A trading journal can help you become profitable by revealing which setups, conditions, and behaviors actually make you money versus the ones that just feel productive. Profitability comes from doing more of what works and eliminating what does not, and you cannot make that distinction without data. The journal does not generate alpha on its own — it exposes where your alpha already exists and where you are giving it back.
