Expert Advisors.
Eightcap's MT5 offering includes 21 timeframes, more than 80 built-in indicators and access to MT5's strategy-testing and automation functionality.
Does Eightcap have its own trading platform?
No proprietary Eightcap platform is currently the centre of its retail offering.
That is either a strength or a weakness depending on what you want.
If you already trade through TradingView or MetaTrader, there is little value in being forced onto another proprietary interface.
If you want a broker to provide one tightly integrated ecosystem containing proprietary charts, research, education, account management and execution, Eightcap is less compelling.
Independent 2026 testing identified the lack of a proprietary platform as one of Eightcap's main weaknesses.
Is Eightcap good for beginners?
Eightcap is usable by beginners, but it would not be our first choice for somebody who needs substantial trading education.
There is a demo account, market commentary, platform information and educational material. Eightcap also provides 24/5 multilingual customer support.
The problem is depth.
ForexBrokers.com's August 2026 review found Eightcap's structured education and proprietary research relatively thin compared with stronger education-focused brokers.
That matters because beginners need more than an execution platform.
Someone learning leverage, margin, position sizing and CFD risk may get greater value from a broker with extensive courses, webinars, simulations and a structured learning programme.
Eightcap becomes more attractive once the trader already knows what they want to trade and primarily needs good execution infrastructure.
Is Eightcap good for scalping and algorithmic trading?
Yes. Eightcap's Raw account and MetaTrader support make it a logical option for scalpers, Expert Advisor users and higher-frequency discretionary traders.
Eightcap explicitly states that scalping is allowed on its Standard and Raw account comparison page.
For these traders, the Raw structure is generally more relevant than the Standard account because trading costs become increasingly important as turnover rises.
Algorithmic traders can also use MetaTrader Expert Advisors, while TradingView users can build custom indicators and strategies with Pine Script.
Execution quality still needs to be judged on the specific instruments, trading sessions and position sizes you actually trade. A headline "0.0 pip" minimum spread does not tell you what your average realised spread and slippage will be.

Eightcap vs Pepperstone, IC Markets and IG
Eightcap sits in a competitive group of brokers targeting active CFD traders.
| Broker | Better choice when you prioritise |
|---|---|
| Eightcap | TradingView, Raw pricing and crypto CFD breadth |
| Pepperstone | Broader platform choice including cTrader and a proprietary platform |
| IC Markets | Raw-spread forex trading and cTrader |
| IG | Much broader market access, proprietary technology and education |
Pepperstone currently supports TradingView, MT4, MT5, cTrader and its own proprietary platform. Its Razor pricing also starts from 0.0-pip FX spreads, with commissions from $3.50 per lot per side on MT4/MT5.
IC Markets is the closest pricing-style competitor. Its EU Raw Spread MetaTrader account also charges $3.50 per standard lot per side and publishes average EUR/USD Raw spreads around 0.1 pips.
IG is the stronger alternative when market breadth and education matter more than Eightcap's specialist trading setup. IG advertises access to 17,000 markets and provides its own trading application and IG Academy.
There is therefore no universal winner.
Choose Eightcap when you already know how to trade and want a relatively clean combination of Raw pricing, CFDs and TradingView or MetaTrader.
Choose a broader provider when education, investment products or proprietary research matter more.
Is Eightcap a market maker?
Yes. At least some Eightcap entities act as the counterparty to CFD transactions.
For example, Eightcap Global Limited's client agreement defines the company as a Market Maker. It sets bid and offer quotes and may assume risk associated with customer trading activity.
This is worth understanding because marketing terms such as "raw spreads" should not automatically be interpreted as meaning a broker is legally acting as a pure agency-only ECN for every transaction.
For most traders, the practical measures are execution quality, spreads, slippage, rejected orders, latency and withdrawal reliability.
How long do Eightcap withdrawals take?
Eightcap withdrawals are not always instant.
On its global website, Eightcap says its finance team may take one to two business days to review a withdrawal before the payment method's processing time begins. Listed processing times range from about one business day for some electronic wallets to several business days for cards and bank transfers.
Eightcap may request identity or address documents as part of its anti-money-laundering and know-your-customer procedures.
The payment methods and timings shown in your client portal are more relevant than a general list on the global website because availability varies by country.
Who should use Eightcap?
Eightcap makes most sense for traders who fit one or more of these profiles:
TradingView traders: Eightcap's direct TradingView connection is one of its strongest features.
Active forex traders: Raw spreads and commission-based pricing make more sense as trading frequency increases.
Scalpers: Eightcap permits scalping and offers 0.01-lot minimum trade sizes.
MetaTrader algorithmic traders: MT4 and MT5 provide access to Expert Advisors where those platforms are offered.
Crypto CFD traders outside restricted jurisdictions: Eightcap has a deeper crypto CFD range than many forex-first brokers.
Eightcap makes less sense for:
Long-term investors: Eightcap offers share CFDs rather than ownership of the underlying stocks.
Complete beginners: Other brokers provide considerably deeper structured education.
Traders who want thousands of niche markets: Eightcap's 800+ CFDs are respectable, but brokers such as IG offer substantially greater breadth.
Traders who want cTrader: Pepperstone and IC Markets are more obvious candidates.

Eightcap review: final verdict
Eightcap is worth considering if your priority is trading forex and CFDs through TradingView or MetaTrader at competitive trading costs.
The Raw account is the standout option. Spreads start from 0.0 pips, the USD commission is $3.50 per standard lot per side, and Eightcap combines that pricing with more than 800 CFD markets and strong third-party platform integrations.
It is not the strongest broker for every type of customer. Long-term investors should use a broker offering ownership of real shares and ETFs. Beginners who need intensive training can find better educational ecosystems. Traders wanting cTrader should compare Pepperstone and IC Markets.
For the trader Eightcap is actually built for, however, the proposition is clear:
If you are an experienced CFD trader who already uses TradingView or MetaTrader and wants competitive Raw pricing, Eightcap belongs on the shortlist.
Before depositing, verify the specific Eightcap legal entity that will hold your account. That determines your regulation, investor protection, leverage limits and, in some regions, which platforms and products you can actually use.
