ADX is not better than RSI; they measure different things and work best together rather than in competition.
While compared to tools like RSI or MACD, which show momentum and reversal points, ADX focuses purely on trend strength.
In a trending market ADX above 20 overbought and oversold conditions are common occurrences and do not always provide a reliable trade signal on their own, so ADX takes precedence.
In the absence of a trend (ADX is less than 20), look to see if the RSI shows an investment has entered overbought (RSI is greater than 70) or oversold (RSI is less than 30) territory. Use ADX to identify trending versus ranging conditions, then RSI to time entries.
