Which is the better fit?

Consider IUX

IUX is a legitimate forex and CFD broker with unusually competitive trading costs, but it would not be my first choice for traders whose main priority is maximum regulatory protection. Its strongest points are low spreads, MetaTrader 5 access and flexible account pricing. Its main weakness is the regulatory structure: IUX has an ASIC-licensed Australian company, but IUX explicitly states that this entity does not provide services through the main iux.com website.

Consider Pepperstone

Verdict: Pepperstone is a strong choice for active forex and CFD traders who want competitive pricing, MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, cTrader, TradingView and a proprietary web/mobile platform under one broker. Its Razor account is particularly attractive for frequent FX traders.

Pepperstone is the better broker for most traders comparing IUX vs Pepperstone in 2026. It has a broader regulatory footprint, substantially more trading platforms, a much larger range of CFD markets and clearer pricing disclosures.

IUX is the stronger choice for traders specifically looking for very high leverage. IUX advertises leverage of up to 1:3000, compared with limits that vary by Pepperstone entity and client classification. IUX also offers a relatively simple MT5 and proprietary-platform setup.

The practical decision is straightforward:

Choose Pepperstone if regulation, platform choice, market coverage and overall flexibility matter most.

Choose IUX if access to leverage of up to 1:3000 is one of your main requirements and that leverage is available to you under your account and jurisdiction.

CFDs are leveraged products and can result in substantial losses. The broker entity you register with matters because leverage limits, regulatory protections and some trading conditions vary by country.

IUX currently lists MetaTrader 5 plus its own app and WebTerminal, while Pepperstone supports its proprietary platform, MT4, MT5, cTrader and TradingView. IUX's current account page lists more than 120 CFD instruments; Pepperstone lists more than 1,350 markets.

Is Pepperstone or IUX better overall?

Pepperstone provides more platform choice, more markets and broader group-level regulatory coverage. Traders can use MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, cTrader, TradingView or Pepperstone's own platform instead of being primarily tied to MT5 and IUX's proprietary ecosystem.

Pepperstone also lists more than 1,350 CFD markets across forex, shares, indices, commodities, cryptocurrencies and ETFs. IUX's current trading-account page states 120+ available instruments across its accounts.

That difference matters more than it may initially appear. A trader who starts with EUR/USD may later want to trade individual equities, ETFs, additional indices or less common currency pairs. Pepperstone leaves considerably more room to expand without changing brokers.

IUX still makes sense for a narrower group of traders. Its maximum advertised leverage of 1:3000 is far above what Pepperstone offers to most clients, although IUX can reduce maximum leverage under particular conditions. IUX's terms, for example, provide for higher margin requirements around high-impact news and market-close periods.

Verdict: Pepperstone wins overall. IUX wins when unusually high leverage is a deliberate part of the trader's requirements.

Which is more regulated, IUX or Pepperstone?

Pepperstone states that group entities are licensed or regulated by authorities including the UK Financial Conduct Authority, Australian Securities and Investments Commission, Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission, Germany's BaFin, Dubai Financial Services Authority, Capital Markets Authority of Kenya and Securities Commission of The Bahamas.

IUX also operates through multiple legal entities, but the details need to be read carefully.

IUX Markets (MU) Ltd is regulated by the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius under Investment Dealer licence GB22200605. IUX Markets ZA (Pty) Ltd holds South African FSCA licence 53103. IUX Markets AU Pty Ltd holds ASIC licence 529610, but IUX explicitly states that the Australian company does not operate or provide products through the main iux.com website. IUX Markets Limited in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is incorporated with the local Financial Services Authority.

That distinction is important. Seeing an ASIC licence somewhere within a corporate group does not automatically mean a trader opening an account through the global website becomes a client of the ASIC-regulated entity.

Both brokers state that client money is segregated from company operating funds. The exact regulatory rights and compensation arrangements available to a customer still depend on the legal entity holding the account.

For regulation, Pepperstone wins. Its regulatory coverage is broader, and traders in several major regulated markets can be onboarded through locally supervised entities.

Which has lower spreads and trading fees?

Both brokers advertise raw spreads starting from 0.0 pips.

Pepperstone's Razor account uses raw-spread plus commission pricing for FX and spot gold. Pepperstone currently states that FX spreads start from 0.0 pips and commissions start at $3.50 per lot per side, equivalent to $7 for a full open-and-close transaction at that stated rate. Pepperstone's Standard account uses spread-based pricing rather than a separate FX commission.

IUX offers Standard, Raw and Pro accounts. Its current Help Center states:

  • Standard: spreads from 0.2 pips, no commission, $30 minimum deposit
  • Raw: spreads from 0.0 pips, commission-based pricing, $200 minimum deposit
  • Pro: spreads from 0.1 pips, no commission, $200 minimum deposit

There is one disclosure issue worth noticing. IUX's Help Center currently lists the Raw commission as $7 per lot, while its General Business Terms state that Raw commission starts at $6 per lot and may differ by underlying asset. Traders comparing costs should therefore verify the exact commission shown for their account and instrument before depositing rather than relying on a comparison site's static number.

This is also why a claim such as "Broker A has 0.0 pip spreads and is therefore cheaper" is weak analysis. A zero minimum spread tells you nothing about how often that spread is available or what the total round-trip trading cost will be after commission.

For active traders, compare:

total cost = live spread + opening commission + closing commission + applicable overnight funding

Pepperstone gets the edge for pricing clarity, but neither broker should be selected from advertised minimum spreads alone.

IUX vs Pepperstone for trading platforms

Pepperstone supports five main trading environments: its own platform, MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, TradingView and cTrader. It also supports automated trading through MetaTrader Expert Advisors, cTrader Automate and API-related integrations.

IUX supports the IUX Trade App, IUX WebTerminal and MetaTrader 5. MT5 is available across desktop, mobile and web environments.

This creates several clear use cases.

A trader already committed to MT4 should choose Pepperstone because IUX focuses on MT5 rather than MT4.

A trader who wants TradingView broker integration should choose Pepperstone.

A trader building automated systems in cTrader should choose Pepperstone.

A trader who simply wants MT5 plus a broker-native mobile or browser platform may find either broker sufficient.

Pepperstone's platform advantage is therefore not cosmetic. It reduces the probability that a trader will need to change brokers simply because their preferred trading software changes.

IUX vs Pepperstone leverage

IUX states that leverage can reach 1:3000, subject to account type, trading volume, instrument and other conditions. Its policies also allow leverage and margin requirements to be adjusted, including lower maximum leverage during specified higher-margin periods.

Pepperstone leverage depends heavily on the regulatory entity and whether the customer is classified as retail or professional. Its current account material lists up to 30:1 for retail clients and 500:1 for professional clients in relevant jurisdictions, while other Pepperstone entities publish different retail limits.

This is one category where IUX clearly wins on the raw specification.

That does not make 1:3000 leverage inherently better. Higher leverage reduces the margin required to control a position, but it also means relatively small price movements can produce very large changes in account equity.

Choose IUX for leverage only if high leverage is something you deliberately need and understand, not simply because 1:3000 is a larger number.

Which broker has more markets?

Pepperstone currently lists 1,350+ markets. Its account information includes forex, indices, shares, commodities, cryptocurrencies and ETFs. The broker's published breakdown includes 93 forex CFDs, 26 index CFDs, 1,162 share CFDs, 40 commodity CFDs, 95 ETF CFDs and 31 crypto CFDs, although Pepperstone notes that market availability can vary.

IUX's current account page lists 120+ instruments and supports currency, commodity, stock, index, cryptocurrency and thematic index CFDs.

For someone trading only major forex pairs and gold, that difference may not matter.

For a trader who wants one account covering a broad range of shares, ETFs and other CFDs, Pepperstone is the stronger choice by a large margin.

Which broker requires a smaller deposit?

IUX's current Help Center lists a $30 minimum deposit for its Standard account and $200 for its Raw and Pro accounts.

Pepperstone's current global account page says there is no obligation to fund an account and lists a $10 minimum when making a funding transaction. Its account comparison separately displays a $0 minimum deposit.

This makes Pepperstone easier to test with a smaller amount of capital.

The more sensible approach, however, is to use each broker's demo account first. A broker's minimum funding requirement should not determine the amount of capital a trader risks.

IUX or Pepperstone for beginners?

The reason is not that Pepperstone makes trading easier or safer. CFD trading remains high risk.

Pepperstone gets the nod because the Standard account has a relatively simple spread-based pricing structure, the platform selection gives the trader more room to experiment, and its regulatory coverage is broader. Pepperstone itself positions the Standard account as the simpler of its two pricing models.

IUX can still appeal to beginners because its Standard account has no separate commission and its platform range is less complicated. The problem is that one of IUX's headline differentiators, leverage of up to 1:3000, is not a feature an inexperienced trader should treat as a reason to select a broker.

IUX or Pepperstone for scalping and active trading?

Pepperstone's Razor account combines raw-spread pricing with MT4, MT5, cTrader, TradingView and Pepperstone's own platform. That makes Pepperstone particularly flexible for algorithmic traders, scalpers and traders with existing platform-specific workflows.

IUX's Raw account also offers spreads from 0.0 pips and market execution, while its trading environment centres on MT5 and IUX's platforms.

Do not choose between the two based on advertised execution-speed numbers without conducting your own testing. Broker-reported latency figures can be measured using different infrastructure, account locations and methodologies, so they are not necessarily comparable.

A serious active trader should demo both brokers using the same instrument, session and strategy, then record actual spreads, fills, slippage and total commission.

Is IUX better than Pepperstone?

IUX offers up to 1:3000 leverage under qualifying conditions and provides Standard, Raw and Pro account structures.

Pepperstone provides broader platform support, more than 1,350 CFD markets and a wider group-level regulatory footprint.

Is IUX safer than Pepperstone?

Pepperstone operates regulated entities across several major jurisdictions. IUX also has regulated entities, including FSC Mauritius, FSCA South Africa and ASIC Australia, but IUX specifically states that its Australian ASIC entity does not provide services through the main iux.com website.

Neither regulation nor segregated client funds eliminates trading, counterparty or insolvency risk.

Does IUX have lower fees than Pepperstone?

Both brokers advertise spreads from 0.0 pips on their raw-style accounts. The relevant comparison is the actual spread plus commission for the instrument you trade, at the times you normally trade it.

Pepperstone currently provides clearer internally consistent published pricing. IUX's own materials contain different Raw commission figures, so its live contract specification should be checked before making a cost comparison.

Can I use MT4 with IUX or Pepperstone?

Traders who specifically require MT4 should therefore choose Pepperstone between these two brokers.

Final verdict: IUX or Pepperstone?

Pepperstone combines broader regulation, five major trading-platform options and more than 1,350 CFD markets. Those advantages affect how usable the broker remains as a trader's strategy, instruments and software requirements change.

Choose Pepperstone if you want the strongest all-round package.

Choose IUX if access to leverage of up to 1:3000 outweighs Pepperstone's advantages in regulation, platform choice and instrument range.

Before opening either account, confirm which legal entity will hold your account and check the current spread, commission, leverage, funding and withdrawal terms for your country. Broker terms can differ by jurisdiction and change over time.

This comparison is general information, not personal investment advice. CFDs are complex leveraged instruments and carry a high risk of loss.
