Optimus Futures is the best overall Tradovate alternative for most active futures traders who actually want to move away from the Tradovate ecosystem. It combines competitive published commissions, TradingView integration, multiple trading platforms and multiple clearing relationships, rather than locking traders into one broker-platform stack. Optimus Futures currently advertises commissions from $0.25 per side for Micro futures and $0.75 per side for standard contracts.
The best alternative depends on why you want to leave Tradovate:
- Best overall Tradovate alternative: Optimus Futures
- Best for maximum platform and data-feed choice: AMP Futures
- Best for TradingView plus stocks, options and futures: TradeStation
- Best for broker support and professional futures platforms: EdgeClear
- Best for global and multi-asset traders: Interactive Brokers
- Best if you only dislike the Tradovate interface: NinjaTrader, but it is not an independent alternative to Tradovate
That last distinction matters. NinjaTrader acquired Tradovate in 2022, and in 2026 NinjaTrader Clearing operates under the NinjaTrader, Kraken Derivatives US and Tradovate trade names. NinjaTrader Group is now wholly owned by Kraken parent Payward. Switching from Tradovate to NinjaTrader therefore changes your front end, but it does not provide the same infrastructure diversification as moving to an unrelated broker.
How do the best Tradovate alternatives compare?
A useful Tradovate comparison needs to separate brokerage, trading platform and order-routing infrastructure. Tradovate bundles these together, while alternatives such as Optimus Futures, AMP Futures and EdgeClear let traders choose from multiple platforms or connectivity options.

*Broker commission is only part of the cost of futures trading. Exchange, clearing, routing, regulatory and market-data fees can also apply. Compare the all-in cost for the contracts you actually trade, not just the headline commission.
Tradovate currently offers a Free plan at $0.39 per side for Micro futures and $1.29 for standard futures, a $99 Monthly plan at $0.29 and $0.99 respectively, and a $1,499 Lifetime plan at $0.09 and $0.59. Exchange, clearing and NFA fees apply separately.
What are the best alternatives to Tradovate?
1. Optimus Futures: Best overall Tradovate alternative
Optimus Futures is an independent Introducing Broker and is not tied to a single Futures Commission Merchant. It supports more than 15 trading platforms, including Optimus Flow, Sierra Chart, TradingView and Bookmap. That gives traders substantially more control over their platform and clearing setup than the tightly integrated Tradovate model.
Published commissions start at $0.25 per side on Micro contracts and $0.75 per side on standard contracts. Optimus Flow has no monthly platform fee, while higher-volume traders can qualify for lower commission tiers.
Optimus Futures also integrates directly with TradingView. A funded Optimus account using CQG credentials can execute futures trades through TradingView on desktop, web and mobile.
Choose Optimus Futures if: you like Tradovate's relatively low-cost futures model but want more freedom over platforms, connectivity and clearing relationships.
Look elsewhere if: you want every asset class inside one brokerage account. Optimus Futures remains primarily a futures-focused brokerage.
2. AMP Futures: Best for platform and data-feed choice
AMP Global Clearing is a regulated Futures Commission Merchant and CME Group clearing member. AMP currently advertises 50+ trading platforms and four major data-feed options: CQG, TT, Rithmic and Teton.
That platform depth is the main reason to choose AMP over Tradovate.
Instead of adapting your workflow to one broker's software, you can build the setup around the platform and data feed you prefer. AMP supports TradingView and also provides access to platforms such as Quantower. Its current margin schedule lists, for example, a $40 day-trading margin for the Micro E-mini S&P 500, although margins can change and should never be treated as a measure of sensible position size.
AMP is less straightforward to compare on headline commissions because the final cost varies by contract, platform, routing and volume. AMP therefore provides an exact-cost calculator rather than one universal commission figure.
Choose AMP Futures if: you use platforms such as Quantower, Sierra Chart or TradingView and want broad choice over your trading stack.
Look elsewhere if: your priority is simplicity. More platform and feed combinations also mean more decisions.
3. TradeStation: Best Tradovate alternative for multi-asset traders
TradeStation Securities is both a broker-dealer and a CFTC-registered Futures Commission Merchant. It offers futures alongside equities and options rather than specialising almost entirely in futures.
TradeStation also has direct TradingView integration. Traders can connect a TradeStation account to TradingView and execute supported futures directly from TradingView charts across web, desktop and mobile.
For traders doing 0 to 500 futures contracts per month, TradeStation currently publishes commissions of $0.50 per side for Micros and $1.75 per side for regular futures, before the relevant additional fees. Rates fall at higher monthly volumes.
TradeStation also has a more developed automation and developer layer than most retail futures brokers. Its API supports stocks, options and futures, with REST, streaming and other connectivity options.
Choose TradeStation if: you want TradingView compatibility, futures execution and a broader multi-asset brokerage relationship.
Look elsewhere if: your only objective is obtaining the cheapest possible high-frequency Micro futures setup.
4. EdgeClear: Best for hands-on futures brokerage support
EdgeClear is a CFTC-regulated, NFA-registered futures Introducing Broker. Its platform ecosystem includes EdgeProX, TradingView and Sierra Chart, with connectivity including Rithmic, CQG and CTS.
EdgeProX itself is browser-based, so moving away from Tradovate does not necessarily mean moving back to a Windows-only desktop workflow. EdgeClear supports its EdgeProX platform through several different data-feed connections.
The trade-off is pricing transparency. EdgeClear asks traders for information such as volume, account equity and trading style before generating a tailored commission structure rather than publishing one simple universal rate.
That makes EdgeClear less attractive for someone comparing brokers purely from a spreadsheet, but potentially more attractive for a higher-volume trader who values broker support and wants a customised setup.
Choose EdgeClear if: service, platform configuration and professional futures infrastructure matter more than having the simplest signup funnel.
5. Interactive Brokers: Best for global futures and multiple asset classes
Interactive Brokers provides stocks, options, futures, currencies, bonds and other products across more than 170 markets worldwide through platforms including Trader Workstation, IBKR Desktop and IBKR Mobile.
For US futures, Interactive Brokers currently charges $0.85 per contract at up to 1,000 monthly contracts for its standard futures schedule. A separate category covering products including MES, MNQ, M2K, MYM and several other Micro futures starts at $0.25 per contract at the same volume level. Exchange and regulatory charges are additional.
Interactive Brokers can also connect directly to TradingView. Existing IBKR market-data subscriptions can be recognised by TradingView after the brokerage account is connected.
The weakness is fit rather than capability. Trader Workstation is enormously powerful, but a trader who simply wants to scalp MES from a clean DOM may find that much of the platform is unnecessary.
Choose Interactive Brokers if: you trade futures alongside global equities, options, currencies or other products.
Look elsewhere if: you want a futures-only brokerage designed primarily around retail intraday trading.
What about NinjaTrader?
NinjaTrader acquired Tradovate in 2022. Current regulatory disclosures identify NinjaTrader Clearing as doing business under the NinjaTrader, Tradovate and Kraken Derivatives US names.
Even more importantly, Tradovate's current pricing page states that its plans include access to NinjaTrader Desktop, Web and Mobile.
So there are two completely different scenarios:
If you dislike Tradovate's interface: try NinjaTrader before opening another brokerage account. You may be able to solve the problem without moving funds.
If you want independence from the Tradovate/NinjaTrader infrastructure: choose an unrelated provider such as Optimus Futures, AMP Futures, EdgeClear, TradeStation or Interactive Brokers.
Calling NinjaTrader the obvious Tradovate replacement without explaining that relationship misses one of the most important facts in the comparison.
Do you need a new broker or only a new trading platform?
Tradovate itself integrates with TradingView, allowing balances, positions and orders to be accessed through the TradingView environment.
This creates three different switching decisions:
- Interface problem: keep the brokerage and use TradingView or NinjaTrader.
- Platform or data-feed problem: consider a broker such as AMP Futures, Optimus Futures or EdgeClear that supports multiple technology stacks.
- Broker or infrastructure problem: move to an unrelated brokerage. Switching from Tradovate to NinjaTrader does not provide full organisational separation.
That distinction can save considerably more time than comparing another ten platforms with broadly similar features.
Is switching from Tradovate actually cheaper?
Tradovate's current Free plan charges $0.39 per Micro contract per side. The $99 Monthly plan reduces that to $0.29.
That $0.10 saving means the Monthly plan breaks even against the Free plan at approximately:
495 Micro round turns per month
Calculation: $99 ÷ ($0.10 saving × two sides) = 495.
For standard futures, the Free plan charges $1.29 per side and the Monthly plan charges $0.99. The $0.30 difference produces a break-even point of:
165 standard-contract round turns per month
The $1,499 Lifetime plan reduces commissions to $0.09 for Micros and $0.59 for standard futures. Compared with staying on the Free plan, the one-time fee is recovered after roughly:
- 2,499 Micro round turns, based on a $0.30 saving per side
- 1,071 standard-contract round turns, based on a $0.70 saving per side
These calculations use broker commission only. They exclude exchange, clearing, NFA, routing, platform and market-data charges, so they should be treated as a quick break-even model rather than an all-in trading-cost calculation. Tradovate's published rates are current at the time of writing.
The broader point is that commission rate alone should not decide the switch.
A broker charging $0.10 less per contract is not cheaper in practice if your preferred platform adds a monthly fee, your routing connection adds a per-side charge, or your workflow becomes materially worse.
Which Tradovate alternative should you choose?
Choose Optimus Futures if you want the most balanced replacement for Tradovate, particularly if you want TradingView plus more freedom over platforms and clearing relationships.
Choose AMP Futures if platform choice, data-feed choice and low intraday margin requirements are your priorities.
Choose TradeStation if you want futures, stocks and options under one brokerage and still want to execute through TradingView.
Choose EdgeClear if you value a specialist futures broker, individual support and professional platform choices.
Choose Interactive Brokers if global markets and multi-asset trading matter more than having a futures-specific retail trading experience.
Choose NinjaTrader if you like your existing Tradovate brokerage setup but want a different trading interface.
Frequently asked questions about Tradovate alternatives
What is the best alternative to Tradovate?
Optimus Futures is the best overall Tradovate alternative for most active futures traders who want an independent brokerage relationship. It combines published low commissions, direct TradingView support, more than 15 trading platforms and access to multiple clearing relationships.
AMP Futures is the stronger option when maximum platform and data-feed flexibility is the priority, while Interactive Brokers is better for global, multi-asset traders.
Is NinjaTrader better than Tradovate?
NinjaTrader is better for traders who want a deeper desktop platform, while Tradovate remains attractive for its cloud-first workflow. However, NinjaTrader and Tradovate are now part of the same brokerage organisation.
Tradovate users should therefore think of NinjaTrader primarily as another interface and technology option rather than a fully independent competing broker.
What Tradovate alternatives work with TradingView?
Optimus Futures, AMP Futures, TradeStation, EdgeClear and Interactive Brokers all provide TradingView connectivity. Tradovate itself also integrates directly with TradingView.
TradingView support therefore should not decide the comparison by itself. Compare supported order functionality, data feeds, routing costs and broker-specific limitations as well.
Is Tradovate the same as NinjaTrader?
Tradovate and NinjaTrader remain separate trading brands and platforms, but their brokerage operations are closely connected.
NinjaTrader acquired Tradovate in 2022. As of 2026, NinjaTrader Clearing operates under the NinjaTrader, Tradovate and Kraken Derivatives US trade names, and NinjaTrader Group is owned by Kraken parent Payward.
Final verdict
AMP Futures is the stronger choice for traders who want to assemble their own platform and data-feed stack. TradeStation wins for multi-asset active traders, EdgeClear wins when service matters, and Interactive Brokers wins for global market access.
But if the only thing you dislike about Tradovate is its interface, moving brokers may be unnecessary. Tradovate currently includes access to NinjaTrader platforms and integrates with TradingView, so changing the front end should be the first thing to test.
If the goal is to reduce dependence on Tradovate itself, however, NinjaTrader is not the escape route it first appears to be. Pick an independent brokerage and compare the all-in cost, platform, data feed, clearing arrangement and execution workflow for the contracts you actually trade before moving your account.
Futures trading involves substantial risk of loss. Brokerage pricing, margins, integrations and account eligibility can change, so verify current terms with the broker before opening or transferring an account.
