Is a hammer good for day trading?

A hammer can work well for day trading but only as part of a confirmed setup, not a standalone signal. The pattern marks where sellers drove price lower then buyers stepped in, absorbed supply, pushed price back up, and forced the close near the top of the session, suggesting selling pressure may be exhausted, and it works best after a sustained downtrend, near support zones like prior lows or moving averages, with elevated volume validating buying pressure. Buy on the next candle when it breaks above the highs of the hammer and use a stop below the low to protect your position
